Evaluation of two diagnostic tools used to diagnose school readiness

The thesis is devoted to the issue of school readiness and its diagnosis. The aim was to compare the two tests used for the testing of school readiness and to assess whether the comparatively evaluate some aspects of school readiness. In the first chapter of the theoretical part the area of development of preschool children in describe. The second chapter is devoted to major changes in the legislation of our education. The next two chapters (third and fourth) are on school readiness, enrollment in elementary and diagnostics of school maturity. The last, fifth chapter of the theoretical part, deals with immaturity and unpreparedness for entry into school. In the practical part I focused on in-house testing and evaluation of tests used. For testing, I chose two tests used to evaluate school maturity. The results of the two tests I tried using statistical methods to determine whether these tests evaluate comparatively. Analysis of the causes of school suspension in the regional investigation context

The purpose of this thesis was to identify the most common causes of school suspension within a regional survey in comparison with the views of parents, elementary and kindergarten teachers. In connection with this theme the author dealt with pre-school child characteristics focusing on school maturity diagnosis and school suspension problematics. The main reasearch was realised i Pedagogical-psychological advice centre in Kladno in 3 selected years ranging from 1999 to 2010. The method of analysis has been used to collect the data. A survey in a form of an anonymous questionnaire clearified opinions of selected respondents. On the basis of this observation a casuistry of a school suspended child with specific needs has been made. This casuistry demonstrates further development of a child after starting it's school attendence. Submitted results of the thesis confirmed the opinions of experts in this field as well as conclusions of researches focusing on school suspension issues. It has been found out, that the most common causes of school suspension in the examined lokality are the issues of speech, visual and hearing perception, graphmotorics and school work maturity. School Maturity and Beginning of School Attendance

This diploma thesis deals with an admission procedure to the first form of primary education, school readiness, beginning of the school attendance and a formation of initial literacy in the first form of primary school. The theoretical part focuses on the ontogeny of a child in the pre-school and young school age, school readiness, the beginning of school attendance and the initial reading and writing skills. The research focuses on the preparation of children in kindergartens for school. It also describes three processes of admission procedure to the first form of primary school at three different schools. The author also analyses results of these admission procedures in 2018. She also analyses the human body drawings in connection with the school readiness. Last but not least she analyses the formation of hygiene habits of pupils in the first forms. The findings of this research are compared with the information in the theoretical part. There are also many appendices that document the research. At the end of the thesis there is the interpretation of the research and a description of contemporary school readiness issues.

This thesis deals with the issue of school readiness and procedures for the assessment. It focuses on achieving individual developmental areas for children before they enter school, the conduct of the assessment of maturity and option diagnostic tools. The objective of this work is to identify most vulnerable and high-risk areas for school children before entering school and the possibility of stimulation. It also presents the possibility of using screening tests and presentation of their results. The aim of this thesis is based on the utilization of available screening tests in a sample of children, including the latest diagnostic tools maters, the practical part of the work and the conclusions of this thesis, which dealt with the appropriate options stimulation attenuated developmental areas. Parent's Motives for Postponing Child's Compulsory School Attandance

In my Master Thesis, I am dealing with the issue of posponing child's school attendance with a special regard to the motives of parents leading to suspension. The Thesis is bothe theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is mapping the theme of suspended school attendance and socio-pedagogical aspects related to the decision making process leading to suspension. The empirical part offers selected examples of parents' motivation apllying for postponing of their child's education. My research is based on interview and questionnaire. I used available Czech materials as a source of expert information and I draw from the experience of my empirical research in the last chapter.

Thesis "Child with school attendance delay" covers problems connected with school attendance delay of children of preschool age. The thesis is devided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part consists of five chapters in which preschool age is mentioned and somatic, motoric and cognitive development of child described. This part also focuses on development of drawing, speaking and emotional experiences of preschool age children including their socialization. In the meantime it defines terms of school maturity, preparedness for school and school immaturity. Theoretical part is finished with a chapter about school attendance delay of preschool age children. Practical part is based on results of a test of Predictive reading battery, questionnaire research and personal diagnostic research. Then through analysis of statistic dates of Moravske Budejovice the most frequent month in which school attendance delayed children were borned is assesed, number of delays and number of boys and girls here is compared for the last six months. These results are compared with school attendance delays in Vysocina region and in The Czech Republic.

This thesis is named Problems of school maturity (with respect to graphic abilities). It is divided into two parts. The theoretical part defines the concept of pre-school age and of school maturity, it deals with possible reasons for school immaturiry and their improvement. Special attention is given to drawing in connection with school maturity. The practical part derives from judgement of school maturity on the base of graphic abilities. The typical signs and possible differences between boys' and girls' graphic abilities are viewed.
