Attitudes towards same - sex couples in the Evangelical church of Czech brethren
Vančová, Eliška ; Landová, Tabita (advisor) ; Vaňáč, Martin (referee)
As part of the efforts to protect minorities, the issue of the social status of intimate relationship between two people of the same sex has come to the fore in recent years. This thesis called Attitudes towards same-sex couples in the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren examines how the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (hereafter ECCB) has approached the issue. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the current starting point, the first part of the thesis discusses views on homosexuality and same-sex relationships throughout history. Then it focuses more closely on developments in the Czech environment, as well as on Christian, and specifically protestant, approaches. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the ECCB documents and debates on the topic. It concentrates on attitudes towards homosexuality and same-sex relationships and, in relation to the issue of same-sex marriage, on the ECCB's approach to marriage. Based on ECCB agendas, it traces the Church's basis for a liturgy of blessing same-sex couples. The third and final part of the paper presents the practice of blessing same-sex couples in ECCB based on research. The research consists of two parts. The first is a questionnaire survey examining how widespread blessing same-sex couples is in the Church and what factors play a role. The...
Christian parties in Switzerland, in Austria and in Germany - a comparison
TRAPL, Dominik
This bachelor's thesis deals with the three most important Christian parties, namely the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany, including its sister Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU) operating in the territory of the Free State of Bavaria. Furthermore, Die Mitte in the Swiss Confederation, which was cre-ated on 1/1/2021 by the merger of the Christian Democratic People's Party (CVP) and the Civic Democratic Party (BDP). Then the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) in the Republic of Austria. These are political parties that have a common basis in the Christian traditions to which they subscribe. Nevertheless, over the years there has been a permissive aban-donment of these traditions, which is particularly noticeable in the Austrian People's Par-ty, which already wants to be the party of all citizens of Austria, regardless of their reli-gion. In my theoretical part, I focused on the characteristics of Christian parties, including youth organizations. In the following practical part, I analyse the elections to the lower houses of the parliaments for the last 10 years, i.e. the electoral successes of the men-tioned Christian parties and their subsequent representation in the lower house between 2011 and 2021. Then I deal with the election programs of the Christian parties on the se-lected topics. So, my goal is to look for common aspects to certain social problems, but also different attitudes.
The enforcement of same sex marriage through the lens of multiple streams framework
Pluhař, Filip ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
This thesis aims to describe and explain the process of advocating for an amendment to the Civil Code that would legalize same-sex marriage in the Czech Republic. This proposal which was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies in 2018 had never been approved. The current legislation allows gays and lesbians to enter into a registered partnership with limited rights compared to the institution of marriage. The thesis should identify the arguments and strategies used by the same-sex marriage policy entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it aims to find the reasons which led to the rejection of the proposed amendment. The perspective of Multiple streams framework is applied to the whole issue. Analysis is based mainly on the findings obtained from the interviews with policy entrepreneurs and the deputies who voted on the amendment. Transcripts of the Chamber of Deputies proceedings and media outputs were used as secondary data. The results show in which cases were the entrepreneurs successful and at which stage of the process the opposite was true. The thesis then describes possible reasons that led to the failure and attempts to justify why certain strategies and arguments were ineffective and did not convince the deputies - decision makers.
Housework within same-sex couples
Kounová Roubíčková, Karolína ; Sokolová, Věra (advisor) ; Benešová, Jana (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to provide the insight into the issue of housework among same-sex couples from their perspective. The research was conducted in sense of feminist perspective, which main considered advantages are increased reflexivity in relation to power at all stages of research and more space for the perspective of participators themselves. As a basic technique for data collection semi-structured dyadic interviews with each partner of the couple separately were used, they focused on their individual construction of reality in the context of housework among these couples, but also on participants' thoughts about housework in general. Three lesbian and two gay couples participated in this research. The analysis shows that there prevails egalitarian gender ideology in the context of housework which corresponds to the egalitarian view of the division of housework among same-sex couples in minds of the participants. The division of housework within the participating same- sex couples was mainly governed by the principle of fairness of the distribution, which consists of an equal division of household chores and is affected by personal preferences and previous experience in performing household chores. Fairness of the division, however, rather than with actual equal division of housework is...
