Speech-Language Pathology prevention at waldorf preschool

The thesis aims to demonstrate that alternative preschools provide high-quality speech-language pathology prevention. The paper focuses on the system of speech-language pathology prevention at Waldorf preschool and the description of the most common activities and methods supporting speech development. Another aim is to discover whether the speech development activities at Waldorf preschool correspond with the Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education, and how they differ from such activities at classic preschool. The theoretical section defines the main terminology connected with speech-language pathology prevention, the Framework Education Programme, and activities recommended for positive speech development. Moreover, it describes the principles, contents, aims, and methods of Waldorf pedagogy. The research focuses on the system of speech-language pathology at Waldorf preschool. For collecting the data, qualitative research questions are used, i.e. interviews with Waldorf teachers. Furthermore, observations at both Waldorf and classic preschools were conducted. The results show that the standards of speech-language pathology prevention at Waldorf preschool are high, and a variety of activities for speech development, included in the Framework Education Programme, are performed. The main difference between Waldorf and classic preschool speech-language pathology prevention is in the form and frequency of such activities.
Development of speech and communication in preschool children through selected children's literature

The topic of the diploma thesis is the development of speech and communication in preschool children. It deals with the possibilities of using children's literature and reading children's books to influence and improve the level of speech and communication between children. The work consists of two parts. The theoretical part defines the development of a preschool child with emphasis on the development of speech and their components. Furthermore, the types and forms of children's literature and its importance in preschool age are introduced. The theoretical part also deals with the individual language levels that it describes. The empirical part is processed in the form of action research. Its main part is a thematic unit with proposed activities and work with selected children's literature. Within the thematic unit, children are more actively involved in children's literature and communication with each other. At the end of the empirical part, the thematic unit will be reflected, evaluated and possible recommendations for further support of speech development and communication of preschool children will be given. The use of modern technological aids for the development of spoken speech at childern with severve hearing impairment.

This thesis is concerned with aids intended for the speech development of children with hearing impairment. The theoretical part summarizes the subject matter of hearing impairment, the possibilities of compensatory aids, speech development, speech therapy intervention and aids helping the speech development of people with hearing impairment. The theoretical part is mostly dedicated to the Speech Viewer aid, which has inspired the development of the new Hlásek application, which originated as a part of the inter-university cooperation of Charles University and ČVUT in Prague within working on two diploma theses. The introduction of the empirical part of the thesis describes the created application and with the use of gathering and analysis of data, interviews and observation, it follows the contribution of the application to the development of basic features of speech of children with hearing impairment. The results of the empirical investigation are processed with the help of graphs and thus they clearly represent the advances of the children in individual parts of the application. The conclusion of the thesis is dedicated to the future development of the application and the establishment of further possible cooperation with Children's Hearing Centre Tamtam. Developement of storytelling skills in preschoolers with the use of short film

Engaging and attractive media content is being exposed to young children since an early age. However, the impact of the media on their development is questionable. There are certain ways how to use media in order to have a positive impact on child's development If reasonable ways of handling media are found. Bachelor thesis addresses the use of digital media, film, in a nursery and aims to develop storytelling skills in preschoolers via the use of a short film. The study concludes, that there can be detected some improvements in storytelling skills of preschoolers by means of the program with the use of short films.
