Wireless transmission interference modeling (AWGN, Rayleigh, Rice fading channels)
Hloušek, Tomáš ; Gleissner, Filip (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes and models wirelesss transmission intereferences in real communication channels. A signal received on a fading channel is subjected to a multiplicative distortion and to the usual additive noise. Real channel adds to the signal noise and fadings. Gaussian noise is a result of channel awgn. Fadings is implicated by multipath propagation of signal in Rayleigh and Rician channels. Main goal of this project is to program BERsolve, which is created in tool GUIDE in Matlab. User program BERsolve makes it possible to analyse bit error rate and symbol error rate for some types of channel models, which are defined by standard COST207. BERsolve offers some other functions i.e. display time behaviour, constellation diagram and spectrum. This program provides us with an overview representation of problem by multipath interferences in communication channels.
Analysis of some active substances in different products from rice
Valentová, Radka ; Melounová, Jitka (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
Presented diploma thesis is focused on analysis of selected biologically active substances in different kinds of natural and peeled rice. In rice samples phenolic compounds, antioxidant activity, content of saccharides and vitamin C were analysed. Active substances and saccharides were analysed by UV-VIS spectrophotometry and RP-HPLC-UV/VIS. Content of phenolic compounds and saccharides was measured before and after acid hydrolysis. The content of these compounds increased several times because of release of active substances from glycosides. As a part of diploma thesis basic sensory analysis was performed and consumer questionnaires were evaluated. The highest level of antioxidant activity was detected in Indian Wild rice. The highest content of total polyphenols and flavonoids was detected in Red Rice Natural before acid hydrolysis. After acid hydrolysis the highest content was detected in Indian Wild rice. The highest content of individual flavonoids, phenolic acids and catechins was detected in natural rice Indian Wild, Rice Three colours and in two samples of rice parboiled. The highest content of total and reducing saccharides was found in rice Indian Wild before hydrolysis, while after hydrolysis the content was very similar in all rice samples. The amount of individual monosaccharides after acid hydrolysis increased, while total content of disaccharides decreased. The highest value of simple sugars was detected in rice parboiled and Indian Wild rice. The content of vitamin C was detected only in four rice kinds - in two samples of rice parboiled, Rice Three colours and rice Indian Wild.
Characterization of waste rice substrates and their potential utilization by microorganisms
Kapar, Jiří ; Duroňová, Kateřina (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to characterize some cereal substrates. Based on the results of group parameters the most suitable substrate for cultivation of model industrial microorganisms was proposed. Analysis of total phenolics, reducing sugars and total sugars was performed spectrophotometrically. Using high-performance liquid chromatography with refractometry index detection content of individual mono-and disaccharides was measured. Saccharides were extracted from cereal substrates by water and then acid hydrolysis was applied. Two rice substrates were then used as nutrition sources for cultivation of two model industrial microorganisms: yeast Rhodotorula glutinis and bacterium Bacillus subtilis. Before use to production media substrates were processed by chemical and enzyme hydrolysis and analyzed. Production of microbial biomass in media with modified waste substrates was evaluated.
World rice market and the role of Vietnam in this market
Nguyen, Thu Trang ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Klosová, Anna (referee)
The work is focuses on the development of world rice market and on Vietnam as a second biggest exporter in this area. The rice is not only characterized in terms of types and species but also in economic terms. Emphasis is put on the development of prices which varied a lot for the last decade. Analysis of the biggest players in the global market such as Thailand or India aim to find out which steps lead to success. The main aim is to conclude what does Vietnam has to do so that it consolidates its place on the market and raises standard of living of the farmers. Emphasis is also put on revealing new directions of development such as organic farming or cultivation of rare and expensive kinds of rice. The goal of the recommendations is to elevate quality and prices of vietnamese rice on the global market.
The world rice market
Hrbek, Milan ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Štemberk, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with current situation on the world rice market. The main goal is to describe current situation on the market and create prediction of another development. The first chapter deals with characteristic, classic and alternative use of rice. The second chapter describes the market situation thru production, prices development and largest traders. It describes also the most important organizations, which affect the world market of rice. The third and last chapter deals with estimate of future development of the market. The first part of it describes new trends like ¨Golden rice¨and ¨Bio rice¨ and also innovations necessary for future development of the rice market. The last part of the thesis contains estimates of future production, international business, prices and consumption development.
The World Rice Market
Nguyen Thi Thanh, Dung ; Cihelková, Eva (advisor) ; Sejkora, Jiří (referee)
The thesis researches the world rice market and the related international trade with this commodity. It analyzes the worldwide production and consumption of rice and its economic benefits in the global economy. The paper also describes the development and current situation of the international rice trade and the progress of demand, supply and price is examined as well. Another chapter deals with the trade policy of the main importers and exporters and its impacts on the world rice market. The last chapter investigates the forms of international regulations that have been requested by the global rice trade.
Qualitative analysis of transgenic rice line Bt 63 using PCR
Ovesná, Jaroslava ; Hodek, Jan ; Pavlátová, Lucie
Principle of the assay is to discover in the sample of DNA 83bp lenght specific nucleotide sequence of transgenic construct of Bt 63 rice in the border of Bt gene and the NOS terminator. After amplification of target DNA, the PCR products are separated by way of elektroforesis in agarose gel. The final 83bp lenght PCR product is visualizated in UV light as a shining strip on gel in certain position.

International rice trade
Vu, Daniel ; Černá, Iveta (advisor) ; Bolotov, Ilya (referee)
The thesis deals with the development of international trade in rice and focuses mainly on the period 2006 until 2011. I concentrated on the major exporters of rice -- China, India, Thailand, Vietnam and the U.S., the major importers -- Indonesia and the EU. In the context of these countries I analyzed the effects of government trade policies on the form of international trade in rice. My goal was to combine both these elements in coherence, because they are an inseparable part. In the first chapter, I first defined types of rice, then I explained the Standard Model theory of trade and trade policies for the export and import countries. In the second chapter, I gave an overview of the production and trade in rice. In next chapter I dealt with the trade policies of the above mentioned states. In the last chapter, I finally connected the impact of trade policies on foreign trade of selected countries.
Analysis of selected commodities from investor's point of view
Škultéty, Daniel ; Trešl, Jiří (advisor) ; Václavík, Tomáš (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze investment options into wheat, corn and rice futures throughout different time horizons. Mostly we use daily closing prices for the last fifteen years. General knowledge of the field in context of nowadays is required to perform such an analysis. To achieve our goals we use technical analysis, time series analysis and we discuss the fundaments of price movements. Contribution of this thesis can be summed as presenting the basic tools of technical analysis in real world, presenting the fundamentals of price movements in one place and practical application of time series analysis on futures prices. By doing so we can confirm that random walk thesis is not unsubstantial but cannot be generalized for all instruments and periods of capital market.
