Design of a set of used containers combining ceramics and textiles
HORATLÍKOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis deals with the non-traditional interconnection of materials in the field of ceramic design and design in general. A crucial part of the work is the treatise of foreign and Czech designers who inspire the author to create the practical part. The theoretical part of the work is the treatise on the design and the designers mentioned above. The part about ceramics where introduced readers to the necessary steps for the work of a ceramist. Last but not least part about textile, its functions and handmade textile works. The practical part documents the creation of a convolution of five vessels, in which the design, ceramics and textiles are connected at the same time. An essential factor for vessels is their functionality, which is not neglected in the creation process.

The Late Bronze Age in the region of Písek, Southern Bohemia
Pokorná, Kamila ; Bláhová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Smejtek, Lubor (referee)
The thesis presents the results of evaluation of archaeological finds from the two settlements in Písek (site "nemocnice") and Topělec. Both settlements are dated to the Late Bronze Age. With respect to the fact that only Late Bronze Age sites of smaller extent have been evaluated and published in South Bohemia so far, the studied settlements offer a more complex view on the composition of ceramic finds in this period and region. Both sites provide ceramic finds analogous to those from Central and Wes Bohemia, however, they do not differ significantly from other South Bohemian sites.

Včelicová, Tereza ; Stančo, Ladislav (advisor) ; Pavúk, Peter (referee)
The aim of this work is to classify and analyse the ceramic assemblage of the sector 20 - so-called Citadel - of the site Jandavlattepa in the South of Uzbekistan. This settlement in historical Bactria was inhabited in its latest phase by the Kushans. The here presented pottery was discovered by a Czech-Uzbekistan expedition during the years 2002-2006. This work presents the history and environments of the site in order to enable a complex understanding of the pottery assemblage as a whole, in relation to its contexts. The pottery fragments are divided into the groups according fabric, shapes and forms. The decoration types are also accentuated. All these features help to compare Jandavlattepa with analogical sites of Central Asia from the same period.

Mašková, Jana ; Sojka, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Otavský, Karel (referee)
Název bakalářské práce v anglickém jazyce: The Tiled stoves from the nineteenth century at the Prague Castle and aristocratic settlements in Bohemia Abstract The aim of this essay is to detail a masonry stove in neo-gothic style from 19th century at the Prague Castle and aristocratic settlements in Bohemia. I also concern myself with interiors and history of stove-fitting in Czech Republic. All the rooms with the stoves used to be luxurious, comfortable, nice and warm. The main topic of my bachelor thesis is history of stoves in the Prague Castle. I describe the interesting part of Prague Castle including Old Royal Palace with its Vladislav Hall and the House of Lords with a big neo- gothic tiled stove, the only one here. The stove was created between years 1808-1836 at the time of the rule of the king Francis II. (ruling from 1792 to 1835) and the last Czech crowned Emperor Ferdinand V. Dobrotivý (ruling from 1830 to 1848). On the occasion of the coronation, which took place on the 7th September 1836 in the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Vladislav Hall and The House of Lord, the Old Royal Palace was rebuilt and decorated. I describe some of the most important moments of The Story about neo-gothic stoves from the old part of the Prague Castle as well as from another places in our country. In the next parts, I...
Žatec and north-western Bohemia in the 2nd Half of the 10 Century
Čech, Petr ; Sláma, Jiří (advisor) ; Macháček, Jiří (referee) ; Moždzioch, Slawomir (referee)
The present work was written following a master thesis on the settlement and the shape of the early mediaeval agglomeration of Žatec in the 9th century. Subject of this dissertation is the processing of pottery from settlement features and from the 10th -century fortification. This enabled to study the development of the fortification system and changes of the settlement structure within individual settlement components. On the basis of excavations a relative chronology of the pottery and in accordance with the dendrochronological data a hypothesis on absolute dating has been presented. In view of this new chronology a new quantitative and qualitative analysis of information on the early mediaeval strongholds and hill-top settlements of the 9th and 10th century in the central and lower Ohře Region and in the Ore Mountain foothills was undertaken. A processing of the research on Drahúš stronghold has contributed substantially to this new perspective. The 1960s opinion on the affiliation of early mediaeval strongholds on the territory in question to the tribal territory of the Lučans, which should have been opposed to the Central Bohemian Přemyslid patrimony, based on the gathered information and its analysis could have been rejected. It was possible to comprise the evaluation of the excavation at...
Residential structure of the area of a Funnel beaker culture at multiculture settlement at Velké Přílepy.
Juřinová, Šárka ; Dobeš, Miroslav (advisor) ; Popelka, Miroslav (referee)
in English The submitted thesis adresses the processing of material culture from the archaeological excavation in Velké Přílepy (district of Prague-west), where the settlement of Funnel Beaker culture was uncovered. The study is a sequel to my bacheolor's thesis (defended in 2010) which evaluated only one part of the excavated settlement and significantly improves its corpus of finds. Therefore there is now a complete analysis of the whole widespread settlement area in an open position without any fortification. Close to sixty structures were documented and dated (based on ceramic analysis) to the Siřem and Salzmündphase of Funnel Beaker culture on this researched area. Thanks to the excavation, an exceptionally rich collection of ceramic production from the Early Eneolithic period (10 105 pieces altogether) exists. Other settlements belonging to the Funnel Beaker culture in the vicinity of Velké Přílepy are also considered in this thesis. Together with this settlement, they create a unique area of settlements of the aforementioned culture.
