The Origins and Devvelopment of the STAN Movement from 2004 to the Present.

This bachelor thesis consists of analysis of the creation and development of the political movement "Starostové a nezávislí". In the first part, to engage the reader in the beginning and introduce him to the topic, the thesis is focusing on the concept of the political movement, states its functions and defines the major differences between political party and political movement. The thesis also notices certain circumstances which are mandatory for the creation of a political movement or party and the decrease of popularity for the traditional political parties in the Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis covers the political movement itself, namely the description of its creation and its development until the year 2022, which is portraited through using the elections data. The thesis also recognizes the programme and the electorate of the movement, as well as its crises and critique received by the society. 1 The thesis Populist Movements in the Czech Republic considers people and political groups using populist appeals which refer to "well-behaved people" and go against unfriendly élites. The thesis describes main topics of these political subjects, and on the base of it it develops a few populist families. In the introductory part, a few theoretical approaches to populism in general and its relationship with democracy are discussed. The main purpose of the thesis is to describe the environment of populist subjects in the Czech Republic and to classify them according to their similarities and cleavage lines.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the origins and development of the Czech political party SPD - Tomio Okamura. The teoretical part is focused on political parties in general, on their definition, origin, typology and functions. One part of the thesis is focused on the system of political parties. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the origin and development of SPD, from the first political party Tomio Okamura established to the current situation of SPD. Political Mobilization in the Czech Republic after 1998: Role of the Protest Movements and Initiatives in the Society

The mass character of political mobilization is not the only measure for the strength of civil society. It turns out that, in post-communist countries including the Czech Republic, transaction capacity became the characteristic of protest movements and initiatives. It referrs to the ability to cooperate, take advantage of inter-organizational network and share resources and know how. These transactions, to a certain extent, compensate for poor mobilization capacity, which is typical for new transactional activism and civic self-organizations. The contrast between "old" social movements, episodic mass mobilisations, new transactional activism, along with civil self-organization, illustrated that even without mass mobilization a mature structure of civil society and advocacy organizations can emerge and operate. The year 1998 brought the beginning of favorable conditions for political activism. It turns out that the activity of the "old" activism decreases with the number of members of trade unions, which is typical for this mode. At the same time, people prefer forms of direct action and direct public protest. Using five selected case studies we described the nature of episodic mass mobilization, civil ad hoc and informal self-organization and new transactional activism,whose repertoire is besides petitions...
The new political movements in municipal elections to Prague City Assembly in 2014

This bachelor thesis deals with new political movements, which ran for Prague City Assembly in the municipal elections in 2014. The aim of this work is to find out whether citizens would prefer the new political movements or stayed with the traditional parties. The goal of work is accomplished on the basis of an analysis of pre-election campaigns and closer examination of electoral programs. The thesis also focuses on the factors that influenced the election results, especially in the movement ANO 2011 and Pro Prahu. Part of the work also deals with the theoretical part, which are mainly defined political movements, political marketing, capital city of Prague and its institutions.
