The selected podcasts are Zkouškový, Stopař, Neklid, Rozchod, Rituál, Hrana, Hranice násilí, Zhasni!, Svatebky, Základka, Pohřešovaná a Anatomie strachu, which will be analyzed on the basis of audionarratological analysis, which is based on verbal and non-verbal signs in the context of the audio medium. The results of the analysis of drama podcasts show that in their case sound design is very important. Primarily in the form of musical undertones and sound effects revealing other levels of storytelling. In all cases, their intention is to provide an authentic experience and build an attractive environment for listeners. On the contrary, the analysis of documentary podcast shows that there are two groups of documents with different approaches. The first group consists of documents based only on statements without much use of sound design, when it is mainly...

Hoppejová, Diana ; Müller Dočkalová, Barbora (advisor) ; Uličná, Klára (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with podcasts as a way of teaching the English language, mainly focused on children aged 5-7 years before the start of their school education. The podcasts are designed to introduce the English language to children with the help of their first language through spoken audio fairy tales without the help of visual aids. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether systematic use of the first language in audio material for beginning young learners can have a positive impact on their motivation and willingness to listen. The aim of the theoretical part was to gain the necessary knowledge to prepare such podcasts effectively. It therefore explores effective ways of teaching English to young learners, the use of stories to teach English, and the role of the first language in foreign language learning. The practical part reports on research conducted among parents of Czech and Slovak children who had not enjoyed listening to English audio materials prior to the research. The parents agreed on testing a series of the author's original podcasts with their children, and observing their reactions. The aim was to verify or reject the hypothesis that even children who otherwise refuse to listen to English audio materials will be motivated to listen to English fairy tale podcasts where...

Dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1992
Křivánek, Adam ; Lovaš, Karol (advisor) ; Gulda, Jana (referee)
My bachelor thesis deals with the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1992. Its main part is a radio podcast with a total length of twenty-five minutes and fifty-two seconds, and it aims to bring the complex subject matter to generations born after the events of the early 1990s. In the output, however, I do not only focus on events closely associated with this particular historical period. Instead, from the position of a narrator, based on the knowledge of a high school student, I go through the history of the Czech and Slovak Republics. In doing so, I am looking in particular for the causes and consequences of the dissolution. But in order to avoid plain and boring narrative, my speech is supplemented by numerous archive records and background music. In addition, the podcast is interspersed with answers to my questions from the relevant experts. In an interview recorded especially for this thesis, a historian clarifies key historical contexts and a former high-ranking politician outlines the moods that moved society at the time. A theoretical section also accompanies the work. One of its purposes is to explain what the term podcast means and why I have chosen this particular format. Another is to place the relations between the Czech and Slovak nations in the necessary historical context. Thus, the...
The National Theatre Podcast
Šedinová, Michaela ; Lovaš, Karol (advisor) ; Čeňková, Jana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the podcast of the Czech National Theater, which was launched in January 2020. It is one of the podcasts created in response to COVID-19 restrictions. When theatres had to be closed, the National Theater was searching for new ways to reach its audience - and in cooperation with STORYLAB AUDIO, they launched a podcast in which the theatre was presented in a new perspective. They created a format that translates - largely visual - theatrical art into a sound medium. The result is a quality narrative podcast which can be an example of the beginning professionalization of podcasting in the Czech Republic. The practical part of this thesis is in the form of a "podcast about a podcast". It contains interviews in which the creators of the podcast of the National Theater talk about its making, they explain its goals, challenges, benefits. Also, it contains a survey in which people from the audience of the National Theater answer the question of whether they know and listen to the podcast of the National Theater. One of the aims of this work is to place the podcast of the National Theater in a broader context - in the practical part, this is done within an interview with a media expert. In the theoretical part, it is done by defining podcasting from different perspectives...

Through a podcast series of three recordings, this bachelor's thesis deals with products that originated in Czechoslovakia between 1945 and 1989 and are still being produced or reproduced today. These are products that are generally known and mostly popular among the inhabitants of the Czech Republic, so even today they have a fixed place in the society and they are not just historical objects that could fall into oblivion. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the phenomenon of podcasting, especially its history, along with its significance in today's world, and outlines certain differences between podcasts and radio broadcasting. Furthermore, this section presents in detail the procedures and methods used in creating the entire podcast series, along with its detailed presentation. The practical part is the series itself called Classic with three approximately ten-minute podcast works that describe individual Czechoslovak products. Specifically, these are Prim watches, Prestige shoes and chests of drawers by designer Jiří Jiroutek. The parts include information about the history and present of the products, as well as various interviews with people who are interested in the given things, produce them, collect them or have any relevant relationship to them. There is also musical...
