SUMMARY: Graduation theses titled - Development and Application of the health and wellbeing promotion in preschool children - describes preparation, application and evaluation of a project which focuses on health and healthy lifestyle promotion in preschool aged children by using specific physical exercises and activities focused on health. The Project has been applied in a Preschool facility with a specific group of children and its content was adapted by the Preschool's official curriculum.
Effect of physical exercise on adipose tissue characteristics: influence of obesity and aging
Čížková, Terezie ; Šiklová, Michaela (advisor) ; Horníková, Daniela (referee)
Obesity and ageing are associated with the changes in adipose tissue characteristics, which are con- sidered as one of important contributors to development of complications, such as cardiovascular diseases or type 2 diabetes. Physical exercise is known to be effective in prevention of diseases rela- ted to obesity and ageing. However, the effect of exercise on adipose tissue characteristics is only few elucidated in humans. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the main effects of exer- cise on adipose tissue characteristics. This thesis subsequently discuss detrimental changes (dysfunction) of the adipose tissue in obesity. Recent findings about the effects of some types of physical training on health of the elderly people are also mentioned. The initial chapter deals with adipose tissue in general, concretely the morphology, metabolism and endocrine function of the adipose tissue are described. Next part is focused on obesity, the concept of a chronic low-grade inflammatory state is introduced. The key section is the fourth chapter, in which the effects of exer- cise on adipose tissue, i.e. effects on metabolism of adipocytes and activation of immune cells, are reviewed. At the end of this thesis, the pathophysiological changes in inflammatory state and adi- pose tissue distribution associated...
The effect of extreme physical exertion on the percentage of dendritic cell subpopulations in professional athletes as correlated with change in adrenaline levels
Fischerová, Barbara ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
The main goal of this tesis is to describe changes in representation of various subpopulations dendritic cells (myelogenic and plasmocytoigenic) in peripheral blood after intense physical stress and to review their activation status. Early count changes and changes of function of basic elements of cellular immunity after a sport load was described, whereas a behaviour of circulating dendritic cells hasn't been studied yet. The amount and the stage of differentation of dendritic cells was specified by analysis of blood samples taken before and after the load. According to the result of the tesis the reaction to extreme physical load had two effects. The amount of dendritic cells was increased, whilst the expression of kostimulative molecules (their activation) was decreased. Described changes support an opinion, that physical load initates reaction to a danger of body damage. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The effect of aerobic training in patients with systemic sclerosis - literature review
Játiová, Lenka ; Špiritović, Maja (advisor) ; Heřmánková, Barbora (referee)
Title: The effect of aerobic training in patients with systemic sclerosis - literature review Objective: Main aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the effect of aerobic training in individuals with systemic sclerosis, to assess whether aerobic training has an impact on quality of life of these patients, and find out which methods are used to assess aerobic fitness in these individuals. Furthermore, the work is focused on summarizing the existing knowledge about the disease itself. Methodics: Thesis is written in the form of a systematic review according to the specified methodological parameters. Results: Studies have shown that aerobic training or aerobic training in combination with resistant training has a positive effect on the aerobic capacity of individuals with systemic scleroderma, the trend to improve quality of life was found in all studies and the methods used to determine aerobic fitness in all studies were cardiopulmonary stress tests. In the case of three studies, a six-minute walk test was also evaluated, the results of which were determined in two studies as the primary values for determining the effectiveness of training. Keywords: systemic sclerosis, scleroderma, physical exercise, aerobic exercise, aerobic training
Impact of home- based physical training programme on values of pulmonary function test and aerobic exercise capacity of children with cystic fibrosis
Štefanová, Petra ; Plešková, Jana (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
This diploma thesis takes interest in the issue of physical activities of children with cystic fibrosis, in possible impacts of such activities on clinical condition, in options of prescription of physical activities based on the actual clinical state of a person with cystic fibrosis, and in options of objectification of changes induced by an exercise programme. The theoretic part of this thesis summarizes the current findings about cystic fibrosis, therapy and physical activities in the context of prognosis of patients with cystic fibrosis. In experimental part, we performed examinations on few participants, who were willing to perform a home-based exercise programme. Also, we made a short exploratory questionnaire focused on the attitude of children with cystic fibrosis towards physical exercises. Methodology: We observed the evolution of maximal oxygen uptake VO2max, forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC) and of the scores of 1- minute sit-to-stand test (1-MSTST). All the measurements were performed before and after 12- weeks long exercise intervention. The inclusion criteria were diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, age over 10 years, FEV1 over 60 % predicted and no present signs of an acute exacerbation. Participants were assessed by spirometry examination,...
Possibilities of Physical Exercise in School- Age Patients with Cystic Fibrosis
Štefanová, Petra ; Zelenková, Jana (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
Cystic fibrosis belongs to the most common fatal genetic diseases of Caucasians. The treatment of cystic fibrosis symptoms is a complex system and its integral parts are methods of respiratory physiotherapy. Therapeutic approach helps clients to live even more than 40 years at the present time. Clients living with chronic diseases were discouraged from physical load in the past. But now, we know these patients benefit from regular physical activity. This thesis is divided into 2 parts - theoretic and practical. Theoretic research summarizes possibilities of testing the children patients with cystic fibrosis in relation to physical condition and also contains the latest information about already studied training programmes of this specific group. Practical part of this thesis is consist of a young client case study, suffering from the cystic fibrosis. This client underwent a physical examination and implemented designed 10- weeks training program thereafter.
Physical activity and its effect on the depression in the elderly
Sojková, Eliška ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: Physical activity and its effect on the depression in the elderly Objectives: The main aim of this work was to estimate the influence of physical activities on depression in a population over the age of 50. Methods: The work has the character of a cross-sectional study. For data analysis, we used the freely available international database of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). To estimate the influence of physical activities on depression, generalized linear regression models for binominal variable were used. Results: The survey involved 58,676 respondents with an average age of 67.3 ± 9.6 years. Of those tested, 55.3 % were women and the rest were men. The strongest relationship between depression was found in activities requiring medium energy expenditure OR (95 % CI) = 0,755 (0,709-0,803). Conclusion: The analyses confirmed that physical activity significantly affects depression in people over 50. Keywords: physical exercise, slump, elderly, mental health.
