Title: Selected physical abilities and golf skills in relation to the performance in elite junior golf players Objectives: The aim of the study was to objectify the level of golf skills and physical abilities and to identify the inter-relationships between the individual determinants of performance during the long-term development of elite junior golf players. The sub-objectives of the thesis were to: develop a valid and reliable golf skills test battery; objectify the level of physical abilities in relation to energy generation during the golf swing; objectify the level of individual golf skills in relation to game performance; and identify key determinants of performance over the long-term development of elite junior golf players. Methods: The thesis consists of one standardization study and two longitudinal-survey studies involving a total of 30 elite junior golfers (13-18 years old). Perennial year testing was conducted in laboratory and field conditions. Participants were measured in the level of individual golf skills using a developed golf skills test battery and also underwent measurements of anthropometric parameters, body composition parameters and physical abilities, more specifically muscle strength of the extensors and flexors of the knee and explosive muscle strength during vertical...
Analysis of the advantage arising from the swing laterality on the PGA Tour
Šuráň, František ; Červinka, Michal (advisor) ; Chadimová, Kateřina (referee)
Focusing on golf stances, the study examines if left-handed players possess advantages due to factors like golf course architecture. Examining a dataset from a prestigious male professional golf tour, we assess laterality's impact on earnings. A dummy variable is established to evaluate the influence of left- handedness, equaling one if a golf player is left-handed and 0 otherwise. The results confirm the underrepresentation of left-handed golf players, which con- trasts with the overrepresentation of left-handers in other sports. The analysis also reveals that strokes gained and driving distance are significant factors in golf player earnings, while the percentage of greens in regulation and our new variable is not. Interestingly, a randomly selected left-handed player tends to earn more and outperform a right-handed player in driving distance but not in the average number of fairways hit in regulation. The findings suggest that left-handers' advantages may be more significant at lower performance levels, where errors and bad shots are more common, leading to greater variations in outcomes between right and left-handed players. Single D-Bus Server for SSSD

Athletic training. Personal performance development and training. Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze performance development and training of Michal Broda during his existing athletic career with focus on training after year 2004. We investigated the use of heart rate monitoring for training optimization. We also discussed training adequacy in terms of annual training cycle. Methods: In our work we used empirical methods of pedagogical research. We obtained different qualitative and quantitative indicators from training documentation and analysed them using mathematical and statistical methods. Heart rate data were proccessed with Polar Precision Performance™ software. This software automatically calculates total loads in each metabolic zone, number of training entries and total training time, elapsed distance, burned calories, total power, speed, maximum and minimum heart rate. Results: We came to a conclusion that Michal Broda's training has been continually improving. We observed a training load increase in both general and specific indicators. We didn't confirm a positive relationship between total distance runned for special endurance and 800-m running performance. Heart rate monitoring helped to find optimal training loads and thus improve running performance. Keywords: 800 meter...

Analysis of the sports game loading by help of volleyball example
Hank, Mikuláš ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Lehnert, Michal (referee)
The aim of this dissertation was to evaluate and statistically compare the data of the distance of movement and player load (PL) with respect to the player specializations and with respect to the result of rallies. The analysis used the method of 3D kinematic motion analysis of a video recording of the official play-off match in the elite women's category. 3D reconstruction accuracy was calculated with a standard deviation of 0.0296 m (0.3%). A total of 14 players were evaluated (age = 25 ± 6 years; height = 182.3 ± 6.2 cm; weight = 72.1 ± 5.8 kg) in a total of 4 sets. 85% of all rallies lasted up to 12.4 s and 95% lasted up to 18 s. The average duration of the rally reached 7.76 ± 5.1 s. In the range of 0.7 m to 2 m was performed 91.8 ± 1.3 % of distance of movement over 0.7 m. In the range of 0 m to 0.7 m, the specialization spiker reached 60.5% of the total distance of movement. For blocker it was 59.8%, setter reached 54.1%, Opposite reached 62.1% and libero 57.9%. The highest ratio of movement was reached by the spiker for the forward direction (35.8%). The highest distance of movement was reached by the setter (1648 m). Players reached at 50 % speed value from 1.32 m/s in the backward direction for the blocker and setter, up to the maximum speed at 50 % for the setter with a value of 2.09 m/s...

Efficient Techniques for Program Performance Analysis
Pavela, Jiří ; Fiedor, Jan (referee) ; Rogalewicz, Adam (advisor)
