This method is mainly used in serious crimes cases where conventional investigative procedures fail. Based on the information obtained at the crime scene, the profiler tries to create as accurate portrait of the unknown offender as possible. Such portrait is known as a psychological profile of the offender and serves primarily to narrow the pool of suspects and point investigators in the right direction. The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the psychological profiling method including its shortcomings and to evaluate the contribution of this method to investigation. The thesis is divided into a total of four chapters. The first chapter explains the concept of psychological profiling itself, provides definitions and general characteristic of the term. Then is described the historical development of this method, abroad and in the Czech Republic. Criminological Aspects of the Drug-related Crime

1 Abstract The thesis is aimed at criminological aspects of drug-related crime. Author has chosen: development and the significant causes of drug-related crime, characteristics of the offenders and crime kontrol as specific aspects to deal with. A special chapter is focused on one specific type of drug - methamphetamin (pervitin). First chapter is introductory and defines basic terminology used in the thesis. Second chapter is focused on develompent of drug-related crime. It specifies the main causes of the crime increase and development of an open drug market. It also contains a statistical analysis and trends. The third chapter deals with drug crime offenders. Author tries to select different points of view to find some typical characteristics of them. He also tries to find some trends (using published criminal career researches) that make them different from other kinds of criminals. The fourth chapter is focused on the actual problems connected with methamphetamin (pervitin). Author explains the main causes that make the Czech republic number one producer of this drug in Europe. He sees a lasting availability of the key precursor - pseudoephedrine as a crucial factor. Prevention of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children as a Pedagogical Problem

The thesis analyses subject matter of commercial sexual exploitation of children and its prevention in school and families. Theoretical part focuses on explanation of terms. It also covers description of presence of the subject in the Czech Republic, legislation and its relationship to the prevention in school and family. Prevention programs are introduced in this thesis as well. The prevention subject has been surveyed through a questionnaire and outcomes were confronted with a hypothesis. At the end of the thesis is pronounced solution that might help pedagogues with subject prevention. GROFOVÁ, Renata. Conditional Sentences to Imprisonment with Supervision - Its Application and Practice of Performance in Terms of the Probation and Mediation Service. Praha: Faculty of Arts of Charles University, 2013. 82 s. Master Degree Thesis. The aim of the Master's thesis is to ascertain how the supervision of conditionally convicted persons is applied and fulfilled. The theoretical part of the thesis analyses the system of the various forms of punishment. The key part of the thesis focuses on Suspended Sentences with surveillance and the application in practice of this form of punishment. The thesis also includes a chapter about the Probation and Mediation Service. The practical part describes the process of examination and the evaluations of the results. The last part of the thesis contains an evaluation of the gained findings and a proposal how to streamline the above mentioned form of sentence in order to make it more effective. The research methods chosen are a research questionnaire survey and the analysis of records. The research sample was compiled out of the employees of the Probation and Mediation Service in Prague and the files on record of the Probation and Mediation Service in Prague. Perception of Violence against Different Age Groups of Children at Primary Schools and Eight-year Grammar School

1. ABSTRACT § Key words: violence, conflict, aggression, cruelty, abuse, neglect, bullying, the perpetrator, the victim, children, adults, seniors, self-harm, suicide In this thesis I would like to focus on how children define violence, what violence includes, how to represent both the offender and victim, what is the difference in the perception of violence against various age groups and how to prevent possible violence. The theoretical part is firstly devoted to the notion of violence or similar terms synonymous to this and to explain them according to Czech and foreign authors. I have then proceeded to topics such as violence against children, adults and seniors, self-harm, suicide and the consequences of violence. In the practical section, I examined the perception of violence among students in primary school compared with students of the same age at a grammar school. I focused on the students of class sixth / ninth grade and first and fourth year of an eight-year grammar school). The survey was not only carried out in schools in the capital city but also in a smaller town.

The issue of an offender's personality in criminology

In the fifth chapter I introduce one of many offender typologies. After that I concentrated on the criminality of youth,its specification,state and structure.The eighth chapter deals with prevention, its meaning and kinds of preventive measures.

Alternatives of Home Violence Settling as seen by the Roman Catholic Church

My dissertation Alternatives of Home Violence Settling deals with various alternatives of how the home violence problems can be settled. The introductory chapter goes through the professional interpretation of the home violence term as well as causes, forms and specific signs of this violence type, being followed by description of its consequences and the myths which have gained a foothold in the general public. The home violence is characterized as a long-term, repeated and escalating physical, mental, or sexual cruelty to persons living in the common household; it takes place between close persons, adult family members, or also life partners. The victims, being exposed to long-term violence, lost their self-confidence, however, their fear and confusion increase; they also suffer from a good many various symptoms as depression, shame, decline of general state of health, or increased suicidal behavior. Chapter two focuses on the characterization of the home violence victims and delinquests as well. As to the victims, these can be everybody, irrespective of their education, age, social position or economic situation - women, seniors and handicapped persons as well as men. The issue of an offender's personality in criminology

v anglickém jazyce The subject of my master's degree thesis is "The Issue of an Offender's Personality in Criminology". The aim of my thesis is disclosing reasons of delinquency from the view of the offender. In the first chapter I focused on basic terms such as what is criminology, criminality, and what defines an offender. In the second chapter I summarized the relevant criminological theories. The next chapter is about typologies of offenders. The fourth chapter, I pay attention to the term "personality", it's structure, term BASIC ID and the motivation of delinquency. The last chapter deals with juvenile criminality, which increased exponentially after the Velvet Revolution in 1989.
