Svobodová, Karolína ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Majorová, Simona (referee)
Title: Exercise with seniors in a retirement home with a special regime Objective: The main aim of the study was to determine whether seniors with cognitive impairment experience improvements that have a statistical significance in selected components of physical fitness after a three-month exercise program. Furthermore, it was checked whether regular physical activity changes their attitude towards exercise. Methods: The study involved 9 probands (3 of them male) aged 72 to 90 years with cognitive impairment. The probands completed a three-month program (April-June 2022) in which they performed group and seated chair exercises twice a week for sixty minutes. At the beginning and end of the intervention program, they underwent an orientation fitness assessment using the senior fitness test and a questionnaire form on health limitations and attitudes toward exercise. Results: The results of the senior fitness test showed that there was a statistically significant improvement in the parameters of lower limb strength, and agility with dynamic balance. Some improvement was seen in the other parameters, but without the statistical significance. Most probands showed a positive change in their attitude towards physical activity. Civic participation of older people in the context of the University of the Third Age
Biláková, Kristýna ; Pospíšilová, Tereza (advisor) ; Benyovszky, Selma (referee)
The thesis "Civic participation of older people in the context of the University of the Third Age" focuses on the role of civic participation in the lives of active older people who attend the University of the Third Age. This role is examined in the context of adult education, specifically through a leisure education program, which is dedicated to educating older people, i.e. the University of the Third Age. From a demographic perspective, the elderly population will continue to grow. This will be unavoidably reflected in the development of civil society in which older people participate. This makes it relevant to pay older people as an active group more research attention. Qualitative data were collected via in-depth interviews. Attention was paid namely to the interviewees' attitudes to and experience of civic participation they have accumulated over their life course. The analysed respondents' accounts indicate that they understand participation as activities related to politics and as politically oriented activities. They attach the greatest importance to political participation. Formal participation also occurs, but the respondents do not stress this participation as they rather take it for granted.
Employment of the elderly
Junová, Lia ; Morávek, Jakub (advisor) ; Štefko, Martin (referee)
1 Employment of the elderly This paper focuses on employment of older people. The issue is tackled in the light of the international documents of the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the European Union. In the following sections the paper analyses French and Czech policies and compares their approach. There are major differences between these two countries in terms of social systems as well as lifestyle of the population. However, France deals with ageing of its population longer than the Czech Republic, therefore its approach may offer an inspiration. The employee representatives traditionally play an important role in France. They also influence the state policy on employment of older people on the basis of the tripartite agreements from 2005 and 2013 respectively. Several action plans on ageing were issued in the Czech Republic. However, there seems to be a lack of political will to introduce proper legislation. The programmes reflect the international documents and recommendations but they are just declarations. On the other hand, the ideas of French agreements are really put in practise. Nevertheless, the French approach cannot be considered a coherent policy of employment of older people. It is rather a set of measures which originated from concessions of the subjects on the labour market The...

Žemlíková, Jana ; Miskolczi, Martina (advisor) ; Průša, Ladislav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with a population aging and the issue of employment of older people in the Czech Republic. Most developed countries, including the Czech Republic face to the aging of the population. This unfavourable demographic progress leads to social and economic problems. Employment of older people is more and more important. The aim of this work is to assess the employment of older workers in the Czech Republic, to outline its expected development with using forecasts of the Czech Statistical Office and propose possible measures that would contribute to its increase. The results of the analysis show that the population in the Czech Republic is rapidly aging and according to the forecasts it will further continue in future. The possible solution could be to apply principles of the age management. These measures should help to increase the employment rate of older people. There are measures relating to the education, working conditions, flexible employment as well as safety and health care at work. According to the measurement results LEA, interest in the problems of elderly people and their position in the labor market has recently increased and the concept of the age management has became familiar in companies, but still it is not sufficient part of the HR strategies within an organization.
