Protection of soft targets in the Czech Republic
KYSELA, Martin
This bachelor thesis entitled Protection of soft targets in the Czech Republic deals with current issues related to the security of soft targets in the Czech Republic. The goal of this thesis is to analyze the security of selected Christmas markets in December 2020. It is necessary to draw attention to the fact that all events which took place in the Czech Republic were affected by pandemic measures due to SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection throughout the whole year 2020, hitherto fairly unchanged to April 2021. These measures also applied to all mass public events that were directly dependent on the development of the pandemic at the time of the Christmas markets. The first aim of this thesis is to analyze security measures of selected public events - dec. 2020 Christmas markets in towns, namely: Praha, České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Písek and Týn nad Vltavou. The selection procedure of cities mentioned above was carried out in the way that capital, regional and district cities were represented. Thus, the result is an evaluation of the degree of vulnerability of the Christmas market and their mutual comparison. The second aim of this thesis is to devise a leaflet that would clearly inform the public about the basic principles of behaviour in an attack on a soft target. Apart from the goals mentioned above, to investigate whether is the security/protection of soft targets at the selected public events in the Czech Republic is sufficient, statistical research has been implemented. The method of qualitative analysis of available literature is used to carry out this thesis. For the qualitative research, a selected number of Christmas markets was chosen concerning the situation at the time of the Christmas markets, the theoretical saturation was fulfilled. Based on the research results achieved in this thesis, there is a lot of room for improvement of existing security measures. Moreover, the protection of soft targets ought not to be belittled, given the current developments in both local and world politics. The results of this bachelor thesis can be used to obtain a comprehensive view of the issues addressed and the possible practical use of information obtained through research to improve the security policies in public events.
Analysis of the international trade with Prosimians
BAŽANTOVÁ, Jiřina
Prosimian (Strepsirrhini) are highly endangered with many species facing extinction. Families Cheirogaleidae, Indriidae, Lemuridae, Lepilemuridae, the genus Nycticebus and the species Daubentonia madagascariensis are included in the CITES Appendix I while the others are included in Appendix II. The endangerment of Prosimian is caused mainly by anthropogenic pressure (loss of natural habitat, hunting, catches for pet trade) but also climatic phenomena (cyclones, drought). The endangerment of Prosimian has been on the increase recently due to the trade for photographic purposes. The aim of this work was the analysis of trade with Prosimian between 2000 - 2017 and detailed analysis of trade with the genus Nycticebus between 1975 - 2017. The analysis has demonstrated that the most exported family was the family Lemuridae, with Czech Republic being the largest exporter in the observed period. The genus Lemur was exported the most from the EU by Czech Republic and France. Outside EU, the genus Galago was exported by South Africa the most. The volume of trade in the analyzed period for all Prosimian was the largest for the genera Lemur, Galago and Varecia. Hong Kong became the most common export country and the USA became the most common import country for the genus Nycticebus. Within the genus Nycticebus the living individuals were traded the most, who were exported the most for the purposes of zoos. Exported slow lorises came predominantly from captive breeding. The volume of trade was the most significiant in years 1987 and 1988.

ANALYSIS OF MARKETING ENVIRONMENT IN VÝSTAVIŠTĚ ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE, A. S.
SUCHÁ, Veronika
Exhibitions and trade fairs have formed an integral part of the market in the Czech Republic. No matter whether its size is small, medium or large, every company becomes increasingly interested in knowledge of its environment (both internal and external). What is also important is correct assessment of internal conditions and their optimal connection with the external environment factors. The companies do not take up with the statement that there are strong and weak points, opportunities and risks. It is important to examine the factors, assess them and use the ascertained facts to increase prosperity. I used the analysis of the Porter{\crq}s Five Forces Model to ascertain the company micro-environment. I divided the collected information into two groups. The first group concerned the information about the company itself while the second one characterized the company environment (customers, suppliers and competitors). The first important group which forms a part of the company environment is the customers. The customers of the exhibition grounds in České Budějovice can be divided into two groups: the first group consists of exhibitors and traders, and the second one is the visitors. The company has various promotional and advertising printed materials elaborated by its suppliers. As far as the competitors in the Czech Republic are concerned, these are particularly the fair managements that organize fairs on the same or similar topics. As the macro-environment of the company, the whole of the Czech Republic can be defined, however, the most important part is the region of South Bohemia. In this region, the factors characteristic for the area, such as lower economic power, lower purchase power and considerable saving behaviour of the region population, have to be taken into account.
Abundance of and threats to the snow leopard in various regions of its occurrence
Valentová, Kamila ; Kindlmann, Pavel (advisor) ; Hulva, Pavel (referee)
Snow leopard (Panthera uncia) is an endangered species and its population size is steadily declining. This thesis attempts to introduce and analyse the main factors threating its survival with reference to each country of its occurrence: China, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia. To conserve the remaining snow leopard populations, it is necessary to detect its distribution in various areas. Here, recent data about its worldwide distribution are presented. Snow leopard has a very secretive lifestyle, which makes estimation of its abundance quite difficult. Therefore, I also present here an overview of methods, such as sign survey, capture-recapture, predator:prey biomass ratios, photo-capture rate and genetic analyses, used for estimation of abundance of snow leopard with reference to conducted studies. I discuss their advantages and disadvantages under different conditions. Key words: snow leopard, abundance, threats, worldwide distribution, conservation
