Volumetric Efects Accelerated on GPU

This thesis deals with simulation and rendering of fluid based volumetric effects, especially effect of fire and smoke. Computations are accelerated on graphics card using modern graphics API with motivation to achieve realistic visual results as well as physically correct calculations. Implemented volumetric effects are distributed as dynamic library which allows addition of these effects to existing applications.

Aspects of certification areas for take-off and landing

The Bachelor´s thesis targets to specify conditions for certification of the airport area according to requirements of L14 and LA3 regulations and subsequently to apply them to the specific area. This work determines conditions for take-offs and landings, that can be executed at any land. These conditions are contained in Act No. 49/1997 Coll., civil aviation law in Czech Republic. Next topic contained in the thesis is the most common types of airplane that could use the airport area in the future. It also determines their take-off and landing flight performance. In this context there are defined take-off and landing and conditions affecting their length. The chosen airport area is described in the main part of the thesis, primarily its situation and parameters. There are also terms under which the land could be used and certificated.

Business Plan

This diploma thesis deals with the design of a business plan for the establishment and operation of a guesthouse in South Moravia, more precisely in the wine village of Mikulčice near the Slovak border. Part of the work is to perform analyses of external and internal influences affecting the business using selected analyses that are described in the first part of the work. The results of these analyses are elaborated in the second part of this work, which also includes primary research of demand by means of a questionnaire survey of potential guests. In the last part of the work, a separate business plan is then processed according to the template described in the first part of the work. The business plan is based on the analyses that have been carried out and it includes a realistic proposal for the construction and launch of the guesthouse together with its marketing and financial strategy.

Issues of care for a morbidly obese patient in standard beds and intensive care units.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of care for a morbidly obese patient in standard units and intensive care units. The work is focused on how nurses in standard units and intensive care units care for a morbidly obese patient. The theoretical part consists of the characteristics of obesity, examination methods, treatment, the possibilities of prevention of obesity and selected aspects in the care for a morbidly obese patient in standard units and in the intensive care unit. The research part focuses on the obstacles which nurses perceive in providing care for a morbidly obese patient and on how nurses care for the hygiene, skin, nutrition, excretion and mental needs of a morbidly obese patient. The aim of the thesis is to map the issue of nursing care for a morbidly obese patient. This part was processed in the form of qualitative research survey using semi-structured interviews. Five nurses from the standard ward and four nurses from the intensive care units took part in the interviews. After obtaining the necessary information, it was processed in the form of open coding and the creation of six categories. The results show that the complexity of care is determined by patient's mobility, state of health and his cooperation. Other obstacles are his proportions, lack of staff and the need for more time for overall care. For healthcare professionals, care is more physically demanding when handling the patient during hygiene, after excretion and during positioning. The nurses regularly monitor the skin. They consult patient's nutrition with a dietitian. They use interview with the patient to identify his mental needs. Based on the findings, a brochure for nurses was created, which focuses on the most common problems in the care for obese patients, which nurses may encounter in their practice.

Influence of nursing on traumatology department and attending patients needs

The bachelor's thesis "The influence of the work of the nurses of the trauma department on their needs" consists of partly theoretical and partly practical. The theoretical part presents the field of traumatology, nurses work and holistic concept of human needs. Three goals were set in the bachelor's thesis. The first goal was to find out how the nurses work on trauma department affects their needs. Then identify the obstacles that prevent the nurses working in the trauma department to meet their needs. The third goal was tofind out what support nurses working in the trauma department perceive in satisfaction of their needs. The practical part of the work was performed by qualitative research, data collection techniques semi-structured interview. The interview was conducted with 9 nurses in order to fulfill required sample. The analysis and processing of data by open coding, the "pencil and paper" method. The obtained codes were classified into individual categories, in one case it turned out to be classified into subcategories. Analyzes of the survey data showed that nurses usually do not feel influenced their work or are affected by the difficulty of the shift. They may also be sometime before the shift feeling stressed or feeling a lack of free time. For an obstacle in meeting the needs of the nurse consider time constraints, overly demanding patients, unfinished work in handing over the shift, unsatisfactory team or unexpected situation. As a morale booster nurses usually receive support by compliment from their co-workers and superiors in the form of praise or good communication. The results of the bachelor's thesis will serve to increase awareness of the complexity of the work of nurses in the trauma department in connection with meeting their needs and at the same time to support nurses from among the managers. Findings will be also possible to use as a basis for the design of a seminar for nurses.

The author is concerned with the history of intercultural communication and its definition, as well as with problems that may occur when two different cultures communicate. In addition, great attention is paid to communication between English and Czech people, where the author deals not only with the differences in languages, but also with the diverse nature of these two cultures. On the basis of a research made with help of a questionnaire, the author confronts two different samples of Czech university students of English. A traveller during the Přemyslid dynasty

The thesis "A Traveller During the Přemyslid Dynasty" addresses the phenomenon of travel in the Middle Ages. A precise time frame is implied in the title with attention paid to the Přemyslid period and the narrative sources that describe it. The testimony provided by chronicles and legends is supplemented with knowledge from academic literature. The aim of this thesis is to present a comprehensive picture of life on the road and to address every circumstance that a traveller could encounter along his journeys. Starting with a description of the medieval landscape, which sets the basic conditions for any form of travel during this period. The thesis also focuses on the main reasons for travelling and the concept of travel in the medieval imagination, which then leads into the necessary preparations that had to be made before the beginning of each journey and the obstacles that had to be overcome along the way (most problems were faced when crossing a river or other bodies of water). Other chapters are dedicated to old roads and their legal status, orientation and to various forms of accommodation during longer journeys. A separate chapter focuses on pilgrims and describes the most important pilgrimage sites of the Middle Ages: Jerusalem, Rome, and Santiago de Compostela. A quick outline of the...
