Klekerová, Vlasta ; Pospíšil, Ctirad Václav (advisor) ; Novotný, Vojtěch (referee)
The Diplom's Thesis "Mariology of Louise M. Grignion de Montfort and Leo XIII" The Marian worshiper Louis Maria Grignion of Montfort worked in France as a Catholic priest and missionary at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Grignion, the promoter of the rosary prayer and marian veneration, which Pope Leo XIII blessed in 1888, on the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood, left in his writings a spiritual message and taching, the elements of which we find in the works of Pope Leo XIII. This Pope is the author of Marian encyclicals promoting the rosary prayer. The tematic similarity in his view of the figure of the Virgin Mary and her influence in history appears in both, Grignion and Leo XIII, in the field of mariological expression and in the inseparable trinitological basis of mariology. The first chapter of this work contains the biography of the priest and missionary Louis M. Grignion of Montfort. It is followed by a biography of Gioacchino Pecci, the pope of the Roman Catholic Church since 1887. The second chapter clarifies the periodic conditionality of Grignion's works and outlines his partial mariology and Marian veneration. The third chapter maps the thinking of Louis M. Grignion implicitly present in the Marian encyclicals of Leo XIII on a general level and then in the...

Nováková, Veronika ; Frintová, Dita (advisor) ; Sedláček, Miroslav (referee)
Mediation as an Alternative Form of Dispute Resolution, Abstract, Keywords Abstract My Rigorosum Thesis "Mediation as an alternative form of dispute resolution" reflects the legal regulation of mediation in force in the legal order of the Czech Republic, analyses this regulation and subjects it to critical assessment. It is possible to state that mediation and its use has been existing in our society since time immemorial, however it is necessary to point out that modern society got to know mediation better only in connection with its legislative alteration in the Act on Mediation which implemented the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2008 on certain aspects of mediation in civil and commercial matters. Following this circumstance, this alternative becomes supported and mediation services are deliberately used. With regard to the above stated, the purpose of this Rigorosum Thesis is to determine whether the current regulation of mediation in the Czech legal order is efficient or not and at the same time, based on the made analysis, the Thesis proposes how to remove the application as well as interpretation problems contained in the current legal regulation. The Rigorosum Thesis is coherently divided into chapters which logically follow one another and each of them deals with...

Nuclear receptors in regulation of gene expression, development and metabolism in Celegans elegans.
Yilma, Petr ; Kostrouch, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Pompach, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Ondřej (referee)
5 Abstract Genetic mechanisms of regulation of gene expression form the basis for proper development, function of organisms and their responses to variable life conditions. However, they are relatively slow. Life processes that require a fast response to the changing environmental and metabolic conditions are mostly executed on the level of proteins especially their posttranslational modifications and protein- protein interactions. The goal of the experimental work that led to the presented thesis consisted in exploitation of the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans for analysis of regulation of gene expression by transcription factors from the protein family of nuclear receptors. The model system C. elegans enables very efficient experimental procedures in the field of genetics, genomics and functional analysis of phenotypes. In the experimental work connected with this thesis, I studied the regulation of gene expression under specific experimental conditions from the perspective of advanced functional proteomics and I focused on the employment of separation methods and methods of advanced proteomics, especially by mass spectrometry. In the first part of the work, I characterized the nuclear receptor NHR-60 on the protein level. This nuclear receptor is expressed as two protein forms with a mass of 50 kDa...

Mediation analysis in statistics
Horáková, Lucie ; Hendl, Jan (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
Diploma thesis "Mediation Analysis in Sociology" deals with mediation analysis and possibilities of its application in sociology, depending on the type of the dependent variable that enters the analysis. In the first case the dependent variable is continuous - in this case the SPSS software and its PROCESS add-on are used to directly analyse the mediation. In the second case the dependent variable that enters the analysis is binary - the PROCESS add-on doesn't allow this option; therefore, the analysis is performed in SPSS software by the set of linear and logistic regressions according to the Baron & Kenny method. Two case studies from the field of sociology, GSS (General Social Survey) and ISSP (International Social Survey Programme), are used in the thesis and the consequences of the transition from continuous dependent variable to binary are examined using the secondary analysis of these data.
