Nemčička Winery Center - Industrial buildings
Otáhal, Miloslav ; Myslín, Jiří (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor) ; Sobotka, Jindřich (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is a design of new-build winemaking center in Němčičky situated on the cadastral territory Němčičky u Hustopečí. The goal of this work is to create an architectural and urban conception, which will be an attraction for both local and distant winemakers. Due to the surrounding landscape the building is designed as inconspicuous and the purpose is to rather blend in with the landscape than to subdue it. For this reason the object SO 01 (the winemaking center) has a façade made of mirror panels Ruukki in which the surrounding vineyards should reflect. The opposite is the object SO 02 (the lookout tower) which creates landscape dominance.

The objective of this Bachelor Thesis is the design of the new building of the winery center near the village Němčičky in the district Břeclav. The Bachelor Thesis expands and specifies an architectural study which I drafted as my AG32 course during the winter semester of my second-year study up to the level of Documentation for Planning Permission and Documentation for Execution of the Project. The assignment was to design a new building of the winery and winery center, south of the Němčičky. It was supposed to be a dominant building on the hillside of a vineyard, which leads around the wine-growing hiking trails. This winery center should popularize local wine making and a location known as the Blue mountains. The building should be able to produce of electricity, preferably on the wind base. Next there should be a lookout tower that would create an interesting tourist destination from whole center. The design concept was based on spiritual symbolism, where wine became the core of everything. The building should its mass solution to be a temple, where the lookout tower is a banner and a beacon, which the summons its sheep while providing a view of the country covered with vineyard. The design is two-story object of winery serving as a place to present the brand, sale wine and wine tasting. The tower is freely accessible to the public. Center is wooden frame structure with a green roof and lamellar facade, which supports the connection between nature, wine and the building itself. The lookout tower is steel with wooden lathing that connects both buildings.
Assessing the impact of planned buildings on the landscape character
ŠTĚPÁNEK, Milan
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to assess the influence of the building's intention on landscape character. In the theoretical part, concepts such as countryside and landscape character, their anchoring in the legislation, are explained. The methodological procedures used for assessment of the landscape character are also described. Practical part is own evaluation and assessment according to the method of spatial and character differentiation of territory, compiled by doc. Ivan Vorel and his colleagues in 2004. First, the characteristics of the territory are determined. Then, by visualization, determined the landscape area concerned, and determined the landscape character values in it. The result is an assessment of the influence of the intention of building the lookout tower on the Třemšín hill, on the landscape in its surroundings, ie in Rožmitál.
The Forest Viewtower in Beskydy
Kamrádová, Michaela ; Straka,, Bohumil (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
Topic of this Master's Thesis is a design and a statical evalution of a load bearing structure of an observation tower in Beskydy mountains. Ground plan of this structure is in a shape of a nonagon with a non-roofed interior space. Height of the observation tower is 38,5 m, the shape of a ground plan doesn't change with a radius of a circumscribed circle of 12 m. The structure is designed from glued laminated timber, solid wood and steel. Columns bear horizontal beams and their stiffness is ensured by horizontal and inclined reinforcing beams. Main load bearing columns, upper and lower beams are designed from glued laminated timber GL24h. Upper beams and beams of a gallery are designed from glued laminated timber GL36h. Horizontal stiffener is designed from solid wood C24. Central column, inclined beams, stairway, water slide cantilevers, rod and central rod are designed from steel of a strength class S235. Cantilever for gallery is designed from steel of a strength class S355. Connections are designed from steel elements. Statical evaluation, technical report and construction drawing are included
Steel lookout tower
Kábrt, Michal ; Melcher, Jindřich (referee) ; Karmazínová, Marcela (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis was to make a structural design of steel-load-carrying structure of steel lookout tower, in the grounds of domestic brewery in Humpolec. Lookout tower will be part of newly built centre for customers of the brewery. The layout and shape of the load-carrying structure of steel lookout tower follow the brewery chimney with height of 32.7 m with circular ground plan and outside diameter of 3.5 m in the heel and 2.3 m at the top. The chimney is independent of the construction of the lookout tower. The ground plan and dimensions of the lookout tower were considered taking into account the required spacing of the structure from adjacent buildings and ensuring sufficient dimensions for the required passage between the future lookout tower and the existing building of the boiler room. RFEM was used for calculation internal forces and assessment on individual structural elements, according to the valid Eurocodes.

Design of the territory and revitalization location
The Viewing Tower in South Moravia
Turková, Martina ; Bajer, Miroslav (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the design and static assessment of a lookout tower in The Brno Zoological Garden situated on the hill called Mniší hora. The construction of the lookout tower is meant to be of a circular ground plan and its overall height is 31 m. The construction was designed in two variants. For both methods was used a combination of steel and solid or glued laminated timber. For detailed elaboration was selected only one variant. The lookout tower was assessed in a Scia Engineer 15.1 software.
Lookout tower Vršek nad Zlínem
Hanáčík, Jan ; Pilgr, Milan (referee) ; Barnat, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and assessment of the load-bearing structure of the lookout tower. The tower is 37.45 m high with the layout in the shape of a regular octagon. The object is located within the city of Zlín. The project is provisionally drawn in two variants. Hand-static calculation, drawings and engineering report is processed only for one variant. The variants differ in the structure of staircase. The thesis is drawn up pursuant to the standards of ČSN EN.
Static and dynamic assessment of an outlook tower construction
Valíček, Jan ; Kala, Jiří (referee) ; Salajka, Vlastislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with static and dynamic analysis of an lookout tower construction. For dynamic analysis a computational model in ANSYS software is created. Static analysis is performed by Scia Engineer software. Both of this software use finite element method. It is also focused on wind load determination by Eurocode 1, structural factor calculation, modal analysis and vortex shedding. Verification of selected parts according to Eurocodes is included.
The importance of lookout towers for tourism development in Central Bohemia Region
Křížová, Andrea ; Netková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Petrů, Zdenka (referee)
The central theme of the thesis are look-out towers and their use in tourism. The thesis is divided into four main sections that follow the content itself. The opening chapter deals with the general definition of tourism industry and current trends of traveling in the Czech Republic. The following chapter is focused on a selected region of the Central Bohemia in terms of status and differences in the travel industry. The third part focuses on the historical development, construction of look-out towers and a description of the most famous towers in the Central Bohemia. The attractiveness of 23 selected observation towers and their potential for development and growth of tourism was examined in the practical part of the thesis. The analysis evaluates the observation towers in light of technical parameters, construction, quality of service in the area, information system and promotion. To illustrate the current situation of lookouts in the Czech Republic was connected the opinion of expert for towers Jan Nouza (co-authored a famous paper, "Man, look around"), which is expressed by means of a questionnaire to the specific deficiencies and the importance of towers in the Czech Republic.
