Title: Quality of life of women with urinary stress incontinence Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to assess quality of life of women after conservative therapy and chirurgic therapy of urinary stress incontinence in Brno-město and Brno- venkov district. Methods: We did a questionnaire survey on quality of life by using a standardized questionnaire I-QoL (Urinary Incontinence Quality-of-life questionnaire). The questionnaire survey was conducted in patients after conservative or surgical therapy by TVT or TOT tape. Subjectively perceived quality of life of these patients after completion of the therapy was observed. The results were compared between the groups undergoing conservative and surgical therapy by TVT or TOT tape. Results: After the output assessment of quality of life of patients after the treatment, we found that there is a difference in the quality of life of patients treated conservatively and surgically by TVT or TOT tape. Patients treated surgically had higher quality of life than patients treated conservatively by 9%. We also found that there is a difference in the physical, mental and social scores of the groups. The respondents who were treated conservatively had lower score in all evaluated areas with the greatest difference in the physical area and the smallest difference...

Title: Flexor tendon pulley lesion as a most frequent injury in sport climbing Specification of the problem: This thesis is focused on the most frequent injury of the hand in sport climbing. It describes the mechanism of the injury and possibilities of conservative and surgical treatment according to the given guidelines in dependence on its relevance. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is the literary review of accessible literary resources from the field of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the hand and flexor tendon pulley in connection with a sport activity. Furthermore it is aimed on an analysis why is the flexor tendon pulley injury the most frequent injury in sport climbing, and on methods how to treat this injury in the most effective way from the beginning till the return to the full performance based on therapeutic guidelines created by Dr. Schöffl nad Dr. Hochholzer. This thesis should serve as a therapeutic manual for the Czech sport climbers suffering from this type of injury, which is generally very often underestimated and not treated sufficiently. Methods: This diploma thesis has descriptively-analytical character and is structured as a literary review. Keywords: tendon pulley, hand, sport climbing, physiotherapy, conservative treatment
Effectivness of conservative and microdiscetomy treatment for patients with lumbar disc herniation
Homotetski, Denis ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
Title Effectiveness of conservative and microdiscetomy treatment for patients with lumbar disc herniation Background Lumbar disc herniation is a common cause of the radiating leg pain and related disabilities that affects people mostly in the middle age. Patients that suffer from lumbar disc herniation respond well to conservative treatment, but for some amount of them surgery could be considered if conservative care is failed after 6 weeks. Although variety of conservative methods that common available in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation, there is conflicting evidence that one type of treatment is clearly superior to others and disagreement over superiority of either surgical intervention or longer conservative treatment for patients with persistent symptoms lasting more than 6 weeks without serious neurological deficit. Aim The main purpose of this thesis is to assess the efficacy of main types of conservative and surgery treatments of the lumbar disc herniation and factors that influence clinical outcomes in patients undergoing this treatment. Method This thesis is a literature review, reviewing articles from relevant journals and books. The relevant sources were searched and collected from database of PubMed, Cochrane library and ScienceDirect from beginning of 2012 to the middle of...

Iliotibial band syndrome
Opichalová, Klára ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Michalčinová, Klaudia (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the problematics of the iliotibial band syndrome. The iliotibial band syndrome is one of the most common knee injuries in runners, but we can also come across cyclists or triathletes with this injury. The thesis divides into two parts. The existing data and information about the matter are presented in the theoretical part. Anatomy and function of the iliotibial band, aetiology of the syndrome and its development, the mechanism of the overuse and then final diagnostics and treatment are described. In the practical part is presented a case study of an amateur cyclist with the iliotibial band syndrome, which constitutes an initial examination, treatment and autotherapy plan and subsequent final examination. After 10 therapy sessions, the patient did not notice any changes in his condition, but he gave a lower pain rating than at the beginning and the range of active and passive movement on the affected leg was increased.
Complex rehabilitation after replacement of anterior cruciate ligament of knee joint and return to preoperative acitivites
BOOROVÁ, Pavla
As the topic of my bachelor thesis I chose "Comprehensive rehabilitation after replacement of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint and return to preoperative activities". I chose this topic because the rupture of LCA is very common especially with athletes with whom I would like to work in the future. Another reason was the fact that I have a personal experience with the LCA rupture and I would like to get more into this issue. The anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology of the knee joint is described in the theoretical part. I consider the chapter in which I deal with the mechanism of LCA injury interesting. I believe that this information could be beneficial not only for athletes. An important chapter the treatment of LCA injury is the one, where I describe both operative and conservative treatment and a chapter dedicated to physiotherapy after LCA sculpture, where I describe the various stages of rehabilitation and the techniques and procedures used. For the practical part I chose the method of qualitative research. The research group contained a total of four patients after LCA rupture. Two of them were treated operatively, and two conservatively. The therapy with surgically treated patients took place between 5th -10th postoperative week, and monitoring conservatively treated patients lasted 4 weeks. All patients were athletic people aged 32 to 52 years. Initial and final kinesiological examinations and appropriate therapy were performed within research. The aim of this work was to determine an appropriate rehabilitation plan that was optimal for patients after LCA surgery and to map alternative methods of treatment for LCA injury. The results of the research show that in the surgically solved patients regular exercise primarily resulted in an increase in joint extent, muscle strength and stability in the knee joint. In the conservatively solved patients we managed to ensure a better stability of the knee joint above all, which was most affected in both patients. This work can be used as a study material for physiotherapists in their clinical practice or for physiotherapy students interested in this issue.
