School maturity and postponement of school attendance and speech disorders

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity, the communication level of preschool children and the postponement of school attendance from the point of view of speech therapy and school counseling facilities. The theoretical part contains three chapters devoted to topics necessary for defining the qualification work. The content of the first chapter is an introduction to the theoretical framework of communication and child development from birth to preschool age with a primary focus on speech development. The second chapter defines impaired communication ability from the general basis to the specifics of communication of children in preschool and younger school age. The third chapter analyzes the support of preschool children's communication skills, the area of school readiness with the examination of school maturity in a pedagogical-psychological counseling center and postponement of school attendance. In the practical part, the methodology of qualitative research and the research investigation itself are presented. From a methodological point of view, we worked with the analysis of data obtained through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a child psychologist and a special pedagogue from a pedagogical-psychological consultancy. The paper and the research project particularly aim to analyse a development of communication for the children with autistic spectrum disorders from the view of clinical speech-language pathology. The present thesis deals with the issue of providing speech-language therapies for people suffering from autism spectrum disorders. The paper and the research project particularly aim to analyse a speech-language intervention for children with an autism spectrum disorder from the view of clinical speech-language pathology. To carry out the research, five hypotheses were suggested. The hypotheses relate to clients with an ASD, to what extent specialists are informed about the issue, consecutive education of speech- language pathologists, use of alternative and augmentative communication and gaining information about ASD during university studies. This thesis is focused on the application of art therapy in the field of special education. Gradually, it focuses on individual fields of special education and expands on the applicability of art therapy in speech therapy intervention. The theoretical part aims to define art therapy as part of special education. It describes the development and intertwining of three different areas: fine arts, psychotherapy and education. Defines the term of special indication of art therapy and approaches the specifics of art therapy in individual fields of special education. It also focuses on the main features of the drawing of people with disabilities. The thesis focuses next on the field of speech therapy, where it tries to make visible some parallels between the development of drawing and the developmental stages of character drawing and the developmental stages of speech. This work deal with application of art therapy and gradually focuses on individual fields of special education and extends application of art therapy within speech therapy. The aim of theoretical part of this work is to define art therapy as a part of special pedagogy. It describes development and intersection of three different fields: visual art, psychotherapy and education. It defines the term of special indication of art therapy and describes the specifics of art therapy in individual fields of special education. The aim of the work and the research is to analyze speech intervention for adults with dementia and family cooperation in clinical speech therapy. The research is conducted through evaluation of questionnaires filled in by family members of patients studied and the subsequent evaluation of the benefits of speech therapy intervention provided both clinical speech therapist and trained family members. When processing techniques were used document analysis, analysis of results of operations, interviews with family members and observation. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate, how much they may be useful interested, informed and cooperating family and how they can be routed speech therapy.
