This Master Thesis "The animals in the cathedral. Architectural sculpture of animals and fantastical creatures by parlerian lodge in the St. Vitus Cathedral, their symbols and iconography" looks into the architectural sculpture of animal's motifs and motifs of fantastical Creatures. The goal of this work is to summarize recent aspects of research about this theme, explain in more detail individually motifs of animal's and their Iconography and their meaning for Cathedral of St. Vitus. Also this thesis want to explain how could this special animal's motifs fit into the places, where are they have been situated. Their Iconography is taken with larger perspective, by literature's reception from antique over czech medieval age. Concerning animals and fantastic Creatures in the southern vestibule - pelican and phoenix; an owl in the Crown Chamber; gryphon and fight between cat and dog in the inner triforium; an eagle, an unicorn, a horse with bird's legs, a phoenix, a pelican, a stag, a lion, a gryphon, a lioness, a bear, a "cat" and three chimera in the outer triforium; a lion, a dog, a dragon and an eagle in buttresses and at least a dragon and a goat on the Big Tower. The Devil in Prague - Prague legends on television

The bachelor's thesis focuses on elaboration of Devil in Prague series, made in 1996 in production of Czech Television. The aim is to study extent of synthesis of legends and facts in series, the source of information's and inspiration to writers. At the same time, I will try to find a contemporary critical review and some reception of spectators. Series are divided into individual stories - legends of Prague, so as chapters in this work, whereas second chapter focuses on story about Jesuit college, that goes through all other stories. Every chapter describe the legend and then its genesis. The thesis is based on specialised literature and visits of movie archive of Czech Television.

St Vitus' Cathedral in Prague: Liturgy, Symbolism and Architectural Imitation in Medieval Bohemia In this thesis, the focus is put on the Wenceslas Chapel in St Vitus' Cathedral, the unusual design of which seems to have two levels of meanings: On the one hand, it was probably designed as a recreation of an earlier rotunda that had been founded by St Wenceslas. On the other hand, it seems that the intention was made the chapel and the whole cathedral would resemble the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, where the Calvary Chapel occupied the same position as the Wenceslas Chapel. This was most likely inspired by presence of the Imperial insignia containing the valuable Passion relics that Charles had acquired in 1350 and placed in the basilica, probably near the Wenceslas Chapel. Perhaps from that reason Charles had the new Gothic chapel decorated with semi-precious stones, because its red spots were associated with the blood of Christ and the Passion. The Wenceslas Chapel together with two Passion chapels at Karlstein Castle, containing Charles IV's private passion treasure, gave rise to the "Passion" architecture of the Luxembourg period. Typology of tomb sculptures in the 16th century

This Bachelor thesis deals with Renaissance tomb sculpture in Czech lands. The thesis first describes types of Renaissance tomb sculptures and mentions symbols and motifs frequently used in that period as well as manners of figures depicted. These findings are summed up using particular examples of the aristocratic sculpture of the House of Lobkowicz and Pernštejn. Each selected tombstone and epitaph is described and set in the context, while attention is also paid to the history of the church where the sculpture is situated and the family buried. At the end, tombstones of the two houses are compared and set in their historical context.

The symbols gallery in chorus of Prags cathedral This thesis expleins about a heraldic decoration under a inner triforium of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. This decoration, which began to form from the Renaissance, is veluable but it was offer overlooked. This decoration is set containing 38 provincial symbols.
