Dalhaus, Jarmila ; Macek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Beneš, Ladislav (referee)
The central topic of this thesis is how the members of the Brethren Church community in South Moravia experienced the functioning of their Church community during the Covid-19 pandemic. Part 1 deals with the theoretical aspects. In chapter one the author presents the legislative context of the pandemic and its impact on the Christian Church community in general. The second chapter gives a brief insight into how the new law requirements were put into practice by the Church board. The third chapter presents an overview of the South Moravian community and the impact of the pandemic requirements on its community life. The practical part focuses on qualitative research and attempts to capture the actual experience of members of the South Moravian community. As a research method the Interpretative phenomenological analysis was chosen and based on semi-structured interviews with respondents covering the following topics: worship on the Zoom platform, monitoring of the community members in need and mutual care during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially during the second pandemic wave lockdown. The research sample consists of five respondents between 25-72 years of age. Midlife crisis from the perspective of psychotherapists: interpretative phenomenological analysis
Žochová, Kateřina ; Chrz, Vladimír (advisor) ; Krejčí, Josef (referee)
The thesis deals with the experience of psychotherapists with the midlife crisis in their clients. The theoretical part deals with the midlife crisis and selected psychotherapeutic approaches. The empirical part is based on qualitative research and is realized by the method of interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA). The research included three semi-structured interviews with psychotherapists who differ in theoretical orientation, namely Gestalt, SUR, and Pesso Boyden. The aim of the research was to understand the specific experiences of psychotherapists with the midlife crisis and whether their perception of these experiences corresponds to the psychotherapeutic approach. Elements from the narrative approach in the research were used in the data analysis. The results are summarized in a discussion, where they are also processed together with theoretical concepts and selected research. Based on this research, it was found that all three psychotherapists agree that there are increased changes between the ages of 40 and 50, which can result in some of the symptoms often referred to as midlife crisis, but in explaining the nature of the problems are significantly different. To some extent, we can say that their perception of the concept of the midlife crisis is influenced by the chosen...
Existencial Themes of Religious Seniors: Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis
Tupý, Jiří ; Janošová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Vágnerová, Marie (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the existential themes of religious seniors. In the theoretical part the notions of 'spirituality' and 'religiosity' are discussed. The following chapters are aimed at the old age in connection to spirituality, personality development and existential questions. The data obtained through semi structured interviews with the religious seniors (n = 8, 6 females and 2 males, average age 82.25 years) are analysed and interpreted by the means of interpretative phenomenological analysis in the research part. The analysis and interpretations answer research tasks specified on broader basis as follows: a) what is characteristic for the faith of the interviewed respondents and what were the changes of faith throughout their lives; b) the way the seniors have been coping with existential themes throughout their lives, some of these being especially urgent in this age period: the meaning of life, hope for the future, the meaning of pain and suffering, coping with the mortality of themselves as well as with the one of their relatives and friends, and dealing with solitude.

The aim of this thesis was to present the experience of living with a person with BPD. Qualitative research, using the semi-structured type of interview, was conducted with three respondents, one man and two women. The data was evaluated using interpretative phenomenological analysis. The results show the negative effects of contact with the individual with the BPD and the psychological burden is also evident. The thesis could be beneficial for social and health workers who come into contact with people with the BPD and their loved ones within their practice. At the end of the thesis step are mentioned through which each of us can contribute to the improvement of the situation.
Social workers and Their Romish Identity Perception in Providing Services to Clients of the Same Ethnic Group
Vlková, Dorota ; Krahulcová, Beáta (advisor) ; Jaluška, Aleš (referee)
The categories of 'ethnicity' or 'Roma' could obscure the whole topic, as they may suggest an idea that the socially excluded are somehow special or unrecognizable. It is therefore very important to use these categories clearly and specifically. That is what I am trying to do in this thesis. The theoretical part is divided into three main parts: the dynamic model of practice, culturally sensitive social work and the chapter entitled Roma. In the first part, the dynamic model, I try to have a look at the practical implementation of social work as described by Karen Healy (from page 10 onwards). I also explore the areas that influence the interactions between the social worker and their client. The dynamic model is focused on professional goals, which are made up of four areas: the institutional context, the needs and expectations of the service users and the community, the professional foundation, and an emerging framework for practice that develops through critical reflection on professional experience. These four elements further interact within the framework of the professional goal. I have also included a subsection where I attempt to define social work and its relationship to social services (p. 19). In the next chapter, I describe the culturally sensitive social work (from p. 25) on which the...
Resilience in the elderly in the Institute for visually impaired "Palata"
Bozděchová, Kristýna ; Chrz, Vladimír (advisor) ; Krejčí, Josef (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to understand and map how elderly people cope with adversity that this stage of life unavoidably brings with it. The first part of the thesis - the theoretical background, is based on literary sources that try to define concepts like "resilience", "old age", "institutional care for the elderly" and "visual disorders". The empirical data has been obtained through semi-structured deep interviews with four selected clients of the Retirement home för visually impaired people "Palata". The evaluation of the data has been done thanks to the qualitative approach of the interpretative fenomenological analysis that helps us comprehend how a person creates meaning of one's lived experience and thus understand the individual point of view on subjective experiences. The interviews have enabled us to define the categories that have appeared most frequently and represent a significant source of mental resilience - family, social interactions, display of gratitude towards staff, responsibility/external support, acceptance/satisfaction, moral values, leisure activities, accentuation of small life events and integrity. These categories have been described in more detail based on specialized literature. As a conclusion we have summarized the major findings from our interviews and literary...
