University Dormitory

New university dormitory in Trnava with five stories is based on the flat land. The first floor is the technical part of the building, space for a temporary accommodation and a separate sales area. Part of the second floor consists of offices for administration, the second part of the floor, as well as the other three stories are designed as a unit system for student accommodation. Total bed capacity is designed for 134 students. The bearing structure of the building is reinforced concrete monolithic skeleton with infill perimeter walls of ceramic bricks. The flat roof of the building is not walkable.
Buildings for education - energy and indoor environment

Diploma thesis deals with evaluation of indoor environment of a school complex in atypical Himalayan alpine environment which is totally dependent on energy originating from renewable sources. Structural design of buildings allows maximum utilization of solar energy which is the only one actually available source of energy in this area. The buildings are de-scribed in detail, as well as measurement conducted in buildings during the last year. The out-comes of measurements are compared with desired values. The thesis is also focused on math-ematical simulations by using BSim software. The output of a building energy simulations is an energy use prediction and design of appropriate measures to improve the current situation.
Jaroslavice – place in the landscape

The goal of our projectis to „restart“ the Jaroslavice village. It was a well established settlement before the war, but has been on a downfall ever since. The problem began by eviction of german population after the war, followed by close distance to highly guarded border. This project is aiming on the possibility of living in the „ near border area and resumption of forgotten countryside. It proposes to connect old with new. The core of the project is renovation of majer near the castle. It is located on the edge of Jaroslavice and is connected to newly established part of the village. The site of the majer is becomming a connection point of history and present. Therefore, the object provides areas needed by students of newly designed high school. It includes accomodation, cafeteria and residental yard. It blends with additional areas of art centre nearby and is connected to the centre of village. Among the functions ths project provides, there is also a variable hall desired by village management.
Leisure and interest activities pupils from school for hearing impaired pupils

In its theoretical part this bachelor thesis deals with the definition of leisure time and presents the most prestigious leisure institutions and organizations in the Czech Republic. It especially focuses on the specifics of leisure time of hearing-impaired children and youth. It briefly describes the range of leisure activities that are available at schools and hearing loss organization in several cities. In the practical part the questionnaire and survey data are analysed. Attention has also been paid to the difference between leisure time of surveyed boarding and non-boarding pupils.
The role of boarding schools for the Deaf in the Czech Republic - since 1786 to present days

(in English): This bachelor thesis presents the history and development of institutional care at the Czech boarding schools for the hearing impaired, as well as at the then institutes for the Deaf and dumb from 1786 to present. It describes the regime at these boarding schools, extracurricular activities of the pupils, pedagogical supervision and the schools facilities. The school regime is dealt with according to centuries. The bachelor work also brings up the issue of the Deaf communities, both home and abroad and explores the impact of the boarding schools on the community. The findings are interpreted in the light of individual development of the child staying in a boarding school, namely its impact on child's personality. The work draws data from the specialized past and present bibliography, legislative norms and other relevant documents. The final part of the bachelor thesis presents the results of the findings concerning the issue of hearing impaired children in residential care. They prove that children staying in boarding schools suffer from deprivation which is, furthermore, enhanced in case of deaf children who lack an opportunity to communicate in their mother tongue, i.e. sign language with the peers. They neither have a contact with their surrounding, nor are exposed to every day...

Differences in eating habits between athletes living at home and athlets (living) at boarding school.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to study the diet of active adolescents and circumstances influencing it. Theoretical part deals with vast psychoanalysis of adolescents, not limiting to developmental psychology but also mutual influence of the environment on adolescents. Theoretical part also studies physiology of stress and basics of nutrition together with sport nutrition aimed on endurance performance. The experimental part of the thesis consists of eating habits evaluation in adolescents who live at home and comparing it to group living at dormitory. From the sum of 21 active adolescents 7 abstained from cooperation. Despite covering the sample of diverse characteristics of this complex age, simultaneously the number of subjects in the sample of the study was lowered, therefore the differences between the groups became barely measurable.
