Molecular simulation of Lennard-Jones fluid as a task for physical chemistry laboratory

Molecular simulations are capable of reproducing and predicting the behavior of real systems using a simplified model. Over the past 70 years, thanks to the rapid development of computers, this method has become an important part of various scientific fields. Thanks to their speed and low cost, molecular simulations can work hand in hand with a real experiment and in some cases even replace it. The didactics of this progressive method are in its beginnings at the Faculty of Science of Charles University, and its teaching is limited to master's and higher studies. In this work, we created and tested a task for physical chemistry laboratory, which can serve as a first introduction to molecular simulations for undergraduate chemistry students. The task, written in the interactive Jupyter Notebook environment, was designed based on modern pedagogical approaches of inquiry based learning, supplemented by a high level of scaffolding due to the complexity of the teaching content. The choice of simulating the model of supercritical argon described by the Lennard-Jones potential was based on the requirement for conceptual simplicity and the possibility of connection with already known concepts. Multimedial education interface for programming and debugging software for AVR microcontrollers

Diploma thesis is concerned with programming of AVR microprocessors. Main task was development of compact environment where user can learn methods necessary for successful programming of microprocessor. It was necessary to make an application enabling interactive simulation of processor to reach this goal. User-friendly control, simplicity and low hardware demands are main advantages of this application. Only computer with internet connection is demanded. Complicated installation, usual for similar products, is avoided.

Beyond the limit of interest - the genesis of creativity

Artistic work is to a large extent viewed holistically - the receiver perceives the whole of the work, seeks its meaning, tries to interpret it. The final text is torn off by a thick black line from its genesis. However, just observing the development of the idea, concept, processing, or method itself is most often a more complex experience than the finished work. The course of my studies, permeated by three separate studios and by itself representing the macroclimate of an individual thinking about artistic attitude and meaning, motivated me to turn attention from the work to the course of creation. The work can be understood as a metacritical view of the creative processes, enveloping the finalized work itself, among which a structure of similarity and otherness emerges; this I will try to capture as a text in the form of a gamebook.

Hierarchical Techniques in Lighting Computation

This master thesis deals with description of hierarchical techniques in global lighting computation. Here is explaining the importance of hierarchical techniques in lighting computation and shows method, how to use these hierarchical techniques in realtime radiosity and its extension to dynamic area lighting. These two techniques are described in detail in the first part of this project. In the other part is desing and implementation of application for dynamic area lighting computation.

Design 3D Catalog for Company

The subject of the thesis is the area of on-line 3D catalogues. In the first part, the basics of computer graphics and 3D modelling are summarized. The following part of the text focuses on the product catalogue of a certain company - S&K KONTAKT - and performs its analysis. Based on the analysis, several options are proposed how to transform the current company's presentation into an interactive 3D catalogue with the goal of distinguishing oneself from the competition and addressing new customers.

Graphical Simulator of Superscalar Processors

Práce se zabývá implementací simulátoru superskalárního procesoru. Implementace se odvíjí od existujících simulátorů a jejich chybějících částí. Simulátor umí vykonávat instrukční sadu RISC-V, ovšem je umožněno přidání jakékoli RISC instrukční sady. Simulátor má deterministickou predikci skoku. Části procesoru lze upravovat. Součástí je i editor kódu pro danou instrukční sadu.

Virtual reality in design of production machines, systems and robotics

This bachelor thesis in the first part describes history and development of the virtual reality, following part brings overview of the different types for virtual reality, possibilities of usage, specifies all requirements and constrains with needs to be met for creation of realistic virtual reality. This thesis also contains areas about human vision, sound and touch, mainly focusing on how to confuse them using computer controlled technology. Thesis also brings an overview about negative consequences of virtual reality on the human health. Last part of this thesis contains an overview of basic software tools for creation of virtual reality and in the end brings two examples of usage virtual reality in mechanical engineering.

Design of Multipurpose Information Stand

The project‘s aim is proposal of the Multifunctional Information Station. This means a place, where anybody would get a lot of information from several branches divided in a way, that the requested reply would be delivered as quick and understandable as possible. Apart of the primary function, information carrier, the Multifunctional Information Station is offering a lot of additional services. These are related to products, which haven‘t been integrated to the Multifunctional Information Station so far, but its usage in the future have been estimated.

Design of education board

The aim of my diploma thesis is to blueprint a design of multi-functional educational console. The dissertation contains several variant studies, color drawings and concrete shape execution. It entails a certain development in the area of positioning and multi-functional appliances. The thesis itself deals with the concrete shape execution of multi-touch educational console as well as seat in the form of gym ball. Short video cut from the area of interactive media forms a part of my work too.

Application for Online Music Notation Typesetting

In this thesis, an application for musical notation in the environment of web browsers using the SVG vector graphics format is proposed. We have a look at relevant standard notation practices as well as at the history of musical typesetting. Existing programs for musical notation are classified and examined and based on those a user interface for the application is designed along with some modifications. The implementation of the application is then described. A set of features is presented and their usefulness is with the user interface tested on users. The feedback of the testing is then evaluated and the application is improved based on the feedback. Finally, the future of the application is discussed. Because SVG can still be considered an experimental technology and many browsers lack its support or their behaviour differs, the application is only guaranteed to work on the Google Chrome browser.
