Hardware Acceleration of Algorithms for Approximate String Matching
Nosek, Ondřej ; Kořenek, Jan (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
Methods for aproximate string matching of various sequences used in bioinformatics are crucial part of development in this branch. Tasks are of very large time complexity and therefore we want create a hardware platform for acceleration of these computations. Goal of this work is to design a generalized architecture based on FPGA technology, which can work with various types of sequences. Designed acceleration card will use especially dynamic algorithms like Needleman-Wunsch and Smith-Waterman.
Comparison of practicing methods of initial reading and writing in relation to specific learning disorders
Hladká, Jitka ; Felcmanová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kotvová, Miroslava (referee)
Theoretical part of this thesis comprises findings gathered by analyzing available specialized literature focused on specific learning disorders, methods of practicing of initial reading and writing, and Framework Education Program for Elementary Education. The practical part consists of research in a form of questionnaire survey, which compares both learning and writing training methods with respect to specific learning disorders as its main target. The main purpose of this research was to obtain and analyze opinions of specialists from counseling and school psychology clinics on methods of teaching reading and writing, furthermore how these methods may help avert the development of special learning disorders or which methods of teaching writing and reading might be associated with more frequent development of special learning disorders. The survey shows, that the most popular and the most suitable method for initial writing and reading practice according to inquired specialists is still the analytical-synthetic method, which sustains development of particular functions and it is coherent with child's natural phonological development. On the contrary, application of genetic method appears to be the most perilous, since pupils educated by this method seem to display more problems related to...
Bound and unbound font of writing in primary school
Neumannová, Tereza ; Ronková, Jolana (advisor) ; Wildová, Radka (referee)
The thesis deals with the type of font of hand writing which is taught at the elementary schools it the Czech Republic its main symbols and methods of the font rating. In the theoretical part I define the basic concepts, introduces the history, development of writing, actual methods of teaching of hand writing at the elementary schools and the overview of exercise books for practicing of the very first hand writing. In the practical part, I find out using a questionnaire according to which criteria the teachers evaluate children's hand writing. The research part contains written work of children. I analyze the texts where I evaluate qualitative features (shape, size, gradient, binding, modification) of bound and unbound font of writing in the third grade of elementary school. To improve writing skills, I suggest specific didactic utilities, release exercises, act. Key words: The bound font of writing, analytical-synthetic method, The unbound font of writing, genetic method, global method, Sfumato, font rating, qualitative writing symbols, exercise book, release exercises
Use of Genetic Method to Read in the first Grade of an elementary School
Hájková, Lucie ; Vacínová, Marie (advisor) ; Felcmanová, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of genetic method to reading in the first grade of an elementary school. The theoretical part is focused on the child's entry to school, their school maturity and further education. Other methods to read are presented, analysed and compared with the genetic method as well. Furthermore, the methods and ways how to put the genetic method in practice are pursued in detail along with didactical games and examples of teaching procedures. The practical part looks into the experience the teachers have gained with this method, the school success of the children and the opinion the family members have.
