National Socialist culture politics: Change of German fine arts in 30s
Mojžíš, Radek ; Pelánová, Anita (advisor) ; Šafařík, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines a role of a cultural policy during 1933 and 1937 and its influence on Fine arts. It describes a link between a political power and culture. The thesis itself focuses not only on indiviual acts, but also presumptions creating National socialist cultural politics. The thesis consists of two main parts. The first introduces changes in society and art scene of Weimar Republik. The crucial moment was the Great Depression in 1929 and subsequent radicalization influencing both a society and culture. The rising influence later peaked in nazi's participation in Thuringian governemnt which enabled first attempts to regulate culture. The second part decribes the period after Hitler was appointed Reich Chancellor. First bills affecting culture were passed and process of Gleichschaltung started. It also focuses on a role of institutions, associations and Hitler himself as cultural policy makers. Their main target was to eliminate modern art, which manifested in organizing a defamatory exhibition Entartete Kunst in 1937. At the same time Great German Art exhibition was held. Its main goal was to introduce artists of a new regime. In spite of these efforts, an attempt of creating new national socialist art failed.
Space, time and material in fine art and art education
Mikulková, Kristýna ; Hůla, Zdenek (advisor) ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (referee)
The theoretical part is about concepts of places, landscape, genius loci, Land Art and in those concepts are connected through the walking. The theoretical part is structured into various individual "imaginary steps", the development of my thoughts on the subject and then refers to the cultural contexts. In the practical part I focus on descriptions and examples of my own artistic realization. The last didactic part describes the model learning schemes. I tried to follow starting experience, i.e. scheme: to live - to think out - to tell. The main part is mainly inspired by my one year study in Lisbon in Portugal. Just stay here and the opportunity to perform physically demanding 750 km long pilgrimage route across Portugal, forms the basis of my practical part performance art. This topic applies to didactic etudes. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Dvizhenie (1962 - 1976): Experimental art of the group and its presentation outside the USSR
Slavíková, Kateřina ; Pech, Milan (advisor) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (referee)
Dvizhenie (1962-1976) Experimental formation of the group and its presentation outside the USSR Abstract The bachelor's thesis focuses on the Moscow art group Dvizhenie, which was formed mainly thanks to the founding member, Lev Nusberg, at the beginning of the 1960s. The group was active until 1976 and during that time the group became one of the most comprehensive and distinguished formations in Soviet art at the time, mainly due to its experimental work. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the artistic development of the group. At the beginning, Dvizhenie drew from the Russian avant-garde of the 1920s, which shaped the first wave of kinetic art in Europe. The group's geometric works on paper gradually transfer into space. Eventually, Dvizhenie evolved in its work towards a kinetic sculpture which was experiencing a renaissance throughout and beyond Europe in the 1950s. Movement as an artistic expression led the group to experiment with cybernetics - its members combined this new technology with modern psychology focused on the perception of artworks and scenography. The group's peak was cyber theatre, which primarily wanted to engage all the audience's senses. The second part of the thesis focuses on the relationship of Dvizhenie with the totalitarian policy of the USSR. Surprisingly, the...

Analysis of the porosity of a plaster cast, based on tomography data. Pilot measurement for the feasibility verification of the method for analyses of cast sculptures
Kumpová, Ivana ; Vopálenský, Michal
The aim of the tomographical research was the verification of the feasibility of the X-ray tomography for the qualitative description of the internal structure of the cast sculptures (damage, former restoration evidence etc.) and also for the characterization of the way and direction of the plaster pouring. There is a hypothesis that in the cast piece, the non-uniform distribution of pores as for the size (volume) along the vertical direction should be observable. The deeper in the piece, the higher amount of smaller pores and lower amount of bigger pores is expected. As well, lower porosity, i.e., ratio of the volume of the pores and the entire investigated volume, is expected deeper in the sample. The distribution of the pores could indicate, how the sculpture was made, in particular, where were the pouring holes and how many, what was the material flux like and how did it mixture. The method was verified on a specimen and the indicated hypotheses were only partly confirmed.
Sound installation by Kateřina Šedá in The Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava
Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě
Už jste někdy zkoušeli volat z telefonní budky v Galerii výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO)? Zajímá vás, co, nebo kdo se ozve ze sluchátka? Červené telefonní budky jsou součástí nové výstavy Kateřiny Šedé Bedřichovický poledník, kterou autorka uzavírá dlouholetý projekt v obci Bedřichovice s názvem Od nevidím do nevidím (2011–2015). Do pětiletého projektu byli pravidelně zapojováni obyvatelé Bedřichovic, kteří například v roce 2011 performovali v Londýně. V Domě umění, GVUO bude k vidění do 26. ledna 2020.
