Hyper-digitalization of the football environment from the point of view of the fans of the football club AC Sparta Prague
Novák, Filip ; Pergl, David (advisor) ; Tremčinský, Martin (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of hyperdigitalization on the relationship between fans and AC Sparta Prague, a club participating in the highest Czech football competition. In the theoretical part of the thesis I define the concept of hyperdigitalization and the processes that come with the rapid development of digital technologies and communication tools. These include, for example, the naturalization of digital communication or the deterritorialization of the fandom. Furthermore, I discuss the methodology of my work, in which I use semi-structured in-depth interviews with Sparta fans to collect data. Among other things, the social network Twitter and the Sparta fan community operating there were used to select respondents. In the practical part, I analyse the generated data in chapters dealing with establishing a relationship with the club, consumption of digital content, traditional 'offline' fandom, the complications of digital technologies and the financial functioning of the club. The themes of the analytical chapters were developed primarily based on the categories emerging from the open coding results. Answers to the research questions and opportunities for further research are emerged in the final chapter.

Contemporary Fandom Subculture - Active Culture Consumption
VANÍČKOVÁ, Simona
This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of fans, specifically fan communities surrounding cultural works of fiction. In the first part it maps out the progress of media studies in the 20th century and the research of audiences and their consumption of media messages. It summarizes that the question of media message reception had previously been viewed as a question of a uniform mass of people under the total control of the media industry; afterwards research proved diversity in the audience that resulted in a variety of media message perceptions. From this general approach it moves in the second part to examine a specific group within an audience, the fans. It outlines the gradual shifts in the way the academic world has viewed the fan world through the comparison of various works on this topic and it informs about the general characteristics of fan communities at various points in time. It concludes that while working with the subject of fan communities it is relevant to incorporate topics such as resistance against the cultural industry, the community aspect of being a fan, the activity and passivity of being a fan, and their representation in academia and in media messages themselves.

The thesis examines whether Czech and Slovak printed national daily newspapers reveal expressions of patriotism and fanfare in ice-hockey news reports. Sports matches between two nations, which once formed one state, have all the requisites for being more special and prestigious than regular matchups. For this reason, these two events have been selected as suitable for analysis: the final match in the 2000 World Championship between the Czech Republic and Slovakia (5:3) and the 2012 semifinal between the same opponents (1:3). The theoretical part introduces concepts of nation, nationalism, national identity, national symbols, myths, stereotypisation and fanfare. In the empirical part, a discourse analysis is performed for their examination and application on a research sample, which consists of texts from the time of the given matches between the Czech and Slovak national teams. As an assistant method, a quantitative content analysis has been chosen to provide answers to questions concerning the number and location of articles in each country's newspapers. The results of the analysis proved that Czech and Slovak printed daily newspapers frequently reveal expressions of patriotism and fanfare in the period under review, distinctively using the first person of the plural "we" or a tendency...
