Hoppeová, Andrea ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Vorálek, Rostislav (referee)
Title: Isokinetic strength of shoulder rotation in elite Czech female volleyball players Objectives: The main goal was to evaluate and compare the results of measuring internal and external rotation in the shoulder joint of elite volleyball players of the age categories "Women" and "Juniors U18". Method: The players of the national teams "Juniors U18" and "Women" took part in the measurement. Isokinetic strength parameters were measured using a Cybex Humac Norm isokinetic dynamometer (Cybex NORM®, Humac, CA, USA). The maximum strength of internal and external rotation of the shoulder joint was evaluated. Muscle strength was measured at an angular velocity of 60 ř/s and the upper limb was abducted at 90ř. Descriptive statistics on the test result were calculated and evaluated using the Excel software (Microsoft, USA). Statistical data processing was performed at the level of comparison of averages and percentage differences between individual categories of results. Results: The results show that the Women group had higher strength than the U18 Junior group. On the contrary, the U18 Junior group had more balanced results, both between the dominant and non-dominant limb and between internal and external rotation. The measured strength of rotation in Women shown a greater muscle imbalance. In...
Dynamometry as a prognostic and prediction marker
Drobná, Zuzana ; Kovařík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Doleželová, Eva (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Student: Zuzana Drobná Supervisor: PharmDr. Miroslav Kovařík, Ph.D. Title: Dynamometry as a prognostic and prediction marker Dynamometry is a method for measuring muscle strength. It is one of the methods of biomechanical motion analysis. There are two types of dynamometry. Isokinetic dynamometry is based on isokinetic muscle contraction. In this contraction, the muscles change their length. Isometric dynamometry is based on isometric muscle contraction. The length of the muscle does not change during the contraction. In my master thesis, 22 studies were included. Of this, 18 were engaged in a dynamometer, which measured muscle strength. Studies have been focused on prediction of short and long-term mortality, prognosis of hospitalized and severely ill patients, prediction of disease symptoms (cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, liver disease). I searched for studies according to the PubMed database. In 16 studies, it was confirmed that dynamometry can be used in the present time as a reliable diagnostic, predictive and prognostic method. Dynamometry is characterized as a simple, objective, non-invasive, easily transposable and reproducible method. Keywords: dynamometer, muscle...

Neklanová, Anna ; Ravnik, David (advisor) ; Tlapáková, Eva (referee)
Title : Kinesio taping in treatment and prevention of thumb overload in outpatient physiotherapy Purposes : The main purpose of this thesis was to evaluate a degree of pain decrease in thumb joint after kinesio tape application. The differences in grip strength were concurrently evaluated to objectify previous results. Hand dynamometer was used to support this claim. Methods : Data for the experiment were obtained by use of hand dynamometer measurement and record of a pain degree according to chosen pain scale. Each person was measured right before defined strain and immediately after it (daily work in outpatient therapy according to therapist's working shift). Each therapist was asked to record a degree of actual pain following the instructions during strain. All the results were processed and statistically analyzed. Results : The results show that kinesio tape is successful in decreasing of thumb joint pain. This was confirmed both during and after the strain. At the same time kinesio tape prevents decreasing of the grip strength. Keywords : Thumb, thumb joint, kinesio taping of a thumb, dynamometry, pain decrease of a thumb, overloading of a thumb

Autor: Bc. Veronika Sýkorová Title: Comparative analysis of the effect on disease-modifying drugs and biological therapy in functional ability in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Objective: The aim of the thesis is to compare the effect of disease-modifying drugs and biological therapy on quality of life using the disability index, which is achieved by evaluating the HAQ, grip strength the small muscles of the hand, which is tested a hand dynamometer and standing stability, which is detected by measuring on stabilometric platform. Methods: This is a pilot study using subjective and objective examination. Stabilometric and dynamometric examination and the Czech version of the Stanford Health Assessment Questionnaire validated by Rheumatology Institute in Prague 2010 were used to the analysis. Evaluation of the collected data was done using two-way analysis of variance with repetition. Results: Biological therapy and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs have significant impact on quality of life, the strength of the small muscles of the hand and standing stability in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs have reached significant results than the biological therapy in quality of life, forces the small muscles of the right hand and standing stability. Biological...

Šimková, Lenka ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor) ; Malý, Tomáš (referee)
Title: The assesment of selected strength and stability parameters of an ankle plantar and dorsal flexion in slackliners. Objectives: To assess the relation between level of stability the dorsiflexion and the plantar flexion strength in slackliners. Methods: The research sample was composed of two groups - slackliners (9 person) and balanced control group (9 person) selected from physically active population. Probands were tested on the Flamingo test on the pressure plate, the test of the dorsiflexion and plantar flexion strenght on an isokinetic dynamometer. Slackliners underwent extra range of motions elements on the slackline. The level of stability was assessed by using the centre of pressure and the physical design of individual elements on the slackline. Power was assessed by using the peak torque at 30 ř and 120 ř. Results: Slackliners achieve bigger relative strength in the plantar angular velocity of rotation of 30 ř in both limbs than the control group (left: 1.51 ± 0.31 vs. 1.20 ± 0.30 Nm.kg-1 , p <0.05 , η2 = 0.21, right: 1.55 ± 0.34 vs. 1.21 ± 0.34 Nm.kg-1 , p <0.05, η2 = 0.22). The results of other parameters (postural stability, isokinetic power at the ankle angular velocity of 120 ř.s-1 and the time course of force) between the two groups did not differ significantly. Conclusion:...

Title: Physical profile of judo athletes and its changes due to body weight reduction Aim of work: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of intensive pre-competitive body weight reduction on body composition, anthropometric parameters, postural stability, reaction time, maximal isometric muscle strength and biochemical parameters in the blood of elite judo athletes. Methods: The work compares the results of laboratory testing at the beginning and at the end of body weight reduction. Nine male judo athletes (age 22.3 ± 2.4 years) from the Czech national team participated in the research. For laboratory testing we used bioelectrical impedance analyser InBody 720, anthropometric equipment, pressure plate FootScan, dynamometer and apparatus for measuring reaction times of Biomedical laboratory UK FTVS and equipment for the collection of capillary and venous blood. We created a survey to gather more information about pre-competitive weight loss, attended by 53 competitors (37 men and 16 women, mean age 23.7 ± 3.2 years) who practise judo, wrestling Greco-Roman and freestyle, boxing, kickboxing, thaibox, taekwondo or karate. Results: We found a statistically significant (p<0.01) reduction of body weight, average weight loss was 4.6 % (on average 3.4 ± 1.6 kg). This reduction was reflected in...
Motoric efficiency and somatic features of men
MRÁČKOVÁ, Petra
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to detect physical proportions, composition and motoric efficiency of men aged 25 to 35 years. From the measured data, there were selected basic somatic features e.g. body height, body weight and peripheral proportions, from which the circumferences of waist, hips, arm, forearm, thigh and calf were selected. Using the device Bodystat?1500MDD, body composition of investigated subjects was detected, from which BMI, body fat, active body mass were selected. This bachelor thesis deals with Ruffier test and dynamometry as well. A questionnaire thanks to which the sports activities in men's leisure time have been found out, is also part of the thesis. The detected data were compared to results of previous research studies. In most cases, the measured data of body proportions of men found as a result of the research are higher than measured data of the previous research studies.
