Kořínková, Markéta ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Kövári, Martina (referee)
Cognitive function disorders have an enormous impact on the life quality of a patient, his or her family and close people. It influences the patient's job, social interaction and independence. This diploma thesis focuses on the possibility of improving cognitive functions concerning multiple sclerosis with the help of facilitation physiotherapy. Twelve disordered volunteers participated a two-month physiotherapeutic programme (motor programs activating therapy), for 1 hour, twice per week. Before the beginning and after the end of the therapeutic programme an examination by a clinic test PASAT and the monitoring of functional magnetic resonance was done. The results of functional magnetic resonance were further compared with the results of group of healthy volunteers. Concerning clinic test, the results of the disordered patients have improved after the therapy. In functional magnetic resonance statistics the earlier start and change of a curve progress of brain activation was discovered, which portrays improving speed of processing information at multiple sclerosis disordered.

Jaremová, Vladěna ; Kulišťák, Petr (advisor) ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (referee)
The goal of this thesis was to describe cognitive profile of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in patients witch ischemic stroke (IST). The theoretical introduction focuses on IST, the concept of MCI, and neuropsychological test of cognitive deficits related to IST. The empirical part of the thesis describes the research results. 64 patients with various types of brain lesions after first-ever stroke were examined within 3-6 months after hospital admission. The cognitive performance was assessed across five cognitive domains: memory, attention, executive functions, visuospacial abilities, and language. All cognitive domains were impaired to the similar extend; the impairment quite severe, and ranged from 1.5 to 2.0 SD below the mean of the control group. The results showed that right hemisphere lesions were associated with visuospacial impairment whereas left hemisphere lesions were associated with language impairment. Also, it was examined which combination of tests differentiates best between patients from the experimental groups and the control group, and among individual experimental groups. It is necessary to develop and use sensitive and valid tests that can detect mild cognitive deficits in patients after ischemic stroke, which could be useful for rehabilitation planning. Keywords: mild...

Title: The relationship between physical activity and cognitive function in older adults Objectives:. The dissertation deals with issues related to the relationship between physical activity and cognitive function in older adults. The main aim of the thesis was exploring possible links between the movement regime of seniors and cognitive function, specifically to find out what links exist between the cognitive function of seniors and systematic physical activity as a part of their lifestyle. The secondary aim of this study was to investigate what factors of lifestyle and quality of life are related to the ability of seniors to solve complex cognitive tasks. Method: The research was based on two quantitative methods - the Vienna test system battery which measured the level of cognitive function and the battery of questionnaires which measured the various variables related to lifestyle and quality of life. The obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0 statistical software (Hayes, 2017). Hlavičková, Barbora ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Holasová, Lenka (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the impact of dementia syndrome in clients of social field service on workers in direct care. The thesis connects two theoretical levels, which are closely related to the topic. This is primarily the level of the disease itself with dementia syndrome and the circumstances associated with caring for a sick person. The second level deals with the topic of managing a team of workers in direct care, with a focus on field social services. The research in the sequential variant made it possible to emphasize the moments that are specific in the care of clients with dementia syndrome in the home environment. The intention was to name the stress moments that come with working with a given target group in the home environment. At the core of the pressures mentioned by the respondents, the stress resulting from the unpredictability of the situation was found as a common denominator. It is unpredictability, given the client's illness, in the conditions of the home environment, in which the client is used to making his own decisions, despite the worsened cognition. At the next level is the stress resulting from unclear responsibility for the content of the service. The employee must be able to flexibly move from a role that is more managerial to a role where the service is managed...
