Sociocultural conditionality of emotions

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to explain the concept of emotions with the focus on their sociocultural conditionality. The thesis is divided into two basic sections. In the theoretical part important conceptions of emotions (neurophysiological, cognitivistic and evolutionary) are explained. Attention is paid to the proces of emotion regulation, in which the culture plays important role. Special chapter analysis the process of emotion expression showing both of its forms : verbal and nonverbal. Empirical part of the thesis presents a proposal of a research project, which purpose is to confirm some of the knowledges shown in the theoretical part. The research focuses on a pantomimic expression of emotions and its sociocultural conditionality.
Communication and presentation skills

This bachelor thesis deals with individual factors of communication and basic presentations skills. The theoretical part specifies the basic elements of verbal and non-verbal communication and basic factors connected with preparation and realisation of a presentation. The practical part of the thesis comprises an analysis of impacts of speaker's visual and other communication influences over an audience. The results are applied to a Multimedia Display exhibition taking place during the bachelor's seminar.
Emotional signals in connection with body language.

The thesis deals with emotional expressions in body language and its interpretation. In the theoretical part, the author deals with emotions and theories focused on emotions, sympathy, verbal and nonverbal communication as well as body language (gestures, facial expressions, body types and attractiveness). There are many books which provide information about how to recognize nonverbal signals in communication. This study tries to find out if there is a connection between experiences gathered from this books and better recognition nonverbal signals. The empirical part is based on qualitative exploratory survey and semi-structured interview. Thirteen students of pedagogical studies were interviewed. They had to describe emotions on twelve videos without sound.

The thesis regards nonverbal communication and its function in work suit. It concerns above all relationships among particular co-workers, businessmen and their clients or leading and work candidates.Comfortable atmosphere at work is important for better achievement and feeling of personal significance. Right use of nonverbal communication in business can help to make a good deal and affects trustworthy.The results showed that sum of nonverbal signals can tell us the opinion of the other person no matter what is he or she saying. What are you saying is not what are you thinking about. If you know this diference you can change somebody´s thoughts with right use of nonverbal communication. The research showed that it is not possible to make results or conclusions only with use of two or three nonverbal signals. It is important to compare more signals. The whole thesis showed that nonverbal communication is quiet important and can help us to build better relationships.
