Use of algae for production of biomass and bioproducts

Submitted bachelor thesis is focused on description of use of algae for biomass and bioproducts production. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the taxonomic classification of algae and a basic summary of the characteristics of the different algal groups. The next part is aimed at bioproducts, which are obtained by algae cultivation and possibilities of further processing for energy purposes are also described. As for the cultivation, the emphasis is on modern methods in this area, i.e. on the possibility of using waste products in the culture process. In the next part, technological parameters of cultivation are discussed, for instance effects of technological parameters on growth and composition of biomass and production of desired products. The next chapter summarizes types of used culture bioreactors in which the growth of biomass occurs in a controlled environment. The information obtained and collected in the thesis is further discussed and summarized in the conclusion.

Regional Differentiation of Organic Farming in Czechia

The aim of this dissertation is to summarize the current ecological situation in the Czechia. A very important aspect of this alternative agriculture is its regional differentiation. Czechia has a lot of organic farms, the mian aim of this thesis is to map their location and determine the location is correct or not. NUTS 4 units will be used in mapping the distribution of ecological farms as they are the suitable units for making comparisons. The source of data on which this research is based is the Ministry of Agriculture and Control organization KEZ, o.p.s. The results of this research are displayed in the form of tables and pictures. Cartograms and cart-diagrams are used to display the geographical distribution of the organic subjects. The commentaries on the cartograms and cart-diagrams are the key part of this research. This dissertation also briefly looks comparison Czechia with other member states of the EU member states in organic farming and own research which aims to offer organic products in stores. The Effect of Socio-Demographic Factors on Consumer Trends in the Czech Republic

The thesis examines the potential effects of various socio-demographic determinants on consumer trends in the Czech market over the years 2009- 2019. We use data from the agency Median, s.r.o., which has been researching consumer behavior since 1993. This work analyzes dependent categorical variables that define potential consumer trends and represent answers of respondents or households. We utilized an ordinal logistic regression for the analysis, which we subsequently tested by Brant's test. Statistically significant results from the models are similar to the results in previous studies. Specifically, during the years 2009-2019, the interest in recycling increases, people tend to buy organic food more often, and spending on Czech products decreases slightly (especially in 2018 and 2019), and people tend to spend more money on vacation. For example, the bachelor thesis shows that women have a greater tendency to buy organic products and Czech food than men and, at the same time, recycle more often than men. Furthermore, new variables are examined in regards to observed trends. Such variables are the number of persons employed in the household and the ABCDE classification. The offer of organic products and healthy diet in hotel accommodation

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the offer of food and beverage services in selected upper market hotel facilities. The attention is focused on new nutritional trends. There was used a qualitative analysis in order to achieve the aim. It includes objective assessment of selected hotel facilities and their food and beverage servicies. The thesis also presents basic characteristics of the most important suppliers and producers of organic and healty products, which cooperate with hotels. The last part of the thesis evaluates the analysis of the offer of organic and healthy products. It also includes ananticipating future development in eating habits of clients and the impact on food and beverage services.

Bioproducts and their position in the present retailing

The topic of my diploma thesis is Bioproducts and their position in the present retailing. The thesis is divided in two parts, a theoretical one and a practical one. The theoretical part deals with the theory of bioproducts and their market position. It analyses ecology-agriculture tasks in Czech Republic as well as the legislation in the Czech Republic. The practical part describes bioproducts in Interspar and its own brand SPAR Natur*pur. In Interspar I did my research using questionnaires that were filled in by costumers of Interspar. These costumers answered questions about bioproducts and their market position in the Czech Republic. The results are presented in graphs and with a comment.

The goat breeding on the organic farm

The management of goat breeding, animal welfare and the influence of goat breeding on landscape are the main aims of my bachelor thesis. The other aims are as follows: basic information about parameters of goat production, processing and market of bio-products, economy of goat breeding and subsidies in goat breeding. The goat breeding was monitoring at the Slunečná organic farm in the Šumava Mountains. The results were interpreted on the basis of the study of special literature and legislation about organic farming and ethology of goats. The data set of goat herd daily regime on farm was created. Winter daily regime and summer daily regime were compared. The conditions of goat breeding were then compared with requirements of legal rules in the Czech Republic and in the EU. The physiological and ethological needs of animals are satisfactory. It is due to modern technologies for stabling, milking, slaughtering and another handling with animals. Goats have the possibility to graze freely on pastures and they effect positively on the landscape management. They keep grasslands without woody plants and weeds.

Organic food - land and sale potential of montane and submontane region (Southbohemian region)

This dissertation is focused on analysing the potencial in production and distribution of chosen biocommodity in the less favoured areas of South Bohemian region. As the alternate aim was determined ecological rural tourism and its perspective as one of the possible ways of developing less favoured areas. The work highlights the distinctions of organic agriculture and its principles, shows organic activities as a way of possible developmnet of montane and submontane areas and detects potencial of growth of this branch for the future.
