Liveness Detection of a Hand
Vanický, Jozef ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
This thesis solves the security problem of biometric systems which uses biometric data of a hand. It focuses on the absence of liveness detection during verification of a sample by the biometric system. In result this thesis offers to extend the contactless biometric systems by a system of liveness detection, which utilizes specific properties of human skin and its reactions to certain wavelengths of the visible spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. Reactions of the skin on the specific wavelengths of visible spectrum are analyzed and compared with the reactions of inorganic materials which imitates the hand. Outcome of this thesis is a design and implementation of a liveness detection algorithm, which can, based on the analysis of a set of photographs of the human palm, which was exposed to four wavelengths of a visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, successfully recognize a hand from a counterfeit with an average accuracy rate of 82.20 %.
System for Recognition of 3D Hand Geometry
Biometry based on retinal videosequences
Oweis, Kamil ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The biometric methods are the most advanced methods for recognition and verification of person identity. These methods are quite fast, safe and applicable in different situations. In this thesis is used a set of retinal scans taken with a video-ophtalmoscope. These pictures are further modified for next processing, first of all by convertion into black-andwhite binary image, in some cases was after that used a binary matrix for description of image. Afterwards was suggested comparison method of images from the database with reference image of the retina: method of overlap and shift. It was tested a set of blackand-white and then also grey images. All method calculations was realized in program Matlab of which outcome was determination of the most congruent image with reference image and evaluation of overall program accuracy.

This thesis deals with the design and implementation of a mobile application for BUT employees. The final application is written for Android and iOS in React Native. The goal is to facilitate the daily activities of an employee, which leads to more efficient work and reduced administration. The theoretical part deals with the selection of the most important modules in the information system based on statistical data and questionnaires. The implementation part contains the design of the user interface of selected modules and a description of the application implementation. The final application was tested by a group of employees and received a very good verbal evaluation.
Retinal biometry with low resolution images
Smrčková, Markéta ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
This thesis attempts to find an alternative method for biometric identification using retinal images. First part is focused on the introduction to biometrics, human eye anatomy and methods used for retinal biometry. The essence of neural networks and deep learning methods is described as it will be used practically. In the last part of the thesis a chosen identification algorithm and its implementation is described and the results are presented.
Biometry based on iris images
Tobiášová, Nela ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The biometric techniques are well known and widespread nowadays. In this context biometry means automated person recognition using anatomic features. This work uses the iris as the anatomic feature. Iris recognition is taken as the most promising technique of all because of its non-invasiveness and low error rate. The inventor of iris recognition is John G. Daugman. His work underlies almost all current public works of this technology. This final thesis is concerned with biometry based on iris images. The principles of biometric methods based on iris images are described in the first part. The first practical part of this work is aimed at the proposal and realization of two methods which localize the iris inner boundary. The third part presents the proposal and realization of iris image processing in order to classifying persons. The last chapter is focus on evaluation of experimental results and there are also compared our results with several well-known methods.
Properties measurement of ultrasound system in ophthalmology
Grebíková, Lucie ; Mézl, Martin (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
The thesis deals with physical principles of ultrasound with following specialization on ophtalmic ultrasound system Nidek Echoscan 4000 and its properties. And also it deals with description of investigative techniques in ophthalmology (A-mode, B-mode, biometry and pachymetry). Next, they was suggested procedures of measurement and that is spatial resolution (axial and lateral spatial resolution) and propagation speed of ultrasound depending on the temperature. Then these properties was tested on laboratory phantoms of eye – ETETECH LTD. and Multipurpose Ultrasound Phantom but on created phantoms of eye too, which will be made from agarose gel with build-in materail (fishing line, plastic film, plastic bag and rubber). At the end, measured values was processed in the generated program.

Fingerprint Liveness Recognition
Lodrová, Dana ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This document deals with presentation of nowadays software and hardware methods used for fingerprint recognition with focus on liveness testing and thereafter it deals with description of my solution. In order to describe results obtained from study of technical literature, we discuss important terminology of biometric systems at first and further main principles of fingerprint sensors used in practice are shown. From overviewed methods of liveness detection we underline one method based on  perspiration (researched by BioSAL laboratory) and one spectroscopic method researched by Lumidigm Corporation. The study of liveness testing methods inspired me to creation of new type fingerprint sensor which has built-in livennes testing method based on two characteristic properties of living human tisue. In order to test this sensor, we discuss nowadays sensor deception method. It follows from their analysis, that newly designed sensor should be theoretically resistant to each of them.
