Publishing Grey Literature in On-Line Repositories (Copyright Law Perspective)
Šavelka, Jaromír ; Koščík, Michal
The aim of the paper is to provide easy-to-follow guidelines to determine if a document can be published in an on-line repository. It is suggested that the process of evaluation can be formalized to such a degree that the process would be carried out by a non-lawyer. There is a group of rather trivial properties that should decide to which regime the work should be assigned. The presentation outlines the basic principles of the evaluative process which is represented by a tree-like structured set of simple questions. Thus, the presentation generally assesses which properties should a work have in order to be eligible for being made available by a means of an online repository.

Alternative Remuneration Schemes of Authors Creations
Drápela, Jan ; Munzi, Tomáš (advisor) ; Chalupníček, Pavel (referee)
In recent years there has been a rapid development of high-speed Internet which brings many changes in the perceiving of copyright. Internet lowers the cost of acquiring multimedia content, often through illegal channels. The authors thus losing their source of income with which to reconcile and have no intention of using representative organizations and associations are trying to minimize losses caused by new situations. This work describes the current system of copyright protection systems and remuneration schemes (Private Copy Remuneration) and describe an alternative basis (Culture flat-rate, DRM - Digital Right Management, Connection Regulation) and evaluated in terms of efficiency and fairness. The analytical part deals with the Czech version of the Private Copy Remuneration. Compares the level of EU countries and assess its adequacy. It also analyzes the transaction costs of reallocating back to the authors. Finally, evaluate the current model and proposes an alternative.

Danda, Jan ; Horný, Stanislav (advisor) ; Krsek, Libor (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the activity of the Graphic and Multimedia Laboratory at the University of Economics in Prague, identify outstanding issues and problems and situations in which laboratory work affects the current version of the Copyright Law of the Czech Republic (Consolidated version of Act No. 121/2000 on Copyright and Rights Related to Copyright and on Amendment to Certain Acts (the Copyright Act), as amended by Act No. 81/2005, Act No. 61/2006 and Act No. 216/2006.) and then dismantle these points, which are directly related to the application of copyright law, and propose solutions to problems and to add or modify existing procedures to comply with the law. The text is laboured for the leader who may not be an expert on copyright law and despite that he could understand the issues. This thesis introduces work of the laboratory from its inception to the present situation and focuses mainly on the part of the training (and teaching). Graphics and Multimedia Laboratory produces each year, whether the work of GML employees or implicitly the work of students, hundreds of graphics, audio-visual and other outputs (often bordering on, or directly intervening in the sphere of art), which are subjects of copyright. When creating these outcomes here is a situation affecting the scope of the current version of copyright law. In this work, the most common situations are then selected where it may be a conflict with copyright law. These situations are described as they routinely carry out and then analyzed from the perspective of copyright law. Outstanding issues are clarified and solutions are designed or modified and supplemented by existing solutions. The proposed solution will be given a modified form, or subsequently applied to the smooth operation of the GML.
Copyright protection
Plchotová, Gabriela ; Žák, Květoslav (advisor) ; Spirit, Michal (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to offer a straightforward manual to anyone who authors their own original work or who utilises the original work of other creators. As such, it is necessary to briefly and clearly explain the historical development and essential terms of authorship as a concept and the origin of the need for copyright protection. Furthermore, this thesis includes chapters on copyright protection development specifically in the Czech Republic and the current definition of related laws in particular. Consequently, some of the most important provisions of the copyright protection laws are discussed. This practical manual, which is based on the theoretical findings from the first section of the thesis, introduces the problematic issue of how to best proceed when attempting to protect an author's original work under current copyright laws. Additionally, this manual also deals with how to avoid infringing on copyright laws when utilising other authors' original work. The following chapter focuses on the collective management of copyrights, its development as an instrument of copyright protection and its effectiveness in the Czech Republic. This chapter includes a list of all significant organizations that deal with copyright laws and their closer description.
