Psychoactive plants in creative activities
SVITAČOVÁ, Kateřina
The diploma thesis deals with the effect of psychoactive plants on creativity. A list of these plants was made with detailed descriptions of their properties, uses and effects on the organism. The list was compiled from literature, online sources and media. Subsequently, a questionnaire was developed to analyze user experiences with the selected psychoactive plants, which was part of the practical part of the thesis. Drawing and painting were the most common creative activities performed. Teachers emerged as the second most frequent group of respondents due to the questionnaire's focus on art schools. An important finding from the questionnaire survey is that although the link between creativity and art making was not confirmed as strong, respondents still perceived psychoactive plants positively. These plants may have unconsciously influenced the respondents' thinking, which may be related to possible flashbacks (experiences or symptoms associated with the use of psycho-active substances that return without actual substance use). Another reason may have been the use of the plant prior to creation, which led to arousal and increased motivation for creative activity. The survey also revealed how respondents view the future of plants. Among the most common responses were medicinal purposes, where these plants may be explored for their potential in treating various psychological disorders, as well as for relaxation, improving mental health, enhancing concentration and relaxation. Today's studies suggest that psychoactive plants have the potential to help treat certain ailments under controlled conditions and at low doses. This work provides a basis for further research, and information gathered from the questionnaire survey can further explore the relationship between these plants and the creative process

Other high scores were measured in "Abstraction" and "Imagination" traits. In the last part of the study the obtained results are discussed. Keywords Art, Artists, Personal Traits, Creativity
Mountain of Muses
Maurycová, Daniela ; Kotek, Jakub (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with a comprehensive solution proposal for the site of the former barracks, today mostly owned by VUT. With an active community of artists, musicians, architects, having a petition (over 700 signatures!) for preserving the structure and the use of the barracks versus trying to demolish part of the complex and expand the city park. The thesis will offer a view of the given complex of Kraví hora and an inspiring solution to both sides of the dispute. The design solution should offer upcoming artists a high-quality background for creation and presentation at acceptable operating costs, and at the same time open the area to the public and connect it to a functioning city park. The first phase of the diploma project analyzes the location of the barracks on Kraví hora and the immediate surroundings. The goal is the concept of functional and spatial use, a vision from which the diploma thesis itself will then develop. The second phase which will encompass the diploma thesis itself, then builds on the potential of the urban design, complementing it with the architectural design of buildings and more detailed documentation.
Young artists and social networking sites.
Smutný, Viktor ; Kolomoiets, Maksym (advisor) ; Průchová Hrůzová, Andrea (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to explain how artists from the generation of digital natives introduced by Dingli and Dylan use Social Networking Sites (SNS). Goal of this thesis is to identify what content do artists share and what they want to achieve with it. There will also be explained what content is not shared and if this is a form of self-censorship or something more in line with certain restrictions to convey desired image. The main theoretical background comes from the concept of self-presentation, which was explained by Goffman in offline space and reworked by Hogan, who introduced the theory of exhibition in online space. This thesis explains that main goal for artists is to create a certain exhibition of their artwork. Exhibition serves as a place, where artists can display their artwork in the best way possible for the audience, which can be used by artists. The use is mostly financial, it can be direct, or someone from the audience can afford them employment, or use their popularity as a motivation for their potential employers. Creation of this exhibition comes with a cost, content focused on anything, but art is either completely absent or employed in a way that is restricted. Certain type of restrictions is used even in art focused content, so the viewer has the best possible...
How artists understand and experience their own artistic creation
Horčicová, Jana ; Chrz, Vladimír (advisor) ; Vanek, Marián (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the unique life of fine artists. This work aims to understand how fine artists understand and experience their artistic creation. The thesis consists of a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is devoted to art and artistic creation in the context of psychology, the emphasis is placed on selected fundamental psychological approaches. The empirical part examines how artists understand and experience their artistic creation based on the realisation and processing of in-depth semi-structured interviews with three fine artists aged 51, 35 and 41 years. The psychological qualitative approach - interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) was chosen to understand the unique lived experience of the examined fine artists. The results of the analysis and interpretation of interviews are 3 portraits, which depict the perspective of the examined artists, their unique lived experience and subjectively significant mainstays of their life and artistic creation. The other results are 4 main themes that capture the relation between the experiences of individual respondents, map the most important topics and reveal the essence of the examined phenomenon. The following main themes crystallised out of the available data: "Creation as…", "More than profession", "Artist as...
