Vegetarian diet in pregnancy

Introduction: The topic I chose for my bachelor thesis is called vegetarian diet during pregnancy. My effort is to specify the vegetarian way of eating more specifically and also to bring closer to the eating habits of pregnant women who eat a meat-free vegetarian diet. Objectives: The objective of the theoretical part of the thesis is to provide the reader with a depper understanding of the alternative nutritional direction of vegetarianism, specific distribution, history, benefits and also the risks associated with it. The final part of the theoretical work is devoted to the nutrition of a pregnant vegetarian woman. The main goal of the research investigation of the bachelor 's thesis was to find out whether a vegetarian diet is suitable during pregnancy, what are the eating habits of pregnant vegetarian women and how the pregnancy of the women I approached in my research progressed. Another goal was to find out whether the interviewed women continue to educate themselves during pregnancy and draw information from relevant sources, whether they consulted their lifestyle with their doctors, and finally to find out what type of diet they plan for their offspring in the future, whether they will eat a vegetarian diet, or they will have freedom of choice in choosing what they want to consume....
Alternative nutrition - use and knowledge of PF JU students

The bachelor thesis deals with alternative nutrition and examines the knowledge and its use among students of the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia. The theoretical part deals with basic information about alternative nutrition and discusses possible reasons leading to dietary change. It also describes in more detail the different alternative ways of eating. The most well-known dietary trends among students are vegetarianism and veganism, for which the pitfalls and possible deficiencies in the diet are discussed in detail. The practical part elaborates the students' knowledge and opinion on alternative diets, the relationship to healthy eating and the use of dietary supplements. In addition, it evaluates the representation of different alternative diets, the reasons leading to dietary changes, the perceived changes, or the ways for obtaining nutritional information. The results are based on a questionnaire survey with a total of 101 respondents. Of the total number of respondents, 10% of the students were vegetarian. Other alternative forms of nutrition are less represented. The Mediterranean diet fared best in terms of health benefits in the evaluation of alternative forms of nutrition. However, none of the students surveyed follow its recommendations.
Alternative diets and their risks

This Bachelor's thesis is discussing the issues of alternative diets and their associated risks. Its goal is to give an overview about the consumer's lifestyle and to assess their knowledge on the topic of alternative nutrition. The theoretical part of this thesis is dealing with specific types of alternative diets. These were chosen to be vegetarianism and its subtypes, macrobiotic diet and low-carbohydrate diet. Key associated risks are described and explained. The practical part of this thesis was based on a quantitative survey. The data showed that the majority of the participants has a negative or a sparing approach to smoking, alcohol and fast food consumption. However, physical activity engagement several times a week was observed with only 35 % of participants. The survey showed that low-carbohydrate diet, veganism and macrobiotic diet were the prevalent choices among the participants. Additionally, it was suggested that a great portion of the respondents does not realise the significance of a nutritional therapist. Only 4 % consulted their meal plan with a nutritional therapist. The data also revealed that the respondents do not have sufficient knowledge about the risks of some nutrients. Up to 65 % would recommend alternative diets to the children, adolescents, pregnant or breastfeeding...
Alternative ways of eating and attitude to them in the general public

This bachelor thesis is focused on alternative ways of eating, their knowledge and attitude to them in the general public. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part presents general nutritional recommendations for adults in the Czech Republic and describes the basic components of nutrition, which should be included in a healthy rational diet. It also discusses the most common reasons why some people prefer an alternative diet. Furthermore the thesis describes two popular alternative diets, including their positive and negative aspects. The practical part is developed on the basis of an anonymous questionnaire survey. The relationship of respondents to a healthy lifestyle, their knowledge and opinion on alternative dietetics was ascertained. The research also included several questions focused on the respondents' own experiences with alternative diets. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to measure the awareness people across different generations have about alternative dietetics, how they perceive it and to find out about their personal experiences with it. Eating habits of addressed university students focusing on alternative nutrition

Alena Váchová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor thesis is focused on alternative nutrition. The aim of the theoretical part is to acquaint readers with general nutritional recommendations and alternative diets that may carry various risks. The practical part focuses on the eating habits of university students (energy intake, regularity of meals, drinking regime), their subjective satisfaction with eating habits and how many of them eat alternatively. The necessary data for the survey was collected using an anonymous online questionnaire. The obtained data are displayed in graphs or tables and a part of the thesis is devoted to their analysis. 100 university students participated in the survey. Most of the questions related to all students without distinction as to their diet, and some concerned only students who eat alternatively. The results of the practical part showed that 24 respondents (25 %) are completely satisfied with their daily energy intake. 41 students (42 %) pay attention to eating habits. The impact of nutrition on the growth and development of children

This thesis deals with an influence of nutrition on growth and development of children. Theoretical part is dealing in details about nutrition facts from an early childhood to adolescence. Practical part of the thesis deals with questionare-research, performed at Prague elementary schools and high school. Number of probands was 192. The total number of girls was 107, 88 girls from elementary schools and 19 from high school. The total number of boys was 85, 58 boys from elementary schools and 27 from high school. Age spectrum was between 10 and 18 years. Questionaire was focused on basic eating habits, which play an important role in presence of overweight and obesity in childhood. Alternative eating habbits and their perception by people aged 18-27

1 Abstract: This Bachelor's thesis is focused on problems of alternative nutrition and their knowledge and perception by young people in Czech republic. The Bachelor's thesis is divided into two parts; theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part the most popular alternative eating ways are analyzed. By a search was made text about general characteristic of alternative diets and about healthy benefits and risks resulting from their compliance. In this part is the characteristic of young people group by psychosocial view. There are included the discussion about reasons why they can decide to compliance alternative nutrition and their general attitude to nutrition and healthy lifestyle. The practical part tries to explain the context between nutrition and health for respondents and their knowledge about alternative dietology and their general relationship to alternative nutrition. These facts were evaluated by anonymous questionnare. We can see that the majority part of respondents doesn't observe principals of alternative dietology but they have knowledge about it. Their perception is positive and some of respondents regulate their food. The absolute majority of respondents doesn't percept the strict observe better for their body health than racional nutrition. This bachelor thesis focuses on healthy eating and alternative dietary lifestyles in catering establishments. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the market in terms of offering alternative food services in the centre of the capital city of Prague and as well in terms of consumer demand for these services. The theoretical part contains characteristics of used terms, describes eating as a process of ensuring nutrition and especially basic and some specialized streams of alternative dietary lifestyles. The research itself is divided into two parts. The first section is devoted to the analysis of the supply of catering services in the centre of Prague with a focus on alternative dietary lifestyles. The second section of the practical part deals with the consumer demand for these services, which has been identified through a questionnaire.
Vegetarianism and pregnancy

Introduction: Master's thesis is focused on the problems facing vegetarianism during pregnancy. Further study is focused particularly on the exploration of pregnant vegetarian's dietary habits. Object: The theoretical part's target is to familiarise readers with vegetarianism and pregnant vegetarian's diet. The practical part is focused on pregnant vegetarian's dietary habits, finding if those women are drawn to alternatives relating to decisions regarding their own bodies and if they will follow a vegetarian diet with their children. Methods: The survey was conducted through an anonymous online questionnaire. The data obtained is represented in graphs and tables. One part of the work is devoted to the analysis of the data. Results: The theoretical part shows that compilation of a properly assembled vegetarian diet during pregnancy requires enough relevant information. The survey shows that the majority of respondents eat mostly varied food according to the principles of healthy nutrition with respect to vegetarianism. The greater part of the respondents tend to alternatives in relation to decisions about their own bodies.
