Klimeš, Jakub ; Elešová, Klára (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Petříček, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a mixed-use building at a crossing of two streets, Táborská and Nezamyslova, in the district of Židenice, Brno. The aim of the work is to come up with a new architectural and urbanistic concept, which will also enhance the vicinity of the building. The house itself has four storeys. The ground floor is reserved for commerce, such as shops, and a future expansion with a small cafeteria is planned. The following three floors are residential. Part of the second floor serves as a roof terrace for the inhabitants of the building. The structure terminates with a flat green roof. There are two underground parking storeys, with places reserved not only for the inhabitants of the building, but also of the surrounding area, which improves rentability. The concept tries to unify the corner of the two streets and reacts to the surrounding structures. The last house on Táborská street is a three-storey house, while the one on Nezamyslova is a two-storey one. For those reasons, the floor plan of the building has the shape of an “L”, and there is an indent in the eastern part, which corresponds with the house on Nezamyslova street. This indent forms the aforementioned roof terrace. The concept also incorporates the public space in front of the house, which is dominated by a chapel. This area shields the building from the noisy streets. A large amount of greenery, especially birches, is proposed in this space, to improve the greenery coefficient of the plot. The façade consists of hung anodized aluminium panels, which are anchored into the walls of the structure. The object is located in a very busy area, which makes it obvious to use the ground floor for rentable commercial spaces. The apartments themselves are placed into the following three floors. The aim is to reduce the noise from the street as much as possible, and thus the sleeping and living rooms are all oriented into the private courtyard. There is a total of 14 apartm
The multifunctional building in Brno Zidenice
Sochorová, Jana ; ing.arch. Lukáš Ležatka, Ph.D (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Berková, Petra (advisor)
Corner building is located in part of city Brno – Zidenice. Object is separate on two function parts – first one is the healthcare center with practitioner and specialist doctors offices, that part is situated in the first floor. Second part is the flats and the parking in the basement belong to those flats. Land lot has a shape of rectangle same as the building. Modul scheme of columns divides object into square parts. By gradually deleting these square parts created object into terraced apartment building. These terraces are pointed into the courtyard. Deleting one square part in first floor plan is made an atrium space accessible from waiting room of healthcare center. Terraces for each apartments in another floors are made by same way. Object makes private spaces for its users. Terraces are opened on east, north and west. Important and characteristic part of object is shape of fourth floor, where is wall bevelled inside. Point of this bevel is to make building optically smaller because of neighbouring buildings are lower than apartment house. In future we assume with increasing buildings. Next important part is irregularly arrangement of windows. Main function is to lighten room as much as possible, but even architectural expression of house. Irregular windows of different sizes are in some parts of house added with shiplap facade window system, which allows big format glass and ventilation. Behind these big windows is sliding patio doors.

The territory in question for the design of architectural study is located in the city of Brno-Zidenice, cadastral area of Zidenice, on the left (east) bank of the river Svitava, 2 km east of the historic core. An area of about 4.1 ha is bounded on the south Bubenickova street, on the east side is street Kopernikova, Lazaretni is on the north and on the west side is nameless street, which currently serves as a handler - connecting. The subject of this diploma thesis is the architectural study of the design of the urban spatial structure with intensive use of city urban area, designed in pre-diploma project, which preceded diploma thesis. The meaning this proposal is to achieve higher densities while maintaining quality of life and living environment. The shape of the object´s ground plan based on the area. The shape defined Bubenickova street from the south side and street Kopernikova defined the shape from the east side, which are themselves almost perpendicular. Also the shape is parallel with a very important point territory - the urban spa (architect B. Fuchs, 1931), which is adjacent to the proposed facility and the stresses their importance in terms of architecture. The spatial resolution respects the surrounding buildings. The aim is to release the most western part, which is defined for parking, urban public transportation, entrances to underground garages and green areas. Green area is also located in the northern part of the territory where it is created park with a water feature and tangled hiking trails. From the western and eastern parts of the object is tree-lined because the object is very the close to the surrounding streets. The object is for vehicular traffic completely closed and is only for pedestrians. But it also has a public plaza with green areas and water features for relaxation and wellbeing.

The specified area is located in the city district Brno - Židenice, near the railway station. The theme of the thesis is the architectural study of selected part of the multifunctional intense urban structure, which was solved in the pre-diploma project. Draft uses the building site intensively, provides high plot ratio and density of population, a wide range of functions in a relatively small area is related to the elimination of transportation. By using topography the proposal creates a permeable areas, buildings with relations to the surroundings and with quality public spaces and attractive housing. Pick-up railway cancels barrier and makes a space with landscaping. Readability is achieved by linking the territory from east to west by straight streets and from north to south by passages. The development creates three centers, the commercial center of the north, center of culture in the heart of the area and the center of relaxation and sport in the south. Basic grid of development has a checkerboard plan, which reflects the grid of surrounding structure. The new development varies in its scale, from large scale buildings in the parterre decays into smaller scale. Function division is horrizontal. There are underground parking, a parterre with shops and services, a floor with offices and work study open to the courtyard and housing on the upper floors. Thus formed structure provides enough light in the courtyards and flats. The segmentation is supported by materials, bricks in the parterre contrast with the monotone plaster on the upper floors.

The theme of the project is concept of the new building of swimming pool in locality Brno-Židenice. The land is located on the west of district area Brno-Židenice, in close proximity to district area Brno-Vinohrady. The proposal is based on the shape of the land, which is very irregular and sloping, from the location of the new building on existing policlinic and compliance with sufficient distance from policlinic. The object is partially buried in the slope and consists of three united masses, two of which have two floors, the third mass is „a rootstock“ and connects the other two mass - entry, the communications space. Two higher masses, at first glance, to give the impression that there's something interesting - in one of them is wellness and fitness, in the second is locker room and the main space with swimming pools. The facade is designed to not too much contrast with the older building of policlinic. It's designed white plaster with glass surfaces and irregular windows with hidden frame. It was important to keep a distance from policlinic and ensure front space of object, where they can contact and pass as patients of policlinic, so visitors of swimming centre. This space can also serve to rest.

Dušek, Martin ; Novák, Martin (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis project deals with the problematic part of bycicle path along Svitava river, around the crossing with Hladíkova street. A safe pedestrian crossing for a path frequented by cyclists, skaters and pedestrians is missing, which results in unsafe crossings of busy four-lane road l/42. The bycicle path in the project is designed on the west side of the river under the road bridge to avoid any kind of contact between the cyclists/skaters/pedestrians with road l/42 and to ensure the fastest and safest possible transit of both cyclists and cars. Emphasis was put on the stability of construction in precipice, tolerance of the construction against water and effective longitudinal slope and length of path ratio, to ensure safe concurrent passage of both cyclists and pedestrians.
