Designing a virtual world for testing autonomous vehicles
Turek, Martin ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kučera, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with a design of a virtual world for testing autonomous vehicles, which is based on a real location in the Czech Republic. A vehicle controlled by a flawed autonomous driving algorithm or ADAS system potentially poses a major safety risk to all road users. Because of that everything needs to be tested very thoroughly, with a virtual simulation environment being a cost-effective alternative to the expensive testing of prototypes in the real world. A detailed virtual representation of the selected location was created in the RoadRunner software using digital maps and photographs. The functionality of the created world was verified in Unreal Engine through a simple simulation designed in the Simulink environment. The output of this work is a functional virtual environment, representing the immediate surroundings of the FME in Brno. The created world contains all important road infrastructure, and the visual authenticity of road surroundings is achieved by the placement of 3D models of real objects.
Unreal Engine virtual environment for testing
Bazhenov, Danil ; Hůlka, Tomáš (referee) ; Nevoral, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis introduces the reader to the capabilities of the Unreal Engine and its practical implementation. The theoretical part describes a brief history of the program. Furthermore, attention is paid to the description of pathfinding algorithms and the study of the Spot robot. The practical part describes a self-made project inside the program, where the robot uses the search algorithm in different environments.
Virtual reality cyber gym
Interactive Application Using UnrealScript
Musil, Miloš ; Pečiva, Jan (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
This work is focused on the creating of projects in Unreal Developement Kit, mainly on their programming in language UnrealScript. There are shortly discused tools, integrated into UDK for creating scenes and operating their inner logic, same as some more significant classes of UnrealScript for work with game camera, HUD, elaborating user inputs and others. In the end, there is joined comparasion between UnrealScript and some other languages, usable for creation of user interfaces and evaluation of user tests, executed on final project in UDK.
Visualization Project Based on Unreal Development Kit
Bury, Jiří ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Pečiva, Jan (advisor)
This work focuses on game development in the Unreal Development Kit (UDK). There are discussed technologies powering the Unreal Engine 3 and tools that includes UDK. The thesis also deals with solution of a fully dynamic day cycle, advanced materials processing and generally scene creation for the game and cinematic industry. Related to skinning, rigging, texturing, importing into UDK, assigning materials and linking with the UnrealScript code, the modeling procedure of objects is explained in detail (in this case on a car).
Evaluation of blinking and the observed place on the monitor
Klimeš, Petr ; Jirgl, Miroslav (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to create a system for user’s gaze and eye analysis in a driving simulator. There is a research of existing methods for facial landmark detection, head pose and gaze estimation and eye blink detection. Software and hardware of the simulator is described and a camera is added for user recording. In the main part, the Eye Aspect Ratio method is tested for blink detection. Next, head pose detection from facial landmarks is tested. Furthermore, Convolutional Neural Networks are created and trained for gaze estimation. From existing algorithms, OpenFace library is tested. OpenFace library is added to existing software in Unreal Engine and used for gaze and blink detection. A gaze calibration procedure is created and tested for better accuracy.
Architectural visualization in virtual reality
VR Innovative Game Demo in UE4
Doležal, Josef ; Chlubna, Tomáš (referee) ; Milet, Tomáš (advisor)
The task of this bachelor thesis is to create a demo application for virtual reality using Unreal engine 4. Main mechanics are gravity sfere, simulating custom gravity and mirror portals with an ability to teleport a player to a previous or any other destination. All prefabs are free to be used in another Unreal engine 4 projects.
Image and Video Interpretation of Sound Data
Milota, Vojtěch ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Říha, Kamil (advisor)
This work deals with image and video interpretation of sound data. It focuses on time variant parameters of sound and musical signal and its analysis. Different approaches of image and video interpretation of musical data and its evolution is investigated. The work consists of realisation of image and video interpretation using different software tools and methods. Possible development of audio-visual production using latest tools is predicted.
