American corporate culture

The objective of this thesis is to characterize the corporate culture of the United States, both from a theoretical and practical point of view, taking into account some specific U.S. companies. The entire thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is solely theoretical and its purpose is to familiarize the reader with the most basic terms connected with this topic (i.e. culture, national culture, corporate culture, etc.). The second chapter deals with the specific typologies and theories of national and corporate culture. The third subsequent chapter analyzes both the relationship between national and corporate culture, as well as the comparison of Czech and American culture. On top of thar, the Hofstede's and Trompenaars's dimensions are used in this chapter to help highlight the differences but also common features of both nations. The fourth chapter is devoted to the American corporate culture, focusing on its connection with corporate identity, the importance of code of ethics and the portrayal of the work environment and employment process in the United States. The final fifth chapter contains the analysis of information obtained from interviews with employees of four U.S. based companies, as well as of the FBI agency.
Comparison of American and Czech corporate culture in services

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to characterize and compare American and Czech corporate culture in services. At first I describe Geert Hofstede's and Alfons Trompenaars' cultural dimensions and character of Americans. After that I define corporate culture, characteristics of American and Czech company culture and basic rules of etiquette. Also information on how to successfully negotiate and communicate with Czechs and Americans are mentioned here. The last part of this thesis covers topics such as work environment in the Czech republic and the United States of America, employee's approach to customers, seniors and colleagues, and improving measures that, according to me, should be put into practice. Information contained in the last chapter come mainly from my personal experience.
Transatlantic economic relations

This bachelor thesis focuses on the economic relations between the United States of America and the European Union, not only on the trading, but also on the diplomatic relations. The thesis describes the development of the relations within the last century, euroatlantic trade with goods, services and FDI. The main goal of the thesis is to show the future of this partnership and introduce the free trade agreement that has been prepared by both sides. Another goal is to analyze the crucial role of the transatlantic area for the whole world and its global issues. The final part analyzes the biggest disputes between USA and the EU.
The Influence of Cultural Differences and Specifics on the Marketing Strategy of McDonald's - Comparison of the Czech Republic and the USA

The Bachelor's Thesis is focused on cultural and business practices of the United States of America and the Czech Republic. The main goal is to thoroughly examine all the differences in the mentality of these nations using Hofstede's cultural dimensions, and then illustrate these findings on the implementation of marketing and business strategy of McDonald's company. The thesis is concluded by specific examples of marketing and sales campaigns that took place in these two regions.
Theatre fundraising in the USA

The aim of this work is to analyse different sources of theatre fundraising in the USA and focus our attention on some practical tools that four selected theatres use and which help them to secure a future without major contribution from the state. This bachelor thesis should serve as an informational material discussing American theatre system with emphasis on fundraising methods and their application. This thesis pays attention to the practical part, which describes few specific models how to fundraise. Those four very different theatres show us many ways how to target a campaign and work as a fundraiser. In conclusion, I suggest few theories and examples how czech theatres might develop fundraising in the future.
Tax Credits

The main objective of this Bachelor thesis is to describe actual legislation governing tax credits in the Czech Republic, followed by a comparison to the United States legislation. The opening chapter introduces basic terms used in connection with tax topics. The second chapter characterizes the structural elements of taxes and defines tax credits, particularly their relation to tax deductions. Chapter three and four outline the current legislation on tax credits in both countries, which is compared in the conclusion of the study.
Analysis of the Conditions for a Company Entering Into a Foreign Market

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the conditions for companies which would like to enter a foreign market. I have chosen the company Stuha for my thesis. The company has been operating in motorcycle industry, specifically the speedway frames, since 1994. The company wants to expand its products to the market of the USA.In the assessment of the situation in selected company interview, comparison, SWOT analysis and Fuller's triangle were used. For the company Stuha is not possible to open its own shop in the U. S. I would recommend to find someone, who is familiar with the U. S. market. It will be easier for the company Stuha to enter the market. In the thesis there were certain changes for the Stuha company designed. They include change of the bank account, establishment of a limited liability company, purchase of accounting software, registered trademarks and new property insurance.
Analysis US Monetary Policy between the years 2001-2005

With the extension and deepening of the financial and economic crisis, many views are directed to pre-crisis monetary policy of the central bank of the United States. This work is focused on the analysis of the value of federal interest rates in 2001-2005. The analysis is performed by using selected monetary policies - famous Taylor rule, McCallum rule and Gali rule. The work provides us with a comprehensive view of the interest rate compared with the outputs of these monetary rules.
Analysis of Current Banking System of USA

The aim of this bachelor thesis is analysis of current state of the U.S. banking system with seraparated descriptions of central and commercial banking. First, the bachelor thesis explains terms bank and banking system. The subsequent part of the thesis is focused on overview of the most important banking laws in american history stressing out the newest acts. The third part presents a comprehensive view on the central banking system of USA. Final part discusses current state of commercial banking, primarily focusing on description of recent events in banking system and with characteristics of the largest banking institutions in the country.
Ethical codes in parliaments in presidential, semi-presidential and parliamentary system - case of USA, France and Great Britain

Regulation of ethical regimes in parliaments seems to be a current issue in many (not only) western democratic countries. This thesis discusses comparison of ethical codes in parliaments of Great Britain, France and United States of America. Chosen countries have been selected regarding the fact that each country has different political system: parliamentarism in UK, semi-presidencialism in France and presidencialism in USA. The main aim of this work is to find out whether the difference of political systems could affect the scope and content of ethical codes. In order to achieve this task, the author uses the method of analysis and subsequent comparison of individual ethical codes. The thesis is structured into four parts. First part deals partly with theories of representation and mandate and also with particular political systems in selected countries. In second part the author describes codes of ethics in general and also benefits for citizens and legislators connected with adoption of ethical code. Third part analyzes codes of ethics adopted by particular chambers of selected parliaments. Respective comparison of ethical codes and regulations of ethic regimes is contained in the final part.
