Using Advanced xBSD Based Servers for High School
Zadina, Martin ; Michal, Bohumil (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is about setting up Samba software on server with operating system from BSD family to primary domain controller rule in the high school computer network environment with Microsoft Windows stations. After introduction to Samba software there is examined problem of Windows network based on SMB protocol. There are described steps that are necessary to setup Samba software, disk sharing services, creation of user accounts and adding client stations to domain trust. At the next there is described problematic of network printing in the Windows environment, print servers and the solution with classical printing support in FreeBSD and CUPS printing support. In the next part there is described mass installation procedure of Windows stations with same hardware configuration. At the finish, there are noticed some tasks that are necessary for next operation of installed system.
Simple File Sharing via SMB Protocol in Nautilus
Lipovský, Jan ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis describes implementation of Nautilus Extension with graphic user interface in GNOME desktop environment using GTK+ library. Daemon serves incoming request from GUI and changes configuration file of Samba system. Final program will share selected directory via SMB protocol.
Universal linux server for small and medium companies enabling simple network control
Juřena, Stanislav ; Pust, Radim (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
The main object of this thesis was to design a computer network for small and medium companies which will be made among others from network server providing simple network control. The next task was to provide internet connection to subscribers of local area network, their security and access to common services. There had been discussed the choice of distribution of Linux operation system with regarding to demanded services, stability and long lasting operation in theoretical part. One part of the work is a theoretic preliminary to separate services, to the purpose of their using and to their weaknesses. The practical part deals with an installation and configuration of Debian operating system, launching the base services and the setting of selected monitoring programs.
Linux cluster for assurance of stability and security of network environment with internal services
Šála, Jakub ; Herman, Ivo (referee) ; Pfeifer, Václav (advisor)
There are described problems about building Linux cluster with high available data storage Lustre and company server solution establishe on virtualization. At the end the thesis performed measurement of cluster availability and out come estimation.
Realization and optimalization of data storage server
Holík, Martin ; Urban, František (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with realization and optimization of datacentres, specializing on the servers’ design area. The assessment comprises of theoretical problem analysis, such as virtualization, virtualization platform, data sharing, as well as cloud storage production design. Final conception is implemented on the physical serveresign.
Installation, configuration and testing of server services www, e-mail, DNS and SAMBA in IPv4 and IPv6 environments
Dosoudil, Petr ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to show how to put server services like www, e-mail, DNS and SAMBA into operation within operating systems Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Debian. The theoretical part is focused on description of individual services and principles of their functioning. The chapter is furthermore supplemented by known problems of TCP/IP, including layers and differences between IPv4 and IPv6. In the practical part, there is specific way of implementation of every service suggested, i.e. how to deal with installation and configuration of those services for selected operating systems. Outcome of this bachelor thesis are detailed instructions for laboratory tasks, which are intended for students of Brno University of Technology. Tasks are designed to be solvable even by students who are less experienced and less acquainted with the subject.
Low-power internet server
Dohnal, Petr ; Pristach, Marián (referee) ; Pavlík, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this work is to describe the basic mechanisms of memory management and access to peripherals via EBI at the ARM9 microcontroller family. It is a solution for connecting physical ethernet interface, SD / MMC card to the device and design a development kit with the ability to connect a hard or SSD drive. The second part is aimed at operating system Linux, its modification for the ARM9 family of microcontrollers and installing software packages.

Choosing a Linux distribution for file server
Paznocht, Jiří ; Pícka, Marek (advisor) ; Mikoláš, Mikoláš (referee)
Goal of this thesis named "Choosing a Linux server for file server" is to find out optimal distribution of Linux for this server. In theoretical part we will be introduced with project GNL/Linux, with his history and architecture of core. Next we will describe problemation of operating systems as them own and their functions. Main thesis characterize each of one distributions. After selecting the various criteria by which it will be made selection are assigned to these criteria, the value of each entering variants. Selection is made by the multiple criteria analysis method. In thesis is used method summary of weight. For correct process of this method have to be input file edited to normalized file and every criterions have to be rated by weights. For intend weights is use Saaty's method. In end of thesis are implemented and conclusions results of conducted analysis.
Linux file server configuration on Rapsberry Pi
Hrabaň, Adam ; Pícka, Marek (advisor) ; Brožek, Jiří (referee)
Theoretical part of Bachelor thesis introduces briefly operating system Linux. How Linux was founded, its basic parts, funcions, file systems and network services which will be used for fileserver configuration. Samba service is introduced, also Raspberry Pi and its alternative Banana Pi. Practical part describes Linux installation on this platform, Samba installation, its configuration and go-live. In next part a set of tests is performed to prove how the new solution works and performs. Conclusion is that chosen project has fulfilled goals and expectations and that it also is not very energy consuming.
