Synthesis and evaluation of potential antifungal agents
Straková, Jana ; Krátký, Martin (advisor) ; Novotná, Eva (referee)
Mycotic systemic infection is often very severe, whether due to patient immunodeficiency, the side effects of available antifungal agents, or clinical or drug resistance. Emphasis should therefore be placed on the timely determination of the correct diagnosis, appropriate indications of current drugs, and especially the development of new antifungal agents (ATM). The core of all synthesized compounds is the molecule of itaconic acid (IA) or its anhydride. The starting molecule was chosen based on its broad spectrum of biological activities, including antibacterial and antifungal activities. The aim was to create ten monoamides using a one-step synthesis of IA anhydride with the appropriate chlorinated aniline. These monoamides were then cyclized to form ten imides. The yields of the reactions to form the monoamides were high, with two exceptions (24% and 31%), and were generally above 80%. The yields of the reactions to form the imides were lower, ranging from 29% to 86%. The antimicrobial activity was tested using the broth microdilution method for all imides and most monoamides. All compounds were ineffective against gram-negative bacteria, and very low activity against gram-positive bacteria was shown by the compounds 1-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-3-methylene-2,5-pyrrolidinedione,...
Verification of corrosion resistance of hyperduplex austenitic-ferritic stainless steel
Trkola, Ota ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kaněra, Miloš (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the corrosive resistance of a cast hyper duplex austenitic-ferritic steel. It is a prospective stainless steel that could be applied in foundry practice as a casting material in the future. The theoretical part contains an analysis of the principles of corrosion and the influence of the chemical composition on the structure and properties of steel. A significant part concerns duplex steels, especially their resistance to local types of corrosion expressed by the theoretical PRE number. The practical part of the work focuses on testing the corrosion resistance of hyper duplex steel using the corrosion test according to the ASTM G48 standard. The evaluation compares the corrosion attack with other alloys.
Program for calculating the resistance of earthing systems
Gura, Roman ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Vyčítal, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of grounding systems, which are essential for the safety and reliability of electrical installations. The aim of this thesis is to develop a software tool for calculating the parameters of grounding systems based on their geometric dimensions, in accordance with corporations’ norms. Resulting program automates the calculations using an intuitive graphic interface including the display of the system.
Modern Cooling Concepts of Electrical Machines
Lukášek, Jan ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Toman, Marek (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the research of modern concepts of cooling of electrical machines. The first part of the thesis deals with the origin and calculation of losses causing heating of electrical machines. The second part describes the mechanisms of heat transfer and basic relations of fluid mechanics. The third part describes the basic principles of cooling of electrical machines. The final part of the thesis describes modern concepts and innovations in cooling systems for electrical machines described in the third part and separate modern innovations.

Electronic RLC meter
Dvořák, Radim ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Lattenberg, Ivo (advisor)
This work deals with measurement methods of passive components R, L ,C used almost in every electrical circuit. Work describes progress of choosing the right methods for measurement and also the process of designing the autonomous RLC meter with use of ATMEL microprocessor chips. The RLC meter will be powered from rechargable battery and will be able to measure primary attributes of RLC components.
Analysis of the earth dam monitoring of the water structure Karolinka
Koudelková, Eva ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the monitoring of the Karolinka water reservoir earth dam. For the reason of seepage detected on the downstream face of the dam, the water reservoir was operated in a limited regime practically from its beginning. One of the most significant interventions aimed at reducing them was the installation of a sealing wall realized in 2013. Since 2011, the earth dam has been pilot-monitored by probes of the electrical impedance spectrometry method. The thesis deals with the processing of the data obtained by this method and with the comparison of the determined electrical conductivity of the dam soil with the data measured on the earth dam (temperature, water level in the reservoir, seepage) before and after installation of the sealing wall.
Monitoring the influence of concrete composition on abrasion resistance
Černá, Hana ; Novosad, Petr (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the resistance of concrete to abrasion with regard to the raw materials used for their production. In the theoretical part of the thesis are described admixtures, different types of aggregate and aggregate composition which influence the resistance of concrete to abrasion. In the experimental part, 15 different C30 / 37, S4 concrete formulations were proposed. Different types of aggregates - fecal gravel (Žabčice), biotic granodiorite (Olbramovice) and amphibolite (Želešice) have always been used in the recipes. Fine ground limestone, micro-silica, high-temperature fly ash and finely ground slag were ingredients that were added to the proposed recipes. Consistency was determined by the method of cone seating and the density of fresh concrete. In the hardened state, concrete density, compressive strength, bending tensile strength, tensile strength, watertightness, concrete absorption, and abrasion resistance were determined using the Böhm method and wide wheel method. The test specimens were tested after 7, 28, and 90 days of maturation.
