Interaction of melted nickel alloys with materials of ceramic cores
Feller, Šimon ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
This study focuses on the interactions between the IN713LC alloy and various oxide ceramics and oxide coatings commonly used for casting applications in the aerospace or medical industries. The investigated ceramics are based on SiO2, ZrO2, ZrSiO4, Al2O3 and Y2O3. An experimental design proposed for the purpose of this study produced samples used to examine the chemical composition of the metal-oxide ceramic interface. This study compares the findings from the samples with assumptions derived from thermodynamic calculations or thermodynamic conclusions stated in scientific articles with similar themes.
Influence of Mn and Cu on the structure and mechanical properties of cast iron
Musil, Ivo ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor’s diploma thesis deals with the influence of various factors, especially the chemical composition, on the structure and properties of graphitic cast irons. In the practical part, a planned experiment verifying the influence of manganese and copper on the mechanical properties and structure of graphitic cast irons is carried out, in which samples of cast iron with flake graphite alloyed with different manganese and copper contents are cast, the resulting hardness is measured and their structured is examined.
Production and properties of high-strength cast irons in the cast state
Vávrová, Veronika ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on production of high-strength cast iron in the cast state, where the heat treatment is not needed. In the first part there is a description of possible structures of ductile iron. Then the production of heat treated high-strength ductile iron and the production of high-strength ductile iron in the cast state are presented. There is an experiment included to demonstrate the possibility of this technology.
Manufacturing, structure and properties of cast iron with globular graphite produced on electric furnaces
Tvrdoň, Tomáš ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the technology of production of ductile iron with lower production costs. The thesis takes into account quality in terms of internal structure and mechanical properties. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part is about theoretical analysis of the topic of graphite cast irons with a more detailed discussion of the chemical composition, structure and properties of ductile iron. The experimental part deals with the production of ductile iron on electric arc and induction furnaces with different metall charging. Subsequently, the structures and mechanical properties of the ductile iron produced on these two melting aggregates are compared. An important part of this work is also an economic evaluation, where the proposed variants are compared in terms of metall charging and used melting aggregates.
Cleanliness of steels manufactured in vacuum induction furnaces
Pastyřík, Petr ; Záděra, Antonín (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The topic of this thesis is the micropurity of steels manufactured in vacuum induction furnaces. The thesis describes 3 processes of steel melting using the same type of steel with different production parameters. Subsequently, samples were prepared and based on those samples the micropurities of the melting processes were evaluated. To obtain the results image analysis and electron microscope were used. Furthermore, elemental analyzer was used to measure the content of oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur and carbon. Afterwards, a discussion on micropurity and comparison of the melting processes is presented. In the conclusion section there are some possible suggestions concerning operation of the university foundry.
Production and use of zinc alloy castings
Odehnal, Pavel ; Müller, Peter (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the development of a literature search dealing with zinc production and its applications. The theoretical part is focused on the methods of production of pure zinc, the alloys used and the methods of processing of these alloys. Furthermore, selected branches of application of castings in industry are described. The work is supplemented by an experiment concerning the evaluation and remedy of defects occurring on the component.
Production of castings from austenitic-ferritic hyperduplex stainless steels
Kaněra, Miloš ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
The thesis deals with hyper duplex stainless austenitic-ferritic steels and their mechanical and castability properties. The evaluation of resistance to pitting corrosion is divided by PRE values. Steels with a PRE value higher than 48 belong to the group of hyper duplex steels. The theoretical part contains an introduction to the chemical composition, structure and properties of these steels. The practical part is focused on the conditions of tendency to crack castings during solidification and cooling. Furthermore, there is evaluated influence of intermetallic phases on mechanical properties.
Heat treatment of aluminum castings
Mátl, Vojtěch ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of heat treatment of aluminium castings. The first part of this thesis comprises of casting alloys and casting technology summary, followed by description of aluminium heat treatment. The second part descibes an experimet, that examins the effect of conditions during aging upon final aluminium alloy properties.
Production of lever fuse casting for hose coupling
Tvrdoň, Tomáš ; Myška, Martin (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The first part of this bachelor’s thesis is just a theory and it is focused on producing castings with method of impermanent moulds. You can find here basic classification of moulds and afterwards sand moulds and ceramic moulds are described. The second part is practical and it is focused on a production of lever fuse which defends disconnection of the fire hose when it is under the pressure of water. Lost wax casting was chosen for the production. In this part is described full process from pattern making, gluing to wax tree, covering to metal casting. The whole practical part is accompanied by authentic pictures which were made during the process.
