Needs of parents of children with multiple disabilities at an early age fot individualized early intervention

Introduction: The arrival of a child with multiple disabilities (MD) in a family is a difficult situation. Increased stress of parents of (MD) is often related to the non-fulfillment of the needs, leads to frustration and deprivation that can result in serious health problems. The aim is the subjectively defined and described life with a child (MD), focusing on the needs of these parents resulting from the daily care of the child. Aim: Identify, describe and analyze the needs of parents of children with MD at an early age. Methods: Qualitative approach using the biographical narrative method. The research design is a case study. Methodological triangulation: three methods of collecting data: biographical curve, in-depth interview, Cantril's ladder. Results: all cases were compared with each other. 12 parents' needs were identified. The Cantril's ladder method found significantly unmet needs: Need for rest and Need for medical care. Conclusion: The main contribution of the work is to understand the individuality and needs of parents of children with multiple disabilities, as a possibility to provide purposefully individualized early intervention, to streamline the process of planning, implementation and evaluation of provided care and thus contribute to the quality of life of the whole family.

Communication skills development of early-age child with cochlear implants

The diploma thesis focuses on the communication skills development of a girl who underwent cochlear implantation at an early age. This thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The first chapter defines the hearing impairment in the sense of classification ways, diagnostics methods, and its consequences. The second chapter describes the speech development of intact and hearing-impaired children. The choice of the therapeutic method is described as well. The third chapter is focused on cochlear implantation and explains the functioning mechanism. Also, the thesis mentions the history and current manufacturers of cochlear implants. The following part of this chapter is devoted to the comprehensive care of cochlear implant users, specifically the therapeutic process. The last section contains the list of diagnostic materials used for the communication skills assessment of implanted children. The research part aims to explore the process of communication skills development of a girl implanted due to the bilateral congenital deafness via a longitudinal case study. For data collection, the methods of medical reports analysis, interview with the parents and early care counselor and observation at home were used. Once upon a time - Images of the unknown

Master's thesis applies theme unknown landscape. The theoretical part is devoted to concept landscape, which is viewed from different perspectives in the work; from defining the landscape as a generic term through subjective perception to the possibility of its use as an imaginative space. The research part describes field research, which deals with issues of different interpretations of landscape perception by children of younger school age. Within the framework of the didactic part are presented the tasks in which the theme of an unknown country is reflected in various forms and are designed for art lessons in elementary schools. Finally practic part of my work comes out from theme unknown countryside and I try to express my own artistic expression. Role of special educator in the family of a child with disabilities at an early age

In the thesis on the role of special educator in the family of a child with a disability at an early age to deal with the issue of early care. Now through early care are special educator comes into direct contact with the family of a child with a disability at an early age and plays an essential role in the life of a family. The work outlines the normal development of a child at an early age, I deal with family situations in which a child is born with a disability. I clarify the concept of early care and all of what this entails. Then monitors the situation in early care services in the region Kladno, primarily services the two main providers of early intervention in this region, Kolping Family Center Smečno and help vulnerable children Rosa Kladno. The practical part is based on qualitative research methods in the form of an interview with mothers of children with disabilities using the services and facilities listed through dialogues with employees providing these services. The aim of my work is to find out what the situation is in providing early care Kladno, what are its specifics, benefits, advantages, disadvantages.

Orientation and mobility of children with visual and multiple disabilities in early childhood

This thesis deals with orientation and mobility (O&M) of children with visual and multiple disabilities in early childhood years. It provides basic information about individuals with visual and multiple disabilities, about early childhood, about early intervention, about O&M, about importance of family and about possibilities of support in early learning. The main attention is focused on content areas of O&M in early childhood years and devices O&M for children. It also deals with the situation in the sphere of O&M for children in early childhood in the Czech Republic.
