Legal regulation of the product placement a its utilization by the czech television

The main aspects of this thesis is the analysis of the legal regulation of the product placement and its utilization by the Czech television. Czech law comes from the Directive 2007/65/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, therefore several chapters are dedicated to secondary law of the European Union. The last part of this thesis includes few ideas about the law de lege ferenda. The second part of this thesis consists of the application of the product placement by the Czech television and there is a comparative analysis with selected television shows from around the world. The comparison is made with the similar shows in regards to their format and style. The result is a recommendation how to apply product placement in the future and kind of mistakes could be prevented.
The Regulation of Advertisement Loudness in Television Broadcast: The Global Context and the Czech Regulation

The thesis focuses primarily on the legal aspects of the regulation of the loudness of television broadcast, especially in connection to the issue of loud advertisement. First, technical specifics and aspects of sound production and monitoring of broadcast loudness are introduced. The following chapters are devoted to the international context of loudness regulation, mainly in connection to ITU and EBU, and to an analysis of the ways in which loudness regulation has been put into practice in selected countries (USA, France, and Poland). The second half of the thesis focuses on the history of regulation of television broadcast in the Czech Republic and how it found its way into the Czech legal code. Significant initiatives are introduced, as well as proposed laws and regulations, activities of the Czech regulatory body RRTV, the broadcasters' criticism, the final versions of the law and of the regulation, the actual impact on the Czech TV broadcast, the results of loudness measurements and the expected development in the future.
ETHICS OF WORKING WITH SYNCHRON IN TV NEWS AND PUBLICISTICS

The thesis Ethics of working with synchron in TV News and Publicistics analyzes the use of synchronized statements in media contents and the method of their preparation. Everything is integrated into an ethical framework and seeks to answer the question of how journalists can process the original material avoiding the misrepresentation of the data acquired. Certain parts of the thesis are devoted to the analysis of stand-ups. The analysis describes the work of all three national television stations - Czech Television, TV Nova and TV Prima, or mainly their main news broadcasts. The selected examples are trying to demonstrate the greatest mistakes which, from my point of view, reporters have committed. The second part of the analysis deals with two specific cases of working with synchrons which have been challenged. There is a former case of a charge of the Czech Televison. The politician Petr Nečas accused the medium of taking some of his words out from the context. The second issue, already settled, was dealt with by the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting (RRTV). It is an event from the spring of 2010, when an informal conversation between ODS chairman Mirek Topolánek and the general editor of LUI magazine was promoted in the media. Teleshopping and the teleshopping programs to view of regulation

The topic of this work is a specific segment of commercial media communication - teleshopping. The subject of teleshopping broadcasting is not only the direct sale of goods, but also the consumption of services, which may include participation in an interactive competition, prophecy or other esoteric service. Teleshopping as one of the forms of commercial communication is subject to the amendment to the Advertising Regulation Act, the Radio and Television Broadcasting Act and the On-demand Audiovisual Media Services Act. The case law of the Municipal Court in Prague and the Supreme Administrative Court is also an essential source of regulation. Examples of administrative practices of the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting describe the regulation of this segment of commercial communications and it captures a wide range of potential violations of legal regulations in the case of teleshopping broadcasts. The material for the comprehensive analysis of the issue puts teleshopping in a broader context, therefore it also describes other forms of commercial communications represented in the field of television broadcasting and explains the differences between types. Regulation of Television Advertising

The topic of this bachelor thesis is television advertising and its regulation in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of current television advertising regulation and demonstrate it in practice. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part focuses on the history of advertising and its regulation in this country, from its beginnings in the Austria-Hungary era up until today. Its second part contains an overview of present legal regulation of television advertising, beginning with a review of the impact of European law on the law in the Czech Republic followed by a breakdown of applicable statutes from the area of private law as well as public law, with a focus on unfair competition in relation to the former. The third part discusses the existence and functioning of the Council for Radio and Television Broadcasting and the Czech Advertising Standards Council. The fourth and final part focuses on advertising regulation in practice by demonstrating the application of legal standards and the work of the respective institutions on several real-life cases from the area of Czech television advertising.

Extent and use of advertisment on TV

The bachelor's thesis "Extent and use of advertisement on TV (permission of product placement from June 1st , 2010)" focuses on the change in Czech television production, caused by adoption of amendment to the law, which allows the use of product placement as a way of commercial communication and ranks it among the commercial TV products. The thesis briefly describes the evolution of product placement from the historical beginnings, through the success in motion pictures to the permission in TV broadcasting. It also describes the Czech Broadcasting Act and the interpretation of this law by the Czech Radio and Television Broadcasting Council (RRTV), focuses in more detail on the situation in the Czech TV stations, on the manners of use of the product placement and possible benefits it may have comparing to classical TV commercial spots. The study compares public Czech TV to private TV Nova, shows the examples in TV programs, in which the products were placed. This thesis also presents the opinions of media experts, advertisers, ratings and interventions by RRTV and audience's opinions. The aim of the thesis was to find out and evaluate, whether the PP entered the TV programs successfully, if the expectations of advertisers and broadcasters were fulfilled and how it affects the viewers.
