Impact of Human Factor on Industrial Furnace Safety
Mukhametzianova, Leisan ; Sinay, Juraj (referee) ; Dohnal, Mirko (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (advisor)
The presented doctoral thesis is focused on assessment of human factor impact on safety of industrial furnaces. Industrial furnaces are classified as machinery and belong to a group of industrial thermal equipment. The operation of industrial furnaces is burdened with the risks which the manufacturers and the furnace operators realize. The first part of the thesis presents an analysis of the current situation of legislation and scientific knowledges in the field of assessment of human factor impact on safety of industrial furnaces. In this part of the thesis the issue of human factor in other industrial branches: chemical industry, aviation and nuclear industry is also described. On the basis of conducted research the main aim of the thesis was established: preparation of a methodology for assessment of human factor impact on safety of industrial furnaces. Secondary targets were also listed. The second part deals with the assessment of risks connected with the operation of industrial furnaces and the assessment of human factor impact on safety of industrial furnaces. The furnace safety requirements, the process of furnaces risk assessment, the methods used for risk assessment and problems connected with the risk assessment are described. This part of the thesis explains the concept of human factor, presents a classification and description of the methods used for human reliability assessment, as well as the factors influencing the reliability of the operator. The third part of the thesis contains a proposed methodology for assessment of human factor impact on safety of industrial furnaces. Within the methodology performance shaping factors are stated, qualitative and quantitative assessment of human factor impact on safety of industrial furnaces is made and the system integration of the knowledges into the developed methodology is proposed – qualitative model for improvement of system state. The methodology is further verified on a real equipment – a hardening furnace.
Risk Analysis in Transport Infrastructure Projects
Hašek, Jiří ; Holá, Michaela (referee) ; Hromádka, Vít (advisor)
The subject of the master’s thesis is a risk analysis in transport infrastructure projects. In the theoretical part, I deal with public sector, life cycle of the project, evaluation of public projects, conception of risk, clasification of risk, risk analysis and valuation of the risk. In the practical section I process risk analysis of the project in transport infrastucture.
Risk Analysis of the Construction Investment Project
Šimák, David ; Výskala, Miloslav (referee) ; Korytárová, Jana (advisor)
This main goal of this bachelor thesis is analysing of risk of a building investment project. Theoretical part is focused on definition of risk, kind of risks and methodology of risk managing. In the next part are described risks in investing projects, which are used in engineering practise. Practical part of this thesis is evaluating of project sensitivity “Building of workspace hall of more purposes” funded by Střední odborná škola a Střední odborné učiliště.
Pilot study on the risk assessment of selected water supply
Jedličková, Ivana ; Svoboda,, Miroslav (referee) ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on risk evaluation of water line for public use. The risk analysis is done in compliance with the methodology created by VODÁRENSKÁ AKCIOVÁ SPOLEČNOST, a. s. and by the method WaterRisk, created by Institute of Municipal Water management, Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering. The thesis clarifies the key points of the topic in question. Its readiness for passing in the Czech Republic and its core in relation to legislature. Then the thesis also includes a description of a specific water line. In the following two chapters the risks are studied according to the methodologies chosen.
Modernization of the 2D manipulator model
Valenta, Jakub ; Stibor, Karel (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the safety of the triple device 2D manipulator. The thesis describes the design of the machine and its control systems. Emphasis is placed on the description of the safety functions used in the machinery and the safety evaluation procedure using a machine risk assessment. A proposal for the EC declaration of conformity has been drawn up for the machinery, together with the required supporting documents. A simple program for controlling the machine is still created and vitualization has been prepared. The machinery was tested by milling the BUT FEEC logo.
Modernization of the small press model
Prosecký, Jan ; Stibor, Karel (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the safety of pneumatic presses and the assessment of risks associated with the operation of this machinery. The theoretical part of the thesis describes a model of a small pneumatic press with its electrical and mechanical components. The task of the thesis was the reconstruction of a small pneumatic press, consisting in the replacement of the original PLC and its necessary components with a more modern model PLC 1769-L33ERMS from Allen-Bradley. The work also includes a risk assessment of the machinery according to EN ISO 12100. According to the risk assessment, the necessary safety modifications were proposed. The proposed safety modifications were later applied and verified. The thesis also deals with the development of the safety PLC program and also the development of the visualization. Finally, the technical documentation with a draft Declaration of Conformity is developed.
Risk Assessment of Public Water Supply System
Straková, Eliška ; Večeřa, Milan (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of risk assessment of public water supply systems. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the general theory of risk assessment is elaborated, which is then applied to the field of drinking water supply systems. The risk assessment of water supply systems in the Czech Republic is described in more detail here, including legislative requirements, pitfalls of the process and used methodologies. The methodology and software application WaterRisk were used for the practical part of the work. The risk assessment is done for a selected drinking water supply system, namely the water supply system of the village Boršice u Blatnice. At the end of the work, undesirable conditions with unacceptable risk level are evaluated and appropriate measures are proposed.

Automation for welding cell
Lorenc, Michal ; Stibor, Karel (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The work deals with automation, safety and control of the welding cell. At the beginning the possibilities of communication between the PLC and the robot are discussed. Then the work moves on to the definition of the cell requirements and the design of the function concept. This design is followed by a risk assessment which is followed by the design of risk reduction measures, including the design of the specific equipment used. This moves the work to the design and implementation of the control program for the PLC and HMI. The safety features proposed in the welding cell safety section are also addressed in the program. Following the implemented control program, a verification plan is designed and evaluated. And in the last section, suggestions for further development of the welding cell are written and the achieved results are summarized at the end.
