Strategic Management in Motol University Hospital

This master thesis deals with strategic analysis of Motol University Hospital, which belongs to the largest hospital complex in Central and Eastern Europe providing complex treatment of whole human body at any age (from prenatal to advanced age). The aim of the thesis is a description of hospital management and assessment of the possibility of using the Balanced Scorecard in health care. The theoretical part contains a basic description of strategy creation, selected methods for analysing internal and external environment and a general description of the Balanced Scorecard. The practical part comprises of an executed strategic analysis of Motol University Hospital, and assessment of hospital´s strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis). This thesis also contains a survey of scientific literature concerning the usage of the Balanced Scorecard in health care, specifically in hospitals. A result of this survey helps to assess the feasibility of introducing the Balanced Scorecard in Czech hospitals (those in state ownership). This thesis also includes a proposal of strategic perspectives for Motol University Hospital and an evaluation of advantages and disadvantages of implementation into hospital management. A strategy map displays relationships among proposed goals.

The thesis analyses environment of the company Vinotéka U Mouřenína, which carries on the import, selling and serving wine, cognac and delicates from the Czech Republic, France and Italy. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first one is theoretical and the second one is practical. PESTLE analysis is used to examine the macroenvironment and Porter five forces analysis is used to examine the microenvironment. At last SWOT analysis is used for analysing internal and external environment of the company. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the main factors affecting the company.

The aim of this thesys is to carry out a strategic analysis of the company Nutrend DS, which acts in the field of nutrition and provides nutritional supplements for athletes . Strategic and financial analysis were used throughout the work, in concrete the PESTLE analysis, competition in the industry , Porter five forces analysis and SWOT analysis. The theoretical part presents methods, which are subsequently applied to the practical part of the problem solving. Based on the data, recommendations and procedures were made to the company in order to improve its own strategic management.

Strategic analysis of Czech republic´s wine industry

The aim of the thesis is to analyze Czech republic's wine industry environment. Models used in the thesis are typical for strategic analysis and examine both macro and micro view of the examined entreprises. Firstly the PESTLE analysis will be conducted, describing political, economical, social, technological, legal and ecological aspects relevant to the industry within the Czech republic. Secondly I focus on the particular characteristics of the analyzed sector in terms of product differentiation, market size, competition, distribution channels and expected future trends. This characteristic also covers the financial sector analysis as well as value and bankruptcy models. Third section covers Porter five forces analysis and defines impact of new competitors, customers, suppliers, substitutes as well as existing competition. Last section consist of the SWOT analysis of identified market leader. It describes his strengths and weaknesses, and based on previous analyzes formulates opportunities and threats for the industry in which he is located.

The bachelor's thesis analyses a business environment of the company Severočeské doly, a. s.. The company's core business is the excavation, processing, and sale of brown coal and associated raw materials. The thesis has two parts, theoretic and analytic. 7S analysis is used to analyse the internal business environment. Porter five forces analysis is used to analyse the microenvironment and PESTLE analysis is used to analyse the macroenvironment. The last analysis is the SWOT analysis, in which I use outcomes of previous analyses. The main goal of this thesis is to analyse key factors, which have positive or negative influence on the company.
