The role of social worker in a care home

The bachelor's thesis deals with the role of a social worker in a children's home. In the theoretical part, the types of institutional facilities are distinguished according to Act 109/2002 Coll. Act on the provision of institutional education or protective education in school facilities and on preventive educational care in school facilities. They also describe the competences, activities, personal and professional prerequisites of a social worker in a children's home. The most comprehensive chapter is the very roles that the social worker in DD falls into. The practical part contains a comparison of professional literature with the practice of working social workers in seven children's homes from western Bohemia.
Ideas of children from the orphanage about their own future family

The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of children's ideas about their future own family. The thesis aims to describe the current family based on professional sources and, through a research investigation, to map whether children growing up in an orphanage have ideas about their future family and are able to describe them. The theoretical part focuses on the family, substitute family care, institutional education, the characteristics of school-age children and time perspective. In the practical part, based on the results of a research study, are described the children's ideas about their future, with a focus on a potential future family and household. As data collection methods a semi-structured interview and a projective technique are used. Data are analysed by two-stage coding.
The prevalence of substance abuse in chlidren's homes

Base: The use of addictive substances is still an actual problem as well as primary prevention which should be in the center of focus. Children in orphanage are a group with higher risk due to the absence of strong parental element in their life. They can also suffer from various psychical problems. Aim: The aim of this thesis is to map the misuse of additive substances in children's homes and describe the problems connected to it from the point of view of guardians and how can those problems be solved. Methods: The questionnaire was chosen for the data collection. The answers had been collected for two months and then evaluated by Google Forms and Microsoft Office Word. Two groups were addressed - clients od children's home and one guardian of the same home. Results: The questionnaire proved that most of the children had used the addictive substances, most of them are addicted to at least one and even though the primary prevention is present in those establishments. Conclusions: Clients in children's homes are a group with higher risk and it is necessary to pay special attention to prevention and risk factors. Institutions for preschool children with social and curtural disadvantages

The diploma thesis characterizes the institutions dealing with children with social and cultural disadvantages. Methods that have been used are structured interviews and data analysis. Implemented in four institutions dealing with children with social and cultural disadvantages and four teachers in kindergarten, where the children of the orphanage. Aim of this work was to determine, which institutions for children in distress occur preschool children, what reasons most often comes to the institution and the institution where most leaves. Detects changes, relating to the psychosocial needs of children, that occurred in a children's home in Dolních Pocernicích after 2002. Furthermore compares the differences between children from ordinary families and children from the orphanage attending the same kindergarten. Finally, work is understanding the institutions, that help children who have no such luck in life, such as children with loving parents.
