Feasibility study
Beneš, Michal ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Pirožek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis develops a feasibility study for the introduction of a new product. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of the project. With the help of market research and analysis of the external environment, the current market situation was mapped and a SWOT analysis was performed. In the technical part, the design of the production process was developed and the production time was determined. The economic part quantified the cost and price of the finished product. In the techno-economic evaluation, the return on equity was determined, the break even point was determined and the risks of implementation were found and arrangements to minimize them were proposed.
Design modification and CFD simulation of the filling valve
Klíma, Štěpán ; Kohút, Jiří (referee) ; Klas, Roman (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a filling valve guide using a metal 3D printing method for application in a hydraulic press. The production of a filling valve guide using traditional forms of manufacturing in terms of labour, production, technology and time-challenging processes and the metal 3D printing method can help to overcome some of these challenges. The introduction of this paper is concerned with explaining the function of filling valves in the hydraulic press mechanism and a brief introduction to valve guide manufacturing technologies, including metal 3D printing technology. This is followed by an explanation of the new design in terms of the technology used. A strength analysis using FEA is then developed to determine the functionality of the valve guide and to optimise its shape. In this section, an iterative procedure was used to reduce the reduced stress in the ribs to 68 % of the reduced stress of the original design by changing the valve guide geometry. At the same time, a theoretical introduction to FEM is written, including an explanation of the non-linearities in FEM. This is followed by a comparison of the hydraulic losses due to oil flow through the original valve and the valve with the modified valve guide. Similar to the FEM chapter, a theoretical section is also written introducing CFD, mesh generation for CFD and turbulence models.
Application of modern technologies for the production of spare parts airsoft guns
Král, Ondřej ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes design and manufacture of airsoft spare parts. Selected spare parts were hammer and spring holder, which were designed in 3D parametric software Autodesk Inventor 2016. Chosen method to manufacture spare parts, was Fused Modeling Deposition, which is part of Rapid Prototyping technology. The device for producing parts was 3D printer uPrint. The manufacture of silicon mould was based on printed spring holder, which was used for parts manufacture, by casting plastic materiál. Thesis is completed with a technical-economical evaluation, in which it was found that the silicon mould casting is more profitable in the production of more parts.
Design of a dedicated manipulator
Chmela, Martin ; Tůma, Zdeněk (referee) ; Pavlík, Jan (advisor)
CHMELA Martin: Design of a dedicated manipulator In this bachelor thesis there is a thorough analysis of the problem of manipulation with self-supporting forms in foundry industry. Proposal of variant solutions and their technical and economic evaluation. Construction design of the specified variant - 3D model. Computational report and drawing documentation of selected sections.
Present state of investment casting technology - wax patterns
Procházka, Zdeněk ; Helán, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The subject dealt with in the bachelor degree thesis covers technology of investment casting with a special focus to the problem of wax patterns. Based on expert analysis, this case study focuses on the most advanced facilities and materials used for this particular phase of technology as well as basic methods of wax materials testing.
Surface Integrity of Produced Part for Sanitary Technique and Method of Improvement
Peňák, Martin ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on surface integrity during finishing operations in the manufacture of faucet’s bodies and identifying of its possible defects. The aim is to demonstrate the nature of the defect by method of repeatability to determine the possibility of its occurrence. Part of this work is to offer corrective actions lead to its elimination or its complete removal during the manufacturing process at the supplier.
Casted Formula Student Upright
Doležal, Tomáš ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with a design of casted upright for Formula Student vehicle Dragon X. Casting method used for the purpose of this thesis was selected by review of relevant scientific literature. The upright was then structurally designed and strength calculations were made. Main criterion of the design is minimum compliance with meeting the required weight. Final design is compared with the design of the previous generation of vehicle.
Manufacture of cast Early Middle Age Viking Weapon parts
Brůža, František ; Mareček, Petr (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
The Bachelor’s project is concerned with the research and the following analysis of information and the period technologies needed for making a replica of the brass hilt of a 10th century sword. The project particularly focuses on the period casting technology. Next, the possibility of making a replica by a 3D scan and 3D print is discussed. The project also includes a comprehensive experiment consisting of casting parts of the hilt using the period technology. The functionality reproducing the hilt by 3D technology up to the printed model stage is also tested.
Manufacture of cast iron mortar replica
Myška, Martin ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the complete production technology of mortar replica. The first part describes the historical development of mortar and pestle in Bohemia and in the world. In the second part there is the description of the technological process of production of models and the methods of molding process. Finally, the production of the mold, subsequent casting and purifying process of the mortar are documented.
Welded construction of vertical lathes
Augustin, Petr ; Novotný, Lubomír (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The selected topic of my bachelor thesis deals primarily with the substitution of foundry weldment. TOSHULIN a.s. with a seat in Hulin, production of vertical turning machines. The goa of this thesis is to theoretically and practically assess the pros and cons of the substitution.
