Application of the Theory of Coalitions in the Formation of Regional Councils in the Czech Republic after Elections in 2008 and 2012

This diploma thesis "Application of the theory of the process of forming coalitions of regional councils in the Czech Republic after the elections in 2008 and 2012" discusses the process of establishing regional coalitions in the region of the South Moravian and the Central Bohemia. The aim is to answer the question of what form of the regional coalitions formed during the regional elections. Furthermore, I was describe how did the process of establishing regional coalitions and what were the key factors, that decide the outcome of negotiations. For these reasons, this thesis analyzed the official declaration of election programs, performances by regional politicians in political or public debate. The intention of this thesis is through the use of a theoretical framework and analysis of documents, describe in detail the development process, which was formed coalition and identify possible strategies of individual actors. The influence of the Visegrad Group on the negotiations on the MFF 2014-2020 and 2021-2027

The fundamental idea of the coexistence of the contemporary central European states within one geopolitical space has its beginning in the 14th century when the monarchs of Bohemia, Poland and Hungary found and articulated a common interest in cooperation in defence against Habsburg's power expansion. The formalised form of cooperation was later implemented within the Austrian and subsequently Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Austria's dominant role ended in 1918 with the breakdown of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, as one of the results of the first world war. The current Visegrad Group was created as a need to respond to the new challenges that these countries had to face in the new geopolitical order of Europe. In pursuing a realistic policy, the Visegrad group can become a significant force not only within the EU, capable of defending the economic, military, and political interests of its members. The promotion of the economic and national interests of the individual members of the Visegrad Group can be enhanced by mutual cooperation within the European Union, especially during negotiations of the long-term budgets of the European Union. Interactions of developers and mayors of suburban municipalities in hinterland of Prague

This master's thesis is devoted to the character of the interaction and negotiation about residential development between the municipality representatives and development companies, the key players in the suburban development. As the geographical area for the research were chosen selected municipalities in north-east hinterland of Prague. The theoretical part summarizes the institutional approach, residential suburbanization, spatial planning and the residential development. The practical part consists of the research itself. It was done as the qualitative analysis of the semi-structured interviews with the municipality representatives and development companies. The interviews are then evaluated on the basis of the theoretical thematic analysis. The interaction between developers and mayors is quite complicated because it represents the conflict of private and public interests. This leads to further negotiations. The character of the interaction and also the negotiations are more or less formed by various circumstances. In this thesis have been distinguished four types of interactions. These types differs in the conditions and requirements determination by the mayors and its fulfillment by the development companies. Jewish identity: formation and deformation. Ethnography of Moishe House Prague.

This thesis is based on a long-term field research in the Prague Jewish community in which I am trying to express the Jewish identity of young Czech Jews. The aim is to characterize the formation and construction of Jewish identities, their coexistence with other types of social identities and the role of material elements in this process. The formation has a processional nature and there are continual transformations and negotiations of concrete forms of Jewish identities over time. These identities are publicly manifested through various material elements and by this manifestation those identities are also strengthened. I also examine the impact of physical structures and other objects on the Jewish community, how they strengthen its cohesion and on the role that they play in materializing and bringing the collective memories into the present. I simultaneously work with the concept of materiality in the context of the Moishe House Prague project. I examine the position of techno-social tools and the power of leadership. This thesis is based on several theoretical perspectives that I connect and combine in order for me to explore social reality and Jewishness in their entirety. Dispute over the deployment of German military forces in the First Gulf War

The First Gulf War initiated the re-opening of the internal political debate in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) about the deployment of armed forces abroad and represented a culmination point that challenged the existing course of German foreign and security policy. This bachelor thesis reconstructs the process of German government decision making, concerning the form of the German contribution to the solution of the Iraqi-Kuwait crisis using the theoretical concept of two-level game introduced by Robert Putnam. The thesis focuses on the following questions: which factors and to what extent formed the final German position and how did the final decision influence the international position of Germany and the course of its foreign and security policy? Finding itself in a difficult political situation at the time (unification process), the FRG decided, in spite of its foreign legal commitments and the expectations of international allies, to pursue a strategy of military abstention and supported the operation through financial and material means.
