Survey and Diagnostics of Building Construction
Resl, Jaroslav ; Cikrle, Petr (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the overview of the diagnostic methods for engineering surveys reinforced concrete constructions. The practical part explains engineering surveys of industrial building, evaluation of concrete strength on existing building and results from search reinforcements on individual elements. Next part is focused on load testing precast floor slab removed from construction and evaluation load capacity. The last part include structural design of elected parts (precast floor slab and beam).
Ultrasound in material diagnostics
Kristek, Michal ; Frk, Martin (referee) ; Kazelle, Jiří (advisor)
Objectives of the semestral project are to study the physical basis of ultra acoustic and comprehend the basics of ultrasound usage in diagnostic of materials. I should also become familiar with functions and usage of ultrasound device EPOCH LT made by OLYMPUS and perform measurement of thickness and speed of ultrasound spreading in selected materials.
Non-destructive testing of welds
Šaloun, Jan ; Sigmund, Marian (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis describes non-destructive testing (NDT) of fusion welds of metals. There are five fundament methods of NDT discussed in the theoretical part – visual and magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic, radiography and penetrant testing. Principles of methods, examining procedures and their evaluations are described. The methods are compared with each other. In the experimental part of the thesis two samples of welding joints were welded and tested by selected methods. To verify correctness of the indicated defects, metallographic samples were made. At the conclusion practical results are compared with theoretical statements.
Information System Assessment and Proposal of ICT Modification
Stuchlíková, Tereza ; Vejmelka, Miloslav (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the process of performing non-destructive testing in the Nuclear energy division of the ČEZ, a. s. and the design of changes for this process and the information systems involved. The first part of the diploma thesis defines the basic terminology and the theoretical basis for further use. The second part includes an analysis of the current state of the process of performing non-destructive testing and the relevant systems that are involved in the process. The third part contains a proposal to improve the process of conducting non-destructive testing, further proposals, and economic evaluation of proposals
Application of new and progressive diagnostic methods on transport infrastructure objects - implementation process
Styk, Josef ; Březina, Ilja ; Matula, Radek ; Janků, Michal ; Grošek, Jiří
In order to maintain the proper condition of buildings, bridges, roads and other structures, their regular maintenance is essential. Often, if the distress is detected at the beginning of the disorder, the cost of removing it is far lower than after months of uncontrolled degradation. Locating a distress in time, often means detecting it before it is visible to the naked eye. A key means of detecting hidden distresses is non-destructive diagnostic methods (NDT). The purpose of the proposed methodology is to clarify the procedure for introducing new non-destructive diagnostic methods into practice in order to exploit their potential and to replace them or to suitably complement the existing methods. There are presented selected NDT methods and possibilities of their application on selected transport infrastructure objects, including the contribution of comparative measurements (round robin tests) and the creation of illustrative cases of the application of new NDT methods. The presented methodology was prepared within project TE01020168 - Centre for Effective and Sustainable Transport Infrastructure (CESTI), with financial support of the Czech Technology Agency within the Centre of Competence Program. This methodology is intended primarily for the state authorities, the transport infrastructure administrators and companies dealing with diagnostic surveys.

Welding of steel austenitic
Šmarda, Vladimír ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with welding of austenitic steel, which used in pipelines for liquids in the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station, and suitable technology for welding of joints. Firstly, there is introduced the distinction between the types of stainless steel. Concerning the austenitic steel there are stated their features and defects during welding. Secondly, the bachelor thesis deals with commonly used welding method: MMA, MIG/MAG and TIG, which is most frequently used for weld joints in the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station. A part of the chapter is devoted to progressive TIG methods, such as: use of hot wire and orbital welding of pipelines. In the experimental part, there is solved a proposal for a method and a technique for weld joint between two chambers of tubular cooler. The dimension of the pipeline flange is according to DN 400. It is a butt weld in V-shape with permanent pad on the inside of the pipe, which is welded with TIG method. On the basis of the NDT verification test and also destructive testing, there was proved that the chosen method, technology and additional material were optimal. In the part of experiment evaluation, there were summarized all the results of the tests. Eventually, the suggested weld joint was recommended for realization.
Aircraft leading edges minor damages detection based on thermographic survey of electrical anti-icing system
Koštial, Rostislav ; Janhuba, Luboš ; Hlinka, Jiří
Aircraft leading edge is one of the most important subjects of aircraft scheduled maintenance. Leading edge as part of the slot on transport aircraft is not critical to fatigue stress in most of the cases. However, leading edge is extremely vulnerable to the accidental damage in combination with environmental damage. Maintenance is usually provided by visual inspection before every flight. Nevertheless, development of anti-icing system based on contact electrical heating opens possibility to thermographic Nondestructive Testing (NDT) methods usage. These methods could detect minor damages, which are visually undetectable especially in the case of composite materials. This paper describes possibility of thermographic methods (using anti-icing system) application as mean of leading edge minor damage detection.
Modern Maintenance Procedures for Airframe Inspections for General Aviation Category Aircraft
Koštial, Rostislav ; Petrásek, Miloslav (referee) ; Třetina, Karel (referee) ; Hlinka, Jiří (advisor)
Aircraft scheduled maintenance requirements are rapidly extending and developing due to rapid evolution of small aircraft. This evolution leads to implementation of until recently exclusively airliner class maintenance standards. In the field of general aviation and FAR 23/ EASA CS-23 especially, preventive maintenance based on part replacing or repairing is still dominant. DAMAGE TOLERANCE philosophy implementation into an aircraft design influences maintenance procedures, which are adjusted to older SAFE LIFE philosophy. Aircraft manufactures are developing new ways, how to integrate requirements of damage tolerance application into scheduled maintenance procedures. Huge airliner manufactures (FAR 25/ CS-25) are using the ATA MSG-3 intelligent maintenance approach based on inspection. This dissertation thesis develops intelligent scheduled maintenance methodology, utilizing ATA MSG-3 procedures, expert knowledge and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA).
Eddy Current Probe Design and its Application on Aircraft Composite Structures
Boháčová, Marie ; Hájek, Karel (referee) ; Kopec, Bernard (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of an eddy current transducer which enables non-destructive inspection of composite aircraft structures primarily carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in areas of manufacture and maintenance. The design of the transducer is based on analytical-experimental approach and its electrical and mechanical parameters were optimized to ensure a good signal to noise ratio at the six composite samples. These samples contain artificial discontinuities in the form of various types of defects. These defects are simulating the various types of damage created in the aircraft structure, especially delamination or thickness changes of composite materials. The experimental measurements, data collection and non-destructive evaluation were performed during the period. The result of this work is functional eddy current probe, which is reliably able to detect some damage of the carbon composite structures to the depth of 3,9 mm.
