Institutional care of seniors in The Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the issue of institutional care for the elderly in the country. The main goal of this work was to perform a general discourse in the current state of institutional care for the elderly in the country. The secondary objective is to suggest a possible application of special educationalists within accomodational services for health and social services. The main research method was used the analysis and compilation of 168 expert papers. The work is internally divided into seven chapters. The first one deals with the methodology and objectives of the work. The second presents data on age and aging. The third is focused on general aspects of institutional care. The fourth chapter introduces the reader to the current state of health services with a focus on hospice. The fourth chapter discusses the social services especially for elderly homes. The fifth chapter deals with the care of the dying senior and sixth chapter presents the author's conception of a possible application of special educationalists within the accomodational and health services. The main object of this work is to find out whether knowledge of communication among paramedical staff differs with regard to their job title. The theoretical part contains the following chapters: the importance of communication in nursing care, communication, specifics of the communication in convalescence care department. Quantitative research investigating the differences between four groups of paramedical staff is part of the empirical section. Possible Attitudes of Secondary Health Management to Considereted Practise of Active Euthanasia in Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to capture the opinion of representatives of secondary health management on the appropriateness of including the possibility of performing active euthanasia in the Czech healthcare system and their view on the issue of active euthanasia, by obtaining answers to predefined research questions. In the theoretical part, the reader is first acquainted with the phenomenon of euthanasia and the distinction of the term active euthanasia, which is the focus of the research part of this thesis, from other concepts, with which it could potentially be easily confused. Furthermore, the current legislative framework in the Czech Republic and European case law on euthanasia are briefly introduced. The following is an introduction to ethical issues through a summary of arguments and counterarguments for and against the legalization of active euthanasia in the Czech Republic. At the end of the theoretical part, there are brief reflections on the inclusion of euthanasia in the context of hospice care, which are voiced in media and public sphere and a summary of what we know about the perception of this issue from the perspective of the Czech population. The phenomenon of dying from the perspective of hospice care workers and LND workers learers for patients with long term diseases

When choosing a topic for my bachelor's thesis, I chose the title: The phenomenon of dying from the perspective of hospice care workers and employees of hospitals for the long-term sick. This topic is very important to me from several points of view. One of them is that I have been dealing with the topic of the sick, the old, the dying since I was a child, because my whole family works in the field of caring for others. Another impetus for me was to learn better communication with the client and consolidate an overview of the issue. The aim of the work is to compare the care of the dying and the staff between the two facilities. The first is the hospice movement and the second is the LDN department. Furthermore, what are the requirements for caregivers and care in these facilities and, last but not least, the perception of dying and death from their perspective. However, my work turned out differently than intended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which closed the facility selected for my work and made it unable to conduct the interview. The content of the thesis deals not only with the theory of dying, death, but also with practical things, which include, for example: the needs of clients, the question of faith, how pastoral care and financing of hospices. Satisfying long - term care patient's psychosocial needs in Královské Vinohrady Faculty Hospital

The aim of the diploma thesis is to map out the subjective view of volunteers on the psychosocial needs of patients at the Long-term care department in the Královské Vinohrady Faculty Hospital. The work first focuses on the characteristics of patients in a long-term treatment. It also provides the overview of their psychological and social needs and about those who play a role in meeting these needs. The reconnaissance survey identifies areas where volunteers complement the work of social workers and care staff. In the evaluation, the results of the interviews with volunteers are compared with the opinions of the patients themselves

Activation of the patients with immobilization syndrome

Immobilization syndrome or syndrome of inactivity is a secondary disorder of the body. Causes of immobilization syndrome may be severe pain, nervous, skeletal and muscular system, generalized weakness, psychosocial problems, infectious processes and age. Immobilization syndrome affects not only the musculoskeletal system, but also the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, urinary system, skin, nervous system and overall metabolism. Thesis on "Activation patients with immobilization syndrome" is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the problem of immobilization syndrome and is focused primarily on patient activation. The theoretical part also mentions education of nurses in this field. The practical part deals with analyzing and evaluating the results of quantitative research obtained on the basis of a questionnaire survey among general nurses from the department of geriatrics, follow-up care and hospice. Responders, who I have chosen, come from both state departments of health facilities and the private sector.
