Personal management of Junák

This diploma thesis investigates the human resource management in Junak. It focuses on the basic organisational units in Junak. The topic of the diploma thesis follows the personal areas from Strategy 2022, which contains visions that are supposed to be fullfilled by 2022. The aim of this study is to monitor the practice of human resource management in organisational units with good people management. The theoretical part involves explanations of human resource management fundamental terms and engages in relevant subjects which are related. The empirical part is divided into two areas. The first one introduces the Scout movement in general, the Scout organisation in Great Britain and the organisation Junak and its strategy. It describes the organisational structures and focuses on the department of human resource management and support for volunteers. The second area is the research itself. Sixty Scout units were chosen for the study. I addressed 18 leaders of units according to some qualitative indicators and special recommendations, 14 interviews took place. Interviews focused on the practical experience, inspiration, personal attitudes and opinions of the leaders or their deputies. Design and Realisation of the Competency Approach for Children of Younger School Age in the Junák - Czech Scouting Organisation

The aim of this thesis is to create and implement a competency-based approach in the organization Junák - Czech Scouting for children of younger school age. Further, it analyses the possibilities and limits of such an approach. The theoretical part deals with the development of key competencies through scout education. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the educational programme in the children's organization Junák - Czech Scout at the beginning of the 21st century. Furthermore, the terms of competence and key competence are discussed. The practical part was carried out as action research in the 3rd Scout Unit Holubov. Using a questionnaire survey, the research first focuses on the reflection of Scout Paths, which represent the current scout tool for applying the competency-based approach. The next part of the research concentrates on creating a new competency-based model that verifies and reflects in practice. In the final part, the possibilities and limits of this new model are analyzed and suggestions for further implementations are proposed. Nationalist Thoughts in Liberal Associations: the Maccabi Hatzair Jewish Association and the Czechoslovak Junák Association

The diploma thesis Nationalist Thoughts in Liberal Associations: the Maccabi Hatzair Jewish Association and the Czechoslovak Junák Association deals with two liberally defined associations in the period of interwar Czechoslovakia. On the basis of selected interviews with witnesses, it examines the manifestations of nationalist (including Zionist) ideology in a liberal surroundings. Each association is represented by three narrators, who were selected with regard to age, gender balance and geographical aspect. The thesis consists of three chapters, first is described the sociable situation in the second half of the 19th and in the first half of the 20th century, both the Czech and Jewish population. In the next part of the thesis are used oral historical methods of research, analysis and interpretation of interviews. The analytical part serves to find an answer to the research question of how nationalism or Zionism was manifesting itself in liberal associations.
Red or brown scarf? The destinies of the Pioneer organisation and Junak in the early communist era in Czechoslovakia

RÉSUMÉ The diploma thesis analyses the process of creation of the Pioneer organization, and the gradual prohibition of the Scout organization Junák by the Communist regime at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s. The thesis aims to describe the view of the Junák organization by the Communist regime, and to compare both youth organizations. The first part focuses on the creation of Junák, its development up to 1945, and discusses the organization, meaning and content of the Scout educational method. The second crucial chapter describes the history of the Scout movement after World War II in the context of the post-war tendency to merge youth organizations and give them a single central leadership. The reasons and circumstances under which the Communist regime decided to suspend the activity of the Scout organization and to give full responsibility for the education of children to the Czechoslovak Youth Federation (ČSM) and its part, the Pioneer organization, are examined. The task of the Pioneer organization in the socialist society is described, so are its organization, meaning, symbols and the educational framework. Media Reprezentation of the Scout Movement in Czech Internet Media iDNES.cz and Novinky.cz

This thesis named " Media Representation of the Scout Movement in Czech Internet Media iDNES.cz and Novinky.cz" focuses on the way Scouting is pictured in these two popular types of Czech media. The aim of the work is to analyse certain titles to find out how Scouting is presented as an organisation. The work is divided into three main parts - theoretical resource, methodological and analytical parts. The first chapter interprets technical terms mainly connected with the representation of reality or construction of reality. Furthermore, the chapter offers a brief interpretation of history and the current state of Czech Scouting. The second methodological part contains a description of the methods applied and shortly characterises certain titles. Finally, the last part describes particular forms of presentation of the Scout movement in certain media. The problematic is handled with three set research questions. By means of qualitative analyses, the work thoroughly describes the presentation of the Scout movement by certain media.
Junák - Czech scouting? To the ideological origins of the Czech Scouting.

This master thesis focuses on founding and forming of czech scouting. The main source are printed documents because of lack preserved archive documents. The main method is textological and comparative analysis. At first the history of world and czech scouting is presentend. To find out the essential differences between english and czech scouting I compared two basic manuals: Scouting for Boys and Základy junáctví. In the following part of the thesis I determine three areas in which the reception of scouting in czech environment is investigated. These areas are scout value system, attitude to nation and state and relation to the Sokol organisation. In thesis are also analyzed the results of international research concerning the origin of scouting in other european countries. The results are then copared with the situation in czech lands. The thesis also includes three following attachments: set of short biographies of mentioned personalities, edition of scout laws and filled research questionnaires.
Environmentální výchova jako průřezové téma RVP a jeho realizace ve školním a mimoškolním vzdělávání

The diploma thesis focuses on the cross-curricular theme the Environmental Education according to the Czech Educational Programme. The aim of it is to show the implementation of the teaching about the current problems connected to the conservation of the environment in different segments of the Czech educational process. The first chapter deals with the Environmental Education in general - its characteristics, the interconnections with the other school subjects, the topics and the expected recommended outcomes. The second chapter describes the teaching of Environmental Education in the Czech Republic and in the selected countries of the European Union. Then it focuses on the didactic specifics of the Environmental Education and the means and methods of its teaching. The third chapter occupies with the changes in the perception of the nature and the selected current environmental problems of the present society. The fourth chapter deals with the topic of the natural upbringing in the nature, mainly in the 20th century. The fifth chapter analyses the implementation of the Environmental Education by the Czech association Junák český skaut, z.s. The sixth chapter suggests the application of the didactic games intended for the scout programme or different clubs with the environmental themes. It introduces the particular didactic games suitable for the implementation into the educational process and it also presents author´s own didactic game PET-life.
Scouting in Nová Včelnice and Kamenice nad Lipou in the first half of the 20th century

This thesis deals with scout organization in Nova Vcelnice and Kamenice nad Lipou in the first half of the twentieth century. The first chapter of this thesis describes the relation between previously named towns, which were part of the same region in that period. This relation is also reflected in the structure of local scout units. The next chapter focuses on a problematics of founding new scout units in Nova Vcelnice and Kamenice nad Lipou and also about the influence of other regional centers. An important part of this thesis is an analysis of everyday activity at scout units, especially the involvement of their members into the public affairs. The final chapter reflects how scout ideology affected two chosen scouts, Emanuel Truhlar and Frantisek Sadilek, who died during the Second World War fighting Nazis. A closer look at their sacrifice is also a part of this chapter.
