Jiří Kolář: The "New" Beginnings of His Poetry and its Position in Interpretation of His Writing
Šnellerová, Tereza ; Špirit, Michael (advisor) ; Vojtěch, Daniel (referee)
In this diploma thesis, the "new" beginnings of Jiří Kolář's poetry are addressed. The main focus lies upon the genesis of his early poetry in the period of his "Křestný list". The "Křestný list" was issued as Kolář's début in September 1941, however, neither its publication nor Kolář's accession into literature were as immediate as they might appear in sources available so far. It took nearly ten years until the young poet's first oeuvre was issued and he had undergone a certain development in the meantime - he had gained more experience and become mature as a poet and person. The first part of the thesis is aimed at portraying this period (i.e. the years of 1937-1941/2) within the process of all events of literary history which could have impacted Kolář, his poetry and the final appearance of his first colletion. In the second part of the thesis, the given events (e.g. the acquaintance with Václav Pekárek, František Halas and Jindřich Chalupecký or the problems with the censorship in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) are put into the wider context of Kolář's juvenile and hitherto unpublished texts that are now in the possession of Vladimír Karfík and in the inheritance of Jindřich Chalupecký. The interpretation of these is the core of this one and also of the third part of thesis. The integral...

Visual Poetry in the Network of the International Communication. Terms, Categories, Typology
Krátká, Eva ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Langerová, Marie (referee) ; Pomajzlová, Alena (referee)
The doctoral thesis is concerned diachronically with the term "visual poetry". The focus is on its progress during the period after the Second World War in the context of the extensively advanced movement, as substantially defined in international expert discussion. The use of the term, which is supported by the arguments of many theoreticians and artists of the period, is studied in the thesis from the viewpoint of the inspirational sources and specific contacts between art and literature. The focus is on the specific positions and strategies of visual perception. Visual poetry is studied - considering the different contexts of the European avant-garde movements and through the analysis of contemporaneous theories which defined three main lines of thought - as an incoherent art stream manifesting itself in the eclectic use of artistic media. In conclusion, the thesis looks at the project of Czech author poetics typology which grew from purely Czech examples based on formal language of the visual poetry works. The thesis seeks to point out the original aspects of the internal discussion of visual poetry, and to place it in the international context.

LENCOVÁ, Pavla
This bachelor work studies and focuses on the lyric depicting of existential selfreflection in poetry of the 30{\crq}s and 40{\crq}s of the 20th century. Attention is firstly focused on Vaclav Černy and his interpretation of existential philosophy. Further on the object of the research becomes the group around Kamil Bednář and it{\crq}s theoretical texts that affect the discussion about this group and last but not least the concept of the {\clqq}naked person``, that should have become the programme of the young artists, was reflected. Attention is also focused on theoretical texts of Jindřich Chalupecký and on the poetics of Group 42 that instead of the meditative approach passed over to the objective view of the world. The works of Jiří Orten, Jan Hanč and Jiří Kolář analyse in what way poetry reflects the principles of existential imagination.
