Fingl, Filip ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Sudliankou, Aliaksandr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the recent gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, which took place in 2009, and its consequences to the external energy security of the EU. The first part applies itself to the fundamental sakes of long-lasting problems between Russia and Ukraine in the gas field and their evaluation. In the second part, the actual dispute of 2009 is being examined, whereas the attention is paid foremost to the possible causes of the dispute. The last part concerns itself with the review of gathered facts in the context of the current energy policy of the EU, the EU-Russia relationship is being examined and the dependability of Russia is being questioned. There is also a devoted space to discuss the most frequently mentioned diversification options of transit routes in the context of russian interests.
Energy EU-Russia relationship in the background of interest of central european countries
Bernat, Jakub ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Abrhám, Josef (referee)
Energy resources mean an important aspect of GDP of the Russian Federation. Most of these strategic commodities consumed in the EU have originated in Russia. The aim of the thesis is to assess the mutual relations between the EU and Russia in terms of energy trading with important raw materials with focus on Central Europe. The first chapter deals with various energy sources and their importance for the EU and thenthrough a common EU energy policy. The middle section is devoted to EU-Russia relations in energy and pipelines connecting both sides. The final section assesses the Union from the perspective of energy security and provides other alternatives forenergy production.

The theoretical part contains the history of wood gas, principle of development wood gas from various kinds of raw materials and different types of generator practical part includes a proposal of the technological scheme of continuous production of wood gas and a scheme of generator.
Fluidized Bed Gasification of Coal-Oil and Coal-Water-Oil Slurries by a Gas Containing Carbon Dioxide-Oxygen Mixture
Svoboda, Karel ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Jeremiáš, Michal ; Kameníková, Petra ; Skoblia, S. ; Šyc, Michal
Direct use of CO2 instead of steam or as a partial substitute for steam in coal and biomass direct gasification processes is one of possibilities of potential useful application of CO2. Based on the above stated facts we concentrated in our study on FB gasification of COS and COWS slurries with gases containing higher concentrations of CO2. Our attention was particularly devoted to effects of CO2 concentrations and gasification temperature on producer gas heating value, energy yield, tar and BTX yields in comparison with FB gasification with steam-O2 mixtures.
Measurement of Persistent Organic Pollutants and Inorganic toxic Substances in Flue Gases from Crematory Furnace
Pekárek, Vladimír ; Tydlitát, Vratislav
Literature data about content of PCDD/Fs in flue gases from crematories, two day measurements of pollutants from one crematory furnace are described. Found concentrations of particulate matter and inorganic gases (SO2, NOx, CO, VOC, HCl, HF), concentrations of toxic metals and of PCBs, PAHs and PCDD/Fs are presented.
Energy Potential of Central Asia
Brožová, Jana ; Kašpar, Václav (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
The diploma thesis called Energy Potential of Central Asia aims to assess the potential of this region as a supplier of resources of energy. In the first part the basic trends in the area of consumption and production of energy resources are summarized. In the second part the countries of Central Asia region disposing of extensive oil and gas reserves are briefly introduced. The third part describes in detail the oil and gas reserves, firstly considering the whole world and secondly for each of the countries independently. The fourth part describes the options of transport of the energy supplies from Central Asia to consumers' markets in Western Europe, China and India. The last part deals shortly with characterization of approach of the major world and regional powers to this area.
